The combination of criteria encourages a comprehensive strategy where slogans must be thematically relevant, visually appealing, creative, and impactful. This approach compels participants to integrate diverse elements of design and messaging, fostering balanced consideration of form and content. Ultimately, it pushes contenders to produce work that not only communicates effectively but also stands out creatively .

Each strand must have two groups with two members each, fostering collaboration within small teams. This structure likely influences the development of concepts and the delegation of tasks, encouraging teamwork and the combination of different artistic and communicative skills. The need for cooperation might drive strategic discussions on leveraging individual strengths in the creation of slogans .

The requirement for all slogan entries to be in English likely aims to maintain consistency, given that English is an international language, which facilitates judging and comparison across submissions. It also ensures a uniform medium of communication, possibly reflecting the institution's educational priorities. However, it could marginalize students who are less proficient in English, potentially affecting creativity and expression .

Eligibility criteria for participants include being a bona fide student of PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College, having a passing grade of at least 75 across all subjects, and for G12 students, no grades below 75 or INC/FA remarks from G11 1st Semester, G11 2nd Semester, and G12 1st Semester. G11 students must have no grades below 75 or INC/FA remarks from G11 1st Semester. Participants must submit a photocopy of their ID for AY 2022-2023 and grade reports for verification .

Participants are allowed to use pastels, crayons, watercolors, and colored pencils to create their slogans. The restrictions on materials ensure a level playing field by limiting the medium, preventing any advantages that could arise from using potentially superior art supplies. Uniformity is further promoted by providing only one illustration board per group and collecting prohibited materials .

Imposing restrictions on entering or leaving the venue once the contest begins likely prevents interruptions and ensures security and fairness by preventing external influences. However, this rule might pose challenges for participants needing breaks due to stress or discomfort, potentially impacting their performance if they are unable to address personal needs .

Participants are required to be in the event area 10 minutes before the start time. There is a penalty of 1 point deduction per minute of lateness per member. This rule emphasizes the importance of punctuality in the contest environment .

The judging criteria prioritize relevance to the theme (35%), placing significant importance on how well the slogan aligns with the given topic. Artistry and creativity (20%) and color harmony (20%) are also key, emphasizing aesthetic quality. Originality (10%) and message and visual impact (15%) complete the criteria, suggesting a balance between creativity and communication effectiveness. These criteria reflect a value system that favors thematic coherence and visual appeal .

Only assigned marshals are allowed in the venue, and any participant must remain within the premises once the contest starts, which limits entries and exits for any reason. The use of mobile phones or any electronic devices is prohibited. These restrictions ensure focus, minimize distractions, and help maintain the integrity of the competition. However, they may also increase stress by isolating participants from potential external support or information .

The two-hour time limit necessitates efficient use of the duration, potentially affecting the complexity and detail of slogans. Participants must balance quality with time management, which could lead to strategic planning before and during the creation process. This constraint might encourage quick idea generation and prioritization of essential elements over refinements .
