Identify the components of visible light
ELECTROMAGNETIC SPECTRUM
Light is electromagnetic wave it is produced from the interaction of the changing electric and
magnetic fields that can travel in vacuum. The electromagnetic (EM) spectrum is the range of all
types of EM radiation. Radiation is energy that travels and spreads out as it goes – the visible
light that comes from a lamp in your house and the radio waves that come from a radio station are
two types of electromagnetic radiation. The other types of EM radiation that make up the
electromagnetic spectrum are microwave, infrared, ultraviolet, X-rays and gamma rays.
The electromagnetic spectrum includes, from longest wavelength to shortest:
radio waves, microwaves, infrared, optical, ultraviolet, X-rays, and gamma-rays.
COMPONENTS OF
VISIBLE LIGHT
Visible light is affectionately
known as ROYGBIV.
visible spectrum is the portion of
the electromagnetic spectrum
that is visible to the human ...
The result is that red light is bent
(refracted) less sharply than
violet
Violet has the shortest
wavelength and the strongest
