The purpose of this document is to help the developers to easily understand the migration steps

involved in migrating data from ERP system to Hana DB.

Below mentioned are the few Techniques used widely for migration of data:

1. SAP Data Services: SAP BODS ETL tool is used here to migrate data from one system to other
using SAP provided Best Practices for Data Migration (Standard set of jobs which can be
imported to the repository and changes can be done according to the project requirement).
2. Migration Cockpit: predefined template (contains mapping for all master/transactional data)
is available for the Objects involved in Migration. Source data us uploaded onto the
template.

BPFDM (SAP DS) technique is used in the current project (KaV) to migrate the data from SAP ERP to
Hana DB.

 MIGRATION TOOL: SAP Data Services ETL Tool
 TARGET: Hana DB (Sap Suite for Hana)

Prerequisite and Migration approach:

 Local Repository needs to be created for importing the Job templates.


 Login to BODS repository and import the downloaded standard BPFDM content into the
repository.
 Source and Target Datastores connection needs to be setup.
