Zakat, defined as a legally mandated almsgiving, purifies wealth and acts as a means of redistributing wealth within the Muslim community . As stated in Quran 2:261, it is both an individual duty and a societal bridge between the rich and poor, preventing social inequality . Islamic teachings stress that neglecting Zakat incurs severe consequences on the Day of Judgment . The practice is seen not only as a duty to Allah but a right of the needy within society.

Hajj holds tremendous significance as it represents spiritual renewal and purification from past sins . Once completed sincerely, the pilgrim is regarded as pure as the day they were born, symbolizing a fresh start . The pilgrimage enacts unity among Muslims worldwide, reinforcing the ummah's (community) cohesiveness. It serves as Jihad for women, showing renowned testing of faith and persistence . Hajj also uniquely emphasizes humility by equalizing all pilgrims in the same ritual vestments and practices.

The five pillars of Islam are Sahadah (declaration of faith), Salat (prayer), Sawm (fasting during Ramadan), Zakat (almsgiving), and Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca). Each pillar represents a key practice in a Muslim's faith. Sahadah signifies the belief in the oneness of Allah and the finality of the Prophet Muhammad, Salat establishes a routine of prayer that connects Muslims to Allah and deters evil acts , Sawm develops self-restraint , Zakat purifies wealth and supports the impoverished , and Hajj cleanses past sins .

The theological basis for prohibiting Shirk in the Quran rests on the absolute oneness of Allah, where equating others with Allah is considered unforgivable . Shirk undermines the core Islamic tenet of Tawheed (monotheism), contradicting the message of pure monotheism, which is foundational to a Muslim's faith . The impact is profound as acknowledging Allah's oneness is fundamental to Islamic beliefs; violators are warned of dire consequences, highlighting the paramount importance of monotheism in preserving the purity and integrity of Islamic worship and doctrine.

The Quran states that associating partners with Allah, known as Shirk, is the most unforgivable sin . This is reiterated in verses such as 4:48 (An Nisa), where it is stated that Allah can forgive any sin but not Shirk. The Quran emphasizes monotheism by declaring Allah as the sole deity, warning that multiple gods would lead to chaos . By denying the oneness of Allah and His prophets, it potentially denies the fundamental beliefs and earns divine displeasure.

Fasting during Ramadan is significant as it is a means for Muslims to develop self-control and self-restraint . Quran 2:183 states that it's an obligation on those who are capable, to fast, as a way to attain righteousness. Fasting is also considered a form of offering to Allah, with special rewards promised for this deed . It also cultivates empathy for the less fortunate by experiencing hunger and thirst, fostering a sense of community among Muslims.

Salat is viewed as a vital practice because it functions as a regular spiritual cleansing, keeping believers from shameful deeds . It fosters a direct link with Allah, providing both spiritual illumination and social cohesion when performed in congregation . As noted in the Quran, it’s the first act to be accounted for on Judgment Day, emphasizing its religious importance . The discipline of fixed prayer times supports personal discipline and community bonding.

In Islam, angels are seen as messengers of Allah, performing specific duties like recording deeds or helping in divine missions (e.g., the Battle of Badr). They are not considered divine but created beings without free will, strictly following Allah's commands . Contrastingly, in Christianity, angels often serve as divine intermediaries and have a more personal relationship with believers. Some Christian traditions depict fallen angels with free will, unlike Islamic teachings. The Islamic view stresses obedience to Allah as essential to understanding angels’ roles.

The key attributes of Allah include being One and Only, eternal, having no equal, and being beyond all comprehension, as detailed in Surah Al-Ikhlas 114:1-4 . These attributes underpin the concept of monotheism by affirming that nothing and no one can be compared to Allah, reinforcing the exclusivity of worship and devotion to Him alone. The vast, flawless system of the universe reflects Allah’s unmatched power and wisdom, supporting the monotheistic creed by negating any possibilities for polytheism .

The Quran presents life after death as a reality where every soul will taste death and be accountable for their deeds, leading to resurrection and judgment . Surah Al-Anbiya 21:34 confirms the inevitability of death; resurrection is depicted in 41:39, signifying divine power to resurrect all beings. Judgment follows resurrection, leading souls to eternal paradise or hell . The concept emphasizes accountability and righteousness in life, preparing believers through teachings for the hereafter.
