CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
Society, as a whole function because there are different pieces linking its puzzle together.
Humans as the main contributor to everything. Nowadays, people survive in accordance with the
flow of money in society and they find and discover many ways to live up to the rapid growth of
it, that’s when businesses take place.
Mathematics confers utilization in different parts of the business. Accounting, inventory
management, marketing, sales forecasting, and financial analysis are all areas where businesses
apply mathematics. Mathematical Functions provide organization for businesses to take place in
the market. It helps in determining how much it will cost to produce, purchase, or provide your
service before you publicly launch your business. You may determine if you can be successful
enough to maintain your business and earn a respectable income and be competitive with other
businesses by adding up all of the costs associated with producing or purchasing your goods
that’s why a lot of entrepreneurs depend on mathematics so they can run their businesses in the
society smoothly.

1. What did you consider in building up your business?
The first thing that I considered in building my business is my resources. We can’t build
something without resources. I also thought of the thing that will sell in my area since it’s an
important factor in building such.
2. What good or services do you offer?
I offer foods like tapsilog, longsilog, bangsilog, and such. I try my best to make the dishes
successful and provide good services for my customer.
3. What is your pricing strategy?
It depends on my investment. I don’t have an exact pricing strategy but I always depend on the
quality of my food and how much I will spend to buy its ingredients and how many portions I
will make.
4. What are the struggles you experienced in handling your business? How did you cope up
with it?
There are times when my goods aren’t selling well and it’s completely normal. It always depends
on the day. There are days when there are many people around our area like weekends and days

services.

Suppose the price of an item is 18 pesos, I will increase it by 4 pesos so I will sell it for 22 pesos.
When the price of the items I buy decreases, I will also lower my price but it still won't match the
price of what I bought it for.
4. What are the struggles you experienced in handling your business? How did you cope up

Bankruptcy, because of those who owe goods and take a long time to pay their debts. So I started
again from the beginning. I just give the borrowers a limit as to how much they can borrow and I
also give a date on when they should return the loan. If they don't really pay on the exact day,
they can’t borrow again. They can only borrow again when they have already paid me.
5. How did you come up with this kind of business?
Because I saw that in our area, there are only a few vendors and not everything that the majority
need is available. So I thought of building my own store to increase my income and for the

the materials needed to build my store.
6. What is the mission, vision and goal of your business?

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, AND CONCLUSIONS
This chapter presents the summary of the study, and the conclusions arrived at further the
findings of the study.
Summary
Our research paper focuses on the role of mathematical functions to society and business. We
interviewed a few business owners via messenger and face-to-face interview to understand the
role of mathematics in our society, especially in businesses, and we received five (5) responses
from the people we interviewed.
Mathematics has been there always connected with the business for a long time. Understanding
math is necessary for profitable operations and utilized flow of business. You'll achieve your
business objectives by being able to add, subtract, multiply, divide, round off, and use
percentages and fractions since it’s commonly used as a basic tool to determine your business
outcomes. Money was introduced as a universal trading holder making mathematics a huge role
in our society even more. Also, businesses must seize every profit-generating opportunity in the
current, highly competitive global market climate, which necessitates regular statistical market
studies.
Conclusions
Based on the foregoing findings, the following conclusions were drawn:
1. Based on the 5 (five) businessmen we've interviewed, the first thing they consider in building
up their business is their resources and the needs of people in that certain area. Good services by
offering delicious, affordable food and the right pricing of goods, their pricing depends on their
investment in how much they spend on their ingredients and products.
2. There may be struggles but it's already considered normal in businesses so they cope with the,
by improving their skills and giving higher-quality services to people.
3. They came up with this kind of business since there are only a few people with this kind of
business in their area. Their businesses also have a goal to earn extra income with a mission and
vision to grow their business, provide the needs of our fellow citizens, and get good impressions
from customers.
