The success of a construction project is primarily reliant on a well-planned timeline and extensive
preparation. Construction projects are more likely to fail if an adequate project plan or timeline
is not in place from the start. As a result, the following successful methods aid in the construction
process. The act of selecting applicable policies, methods, and procedures that meet the project's
goals is referred to as construction planning. In order to improve productivity, proper planning
and scheduling may include the specification of resources, project risk, and methods of
communication. A building timetable that is both particular and well-planned assures efficiency
and productivity. Construction scheduling enables you and the project team to regulate quality
standards and manage resource allocation throughout the construction process.
Saving both time and money, a consistent timetable allows each party to dedicate more time to
all operations in order to minimize delays and cost overruns. The planning phase is an important
aspect that extends through completion of the project and needs careful consideration from all
parties. Because project construction is difficult, vast, and of varying scale and variety. The
construction project plan serves as a road map that guides the team through the processes of a
project. Through determining the project scope, schedule, resource requirement, project cost
estimation, project quality and project risk management the construction process will be guided
by. Picking a certain technique and order of work to be used for a job chosen among all potential
methods and sequences. Planning aids in reducing costs by maximizing the use of existing
resources, minimizes illogical strategies, redundancy of tasks, and cross disputes, fosters
creativity and innovative thinking between construction managers, and gives the organization
competitive power. Managing the programming, planning, and construction processes is an
essential tool in both daily project management and reporting. Organizing is involved with
dividing the whole construction job and supervising different activities methodically by
distributing particular responsibilities to employees.
The critical path method or (CPM) is the most extensively adopted scheduling approach. This
technique computes the minimal project duration as well as the feasible start and finish timings
for project tasks. Indeed, many textbooks and managers consider critical route scheduling to be
the sole useable and realistic scheduling method. Because there is different critical path,
postponing operations throughout any of these critical paths may lead to the
suspended fulfillment of the project.
Considering breakthroughs in many scheduling strategies, producing a fully match plan within
the stipulated timeline and available resources utilizing various methods and tools remains a
problem. These investigations showed that more relevant procedures for getting a better
knowledge of the inherent principles of various methodologies and instruments would be
required. To address the intricacies of large-scale building project timetables, these technologies
are already integrated into software. Furthermore, the complexity of construction project might
make it difficult to grasp how to apply these many methodologies and tools when executing and
supervising the project. As a result, project managers and planners must correctly examine the
efficacy of scheduling using various methodologies and tools.
