V-Fitting Procedure in Workshop Experiment

The document provides instructions for making a V-fitting from mild steel pieces using various tools. The procedure involves filing edges to make them perpendicular, marking lines for cutting, punching dots along the lines, sawing along the lines to remove excess material, further filing, and finishing the pieces to create the V-fitting. Precautions include carefully checking perpendicularity, only using smooth files for finishing, avoiding errors during marking, securely fixing the workpiece during marking and cutting, and avoiding bending of the hacksaw.

V-FITTING
Aim: To make a V-fit from the given mid steel Pieces.
Materials Required: Mild steel flat (50mmx50 mm)
Tools and Equipment Required:
1. Bench vice
2. Steel rule
3. Try square
4. scriber
5. odd leg. caliper
6. Hack Saw Frame
7. Blades
8. Rough File.
9. smooth file
10. square File
11. Dot punch
12. Ball peen Hammer.
sequence of operations:
1. Filling
2. marking
3. punching
4. sawing
5. filling
6. Finishing

Procedure:
1. The siven mild steel flat prece in checked for given dimensions
2. one edge of given work piece is filed with rough and smooth files in
order to make all edges perpendicular to each other.
3. check the perpendicularity of each side with try square.
4. we chalk is applied on one side of the flat and dried for marking.
5. Lines ave marked according to given-figure using steel rule and
scriber.
6. using the dot punch, dots are marked lines.
7. The excess material is to be remove from the two pieces with back saw
according to marking.
8. Finally are removed by the filling on
the surface of the fitted job
Precautions:
1. The perpendicularity at edges is checked perfectly by using try square
2. Finishing is done by using smooth files only
3. Marking is done without Parallax error
4. Fix the work piece carefully and correctly according to the marking.
5. Don't bend the hack saw cutting
Result:
Thus the v-fit is made according to given dimensions.
