HR Issues Observed In This Case Study

1. Lack of Customer Satisfaction

2. Not adopting Skill-Based Pay
3. Wage Underpayment
4. Gender discrimination
5. Lack of Unions
6. Poor Workforce Planning
7. Staff Attrition
8. Lack of HRM
1. Develop a Customer Experience Program

Lack of customer satisfaction deteriorates the hotel’s

brand value. This can be improved by developing a
customer experience program in the hotel and
understanding the customer needs.
Training should be provided to employees in order to
improve their productivity and meet the customer
needs.
Through implementing this customer-oriented policy,
we can increase the customer satisfaction and get
positive reviews (Cho and Choi, 2021).
2. Provide Training

Introducing organisational training helps the

staff in handling the customers quickly and
politely during check in and check outs.
The lack of effective training leads
to deficient performance which leads to
customer dissatisfaction (Dayaram and
Fung, 2012).
Providing learning and development
activities increases the knowledge and skills
of the staff.
New recruits will feel free and confident to
work in the new place and staff will always
be self-directed.

11. Importance of HR function

In order to have high performance,
in any business HR function plays a
vital role. So, adapting HRM
in the business reduces most of
the above issues the Happy hotel is
facing.
The human resource department of
a hotel is accountable for
forecasting, acquiring, selecting,
and growing the hotel's current
and future employee needs.
Top Ten Capabilities Of A HR Director

1. Communication
Good Communication is the primary requirement of a HR function as it is a people focussed
function. They should be able to communicate effectively to people from directors to the
bottom level employee and should understand how to effectively pass the idea to the person
(Karroum, 2019).
2. Empathy and Compassion
The HR will have to deal with a variety of problems the employees are facing like salary issues,
workload, or work atmosphere. An HR should possess empathetic skills and be compassionate
while listening to the problems and should not pass on a judgment without considering the
employees point of view (Hearn, 2019).
3. Analytics
A HR should have good analytical skills. They should be able to analyse data that are available
to them, like current trends in the job market, major causes for turnover rates and how to tackle
them. They can use this skill to develop or restructure compensation plans, and develop
recruitment and retaining strategies (van Vulpen, 2020).
