Chapter I
THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
Introduction
CD (compact disc), Philips and Sony together created the compact disc, a digital optical
disc data storage format for storing and playing digital audio recordings. The first compact disc
was produced in August 1982. Then, in Japan, it was made available in October 1982 under the
name Digital Audio Compact Disc. Moreover, it absorbs the energy comes from the sunlight and
it can give electricity to any appliances. The electrical energy (electron) taken in energizes the
circuitry of a CD player. Some of these electrons can be used to create lasers, which releases
electrical energy as light. The bumps and cracks on a rotating disc are “read” by a laser, which
then transforms the light into sound. Additional electronics, like an earphone or speaker,
amplifies the sound so that it may be heard. The spinning disc is propelled by a motor, which
likewise rotates using electrical energy. Motion, music, and light are all produced by the same
thing. Also, you can avoid the expense of hiring the services of a third-party solar installer by
installing a solar power system yourself. You may be able to reduce the initial costs of
installation if you are able to design a solar panel system that meets your home's electricity
needs. Solar power has numerous benefits for our planet, particularly in terms of the
environment. from lowering energy costs and becoming fossil fuel-free to preserving our
precious water, improving air quality, and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
Rationale of the Study
In the Philippines we are facing vulnerable items such as CD’s and wire, particularly in
the residents of Bustos Bulacan where CD and wires are abundant because no one uses cd much.
As a solution to that, the researchers come up to use the CD and copper wire as materials for
making solar panel that can be used as an alternative source of electricity. CD was already used
in many studies as a material to creating solar panel.
Through this study, the residents will be able to control the reproduction of CD with and
copper wire use it as an opportunity by making solar panel that can benefit not only the
community but also the environment. The researchers chose to use these two electrical materials
due to their availability and convenience.
Statement of the Problem
The study aims to answer the following questions:
1. How well does a CD with copper wire replicate a solar panel?
2. What differentiates a solar panel made of metal from one made of CD and copper wire?
3. What items are used to make solar panels?
4. Are all the resources used in the study accessible in the community?
5. How would these solar panels serve the community?
Hypothesis
The following are the null hypothesis formulated by the researchers.
1. CD with copper wire for the production of Solar Panel is effective since it gives energy to
a resistor.
2. The difference between those is the solar panel made of CD and copper wire is that it’s
easy to install rather than the solar panel made of metal and many more.
3. We use CD, copper wire, and positive and negative wire.
4. Yes, because the community will benefit from it, which is why they are all accessible.
5. It may be able to assist in bringing the environmental and economic advantages of solar
panel to underserved communities, particularly households and small businesses with low
to moderate incomes.

Figure 1. The Conceptual Framework
Figure 1 describes the study's conceptual framework, in which the independent variable is
the CD with copper wire because it is the primary material used to make a solar panel. On the
other hand, the study used solar panels as a product that could be used in the community as the
dependent variable.
The researchers would like to determine whether copper wire and CD could serve as an
alternative source of solar panel production.
Significance of the Study
The study aims to determine the potential of CD and copper wire as alternative sources
for the production of solar panel. This study will be highly significant and beneficial to the
community, the environment, and the researchers.
This study will not only contribute to the locality of Bustos by transforming compact disc
into an alternative solar source, but it will also open up new avenues of learning and literary
development for future researchers because research improves services and treatments for you as
well as for future researchers. The production of a solar panel CD will bring a new product to the
community and help establish Colegio De Sto. Nino De Bustos. Using this study, the CSNB
community can also implement a program to reduce solar panel CD's impact.
The residents will be able to reduce the proliferation of these compact discs by converting
them into a Solar Panel due to the numerous environmental issues posed by company energy.
Scope and Delimitation
The study focuses on the possibility of using copper wire and CD as a different source to
make solar panel CD. The Bustos in barangay Poblacion, where CDs and other materials were
abundant, is the location of the investigation.
The study's objective is to ascertain whether copper wire and CD could serve as an
alternative source for solar panel CD production.
Methodology
CD and copper wire are collected in different areas. Many people decided to use it to
make solar panels to help the environment because it was so abundant. The researchers decided
to incorporate these two electrical materials into a solar panel CD that could benefit the
community as a whole. Figure 2 depicts the procedure this study followed.

Figure 2: The Research Process
The research used data from two different sources: secondary and primary. The analysis
of previously published literature served as the secondary source, with direct observation serving
as the primary source. The area of the examinations is Poblacion, Bustos, Bulacan. At Bustos,
where CD and copper wire were abundant, the necessary materials for the study were gathered.
The main procedure in the experiment is in Figure 3.

Gathering Resources: CD and copper wire were collected at Poblacion, Bustos, Bulacan. CD was
collected since it doesn’t need any more so we used it. On the other hand, copper wire was
collected by cutting available wire and collect the copper inside of it.
Putting wire: The researchers put the copper wire in the CD manually since it doesn’t need to use
machine on it and they roped it 10-20 times to easily measure the resources and parts of the two
electrical materials used in this study.
Attaching: The researcher placed the CD with copper wire into the plywood or any hard material
that can support the CD’s and they connect the copper into the other CDs to work the Solar
Panel. And also, to attain the same volts on each CDs.
Testing: It is important to test the product before finishing it because it may be hard for the
researchers to rearrange the materials. The researchers also need to use protection like gloves to
prevent the hazard that the product has.
Mixing: After the researchers tested the product, they will put acrylic resin on it to support the
CDs when the plywood or other hard material were removed. Acrylic resin is the available
material to be use because it is transparent and the CD can easily absorb energy while the acrylic
resin is there.
Drying: The researcher waited for the acrylic resin to dry to have a shiny design to the product.
And it also supports the CDs while the plywood was removed.
Loading Up Energy: Solar panel absorb energy from the sun when it shines on them. In response
to the cell's internal electrical field, this energy generates electrical charges that cause electricity
to flow and to lighten up the appliances that the researchers may use.
Placing to an Open Area: The researchers placed the solar panel in a direct sunlight. Also, it can
place to the roofs since it is the best place for solar panels and to uninterrupted sunlight
throughout the day.
Statistical Treatment
The study employed descriptive analysis to formalize the experiment's procedure. The
researchers used descriptive analysis to summarize the production of solar panels, including the
experiment's measurements. The researchers calculated the average amount of time needed to
produce a solar panel sample from test results following the descriptive analysis.
