CHAPTER-1 INTRODUCTION

We are living in the era of social media and online civilization in recent
decades online marketing has advanced enormously with IT Sector. Internet
marketing for business is one of the most important aspects in these days, as the
number of Internet users are growing all over the word, and communication
pattern and consumer behaviour are changing. The Internet is one of the most
important, and rapidly developing channels of marketing. However, its use
depends on the nature of business, products or services, as well as the target
audience.

The purpose of this project is to present how Internet can be applied to


support marketing processes. It starts with the presentation of the basic internet
marketing strategies and tools which businesses can choose from. Then, it deals
with issues of proper and efficient creation of customer experience, and, finally,
reviews the techniques of evaluation the marketing goals reach.

There are various marketing applications of the Internet. It is being


mentioned as the new medium for advertising the new channel for distributing
products; the opportunity for expansion into new markets, as well as a new way
to enhance customer service. No matter what type of business you have or
where you are located, investing in internet marketing can help you build your
business, connect with customers, and make sales.

Zepto Delivery app has emerged as one of the best online delivery
companies in the Indian marketplace. The company offers a great service in all
online media platforms. Though the company was started only two years ago, it
is way ahead of most of competitors through its relentless pursuit of perfection
and enormous amount of creativity which they put in their work.
Zepto, a start-up based in Mumbai, Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra
launched Zepto in 2021, offers a 10-minute groceries delivery service. a
company known to deliver groceries in 10 minutes. Following the COVID-19
pandemic, the popularity of online grocery delivery became increasingly
evident.

As a consequence of social distancing constraints, consumers are


converting to online grocery shopping, which is not only convenient but also
safer. During the Covid-19 outbreak, A surge in demand for delivery services
meant that groceries and other necessities would arrive in a couple of days,
creating a void for quick delivery. As a result, Zepto was created with all this
insight.

Zepto delivers groceries in ten minutes through a system of dark


storefronts and mini-warehouses, on up to 90% of orders. A dark store is a tiny
neighbourhood storehouse that customers cannot visit but purchase online to get
packaged delivery. Usually, these warehouses and cool rooms custom designed
and located to satisfy particular needs such as ease to travel, allowing delivery
boys to travel rapidly and deliver as soon as possible.

The Dark store business model enables Zepto to deliver the order more
efficiently and quickly. The dark store brings the distribution centre closer to
consumers that helps to provide more distribution choices and physically bring
the delivery products closer to the market segment. In this way, this company
has the more control over the target market and Distribution.

Zepto is growing in metro cities i.e., Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi and
yet to improve in cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune and Kolkata. The
company has its technical office in Bengaluru and operational office in
Mumbai.
CHAPTER -2

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

To begin with, as a part of the curriculum internship programme was to


be conducted for a period of one month. Given a choice one was allowed to
choose the field in which he/she was interested I chose online marketing, as
my interest and curiosity was in online marketing.
Online marketing is a valued business medium for in terms of targeting
and retaining customers. It is one of the key strategies of the business to build
brand and customers loyalty effectively. Undeniably the word Online which
also called ‘Internet’ has changed the world we are living. Before the internet
there were different type of advertising media such as Television, Radio,
Newspapers, Magazines Etc. Its primary goal was reaching the people as
many as possible and creating a brand awareness.
On the other hand, Online marketing is the component of marketing that
utilizes internet and online based digital technologies such as desktop
computers, mobile phones and other digital media and platforms to promote
products and services with less efforts and more people compare to traditional
approach.
During the Covid Pandemic while people are isolated themselves in
order keep safe from covid-19 the demand for online delivery service is
rapidly increasing. And people were increasingly use digital devices instead of
visiting physical shops, this has given the more power to consumers. Hence the
online marketing is growing enormously.

RECENT TRENDS IN ONLINE MARKETING:

Technology is rapidly getting advanced in recent times, during these


times digital trends keep changing like seasons. If you are not up to date with
the online trends, then the chance of getting behind is very high. Every year we
see the rise and fall of different trends that force the online marketing world to
evolve. Some of the main trends are:
 Websites:
Website play vital role in online marketing. It gives us to opportunity to
showcase the business offerings to target potential customers. A website can
be accessed anywhere from the world. So, people can know about the products
or services easily in their fingertips.
Website helps the business as follows;

• Wider Demographic reach
• It will act as an information source to customers
• Increase leads from Online

 YouTube Shorts:
These are one of the new ways to present the short form video content.
This will allow us to show the content in entire mobile screen for the
maximum time of one minute. YouTube will reach out to the content creators
whose content has reached to most no of people and generated the most views
such content creators will get rewards.
If Business can able to create the attractive content on marketing their
product or services, then that will reach out to maximum no of general public
and helps to create the brand awareness. Even though the objectives of the
online marketing are not fulfilled, if the content is engaged then there is
possibility of getting some revenue from YouTube shorts. It can be an
alternative source of income to the business.

 Social Media
Social media is now one of the primary platforms to every business to
promote their products pr services while interacting with the general public
through famous online media like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram. These
platforms allow us to upload photos, videos and audios relating to the products
or services that can be accessed from any part of the world.

INDUSTRY PROFILE

Internet marketing has become essential with the internet being assessable
by all the people based on this we know their buying decision on the basis of
the what they look online. Nowadays every single industry’s growth rate is
around 5-10%, but online / Digital media marketing growing with 40%
development rate. These kinds of reports are enough to advise the Online
Marketing for business.
Internet / Digital marketing is enormously developing in India. E-
commerce service’s main marketing media is online marketing, with help of
this industry opened up to various segment of commercial like B2B (Business
-to - Business), C2C (Consumer -to- Consumer), D2C (Direct -to- Consumer).

no longer sufficient.
 In Financial Year 2020-21 Internet marketing sector has a market

the 500 billion market size by the end of the 2024.
 Compare to the traditional marketing, online marketing requires less
cost and more effective. It enables opportunities to business tracking
the consumers, communication with consumers

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Online Marketing consists of all marketing efforts that makes use of all
electronic media or the internet. It is consolidated by a huge variety of
products & services and techniques, where internet plays the main role as a
vital promotional medium besides the traditional radio, TV and mobile means.
The way some companies view online marketing from narrow perspective
despite knowing the present trends in market.

Need of the study

In recent years traditional marketing approaches are fading away due to the
advanced development of online marketing and Information technology.
Online marketing is new approach of marketing goods and services using web
technology, social medias, mobile phones and other digital standards.
Growth Of Internet usage in India:
According to Wikipedia over 80 Crores people are using internet in India,
this is the great platform to reach out the people who are looking for business.
People use the internet to find all kind of information about the products and
services they are looking for.
As per IAMAI (Internet and Mobile Association of India) recent report
titled “Internet in India” about 346 million Indians are doing online
transactions includes online payments and e-commerce platform. India has
overtaken the United States digital transactions of 331 million.
