Kartikey and I am not going to make you laugh. Or am I? Ok How many of you like watching cricket? Like Inida’s
matches….. How many of you watched the last India v/s Pakistan match which took place on last Sunday? …. What a
thriller it was, what a thriller. I still get goosebumps remembering those knocks of Kohli and Pandya. Now just imagine a
scenario where India would not be able to play cricket at that level in the first place. What if India was not free? What if
India was still divided into princely states? Now everybody would have guessed the topic. Let me give you another hint.
Have you watch Avengers? Do you know Iron Man, Tony Stark? The person I am going to talk about is known as the Iron
Man of India. Now toh surely everybody would have guessed the topic. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Yesterday was his 147 th
birth anniversary. Ab kuch bacche soch rahe honge ki isko itna bhi nahi pata ki freedom Gandhi ji ki vajah se mili thi.
Mujhe pata hai. Par unhone akele hi sab kuch thodi kiya tha. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel also had a big hand in getting India
freed. He held the position of President of Indian National Congress. He was also deployed as the 1 st deputy prime
minister of India after independence. At the same time he held the post of Home Minister of India. Ab thoda personal ho
jaate hai. Matlab meri life ke baare mein nahi. Unki life ke baare mein. His full name was Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel.
He was born on 31st October 1875 in Nadiad, Kheda present in the countryside of Gujarat. He pursued law and became a
successful lawyer. A strange fact about him, Unhone 10 th class 22 ki age mein pass kari thi and people thought that he
was an unambitious man destined to have a commonplace job. But see what he did for our country. He combined all 565
princely states into a united India. This accounts for the first lesson from his life. Education is important. But it is not as
such that if you fail to attain it or attain it at later age then you’ll fail in life. He married to Jhaverben Patel in 1891. What
names no Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel and Jhaverben Patel. Full Gujarati vibes. Now lets come to the best part. The
Story. Once while fighting a case, a slip was handed to him which stated that his wife had died. She was suffering from
cancer for quite a long time. Inspite of a successful surgery she died. Quite sad no, not for him though. He continued to
fight the case and went on to win it. Only after the case he disclosed the news to others. This accounts for the 2 nd lesson
from his life. People will come in your life and then go away. The only thing that should remain constant is you. You
should never go away from your life. To honor his works the tallest statue in the world The Statue of Unity was
dedicated to him on 31st October 2018. He was a man of great importance as India would not be what it today is without
him. Also greats such as Kohli, Dhoni, Pandya, Mithali Raj, Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana would not be able to
play.

Thank you.
