Definitely not. Idk but i found it quite convoluted to read and i still got lost even if i read map
whenever i travel to a new road. Maybe it’s not my strong suit
Would you visit a country because of its geographical location?
Definitely yes i’m always curious about the place that i find unfamiliar with, and the special
geographical location makes it even more mysterious. I always want to explore new places
located far away from my country rather than our national tourist attractions. SInce ihave
already been familiar with Vietnamese traditions and cultures, I wanna set foot in stranger
places, maybe in an opposite hemisphere or in another continent
Boring things
What will you do when you feel bored?
lots of thing-watching news, youtube -keep abreast of what’s happening around me. talk to my
friends and family- in order to kill time
What kind of things are boring to you?
top of my head- waiting for someone, listening to a long speech, on top of that, I also get easily
bored by same daily routine.
Whom do you think get bored easily, the young or the old?
the young
-get exposed to a significant amount of means of entertainment, technology and stuff. without it,
they will feel empty and bored
-active can’t sit around all day=> have to be moving all the time
Do you think school is boring?
no- school is only boring to the students who haven’t made the choice to engage. Students have
to engage their mind proactively with the subject to learn the material. For example, when i have
interest in any subjects, i will pay attention to them, listen carefully and take details note
Meeting places
Where do you usually meet with your friends?
university
Do you think there are some places more suitable for meeting with others?
To my mind, it all comes down to how formal the meetings are. For casual occasions, I guess
cafés are great because they are pretty chilled out. For conferences and dates, restaurants or
any fancier venues make more sense for sure.
Have the meeting places changed now from when you were young?
hen I was a kid, I spent hours playing hide and seek and soccer with my gang on the street. As
an adult, I fancy quieter and more comfortable places, like a coffee shop you know, where I can
have a talk with my friends or sometimes negotiate with my clients.
Science
Do you like science
to be honest, not a big fan of science- a closed book to me
acquire an in-depth understanding of the world=> perplexing, not my strong suit=> struggle to
have a good grasp of those scientific ideas
social subjects: literature, geography, history
When did you start to learn about science
way back in the early part of my school years- compulsory subjects
primary school maths, physics and biology
at first, had interest in them=> more complicated , grown out of it
Which science subject is interesting to you
have little interest in .. => single out one out of all the subjects, biology
=>learn about how the human body works. I was also keen on hearing facts about animal
biology
What kinds of interesting things have you done with science
in secondary school , got to do a dissection of a worm.
sounds gross, but it was helpful for educational purposes. =>did learn a lot about its different
body parts -
-have a phobia of worm and insects.. found intriguing to discover their body parts
Do you like watching science TV program?
No, not really. As I briefly mentioned before, anything science related is not my cup of tea. The
one exception is the Discovery channel or nature or wildlife documentaries somehow arouse
my interest. Because the content is very accessible, comprehensive and not heavily scientific
What did you learn in the science class?
2. Do you want to know more about science?
Sports program?
Do you like watching sports programs on TV?
not a big fan of …
fun-watch with family -more interesting-add more enthusiasm to the game
DO you like to watch live sports games?
not a sport lover
alone-prefer watching fiction movies or reality shows
watch sports game with my fr or families
getting tickets to these events and then actually getting to them can be a bit expensive and
demanding
quite crowded and the atmosphere there is just not sth I want to be part of
Who do yo like to watch sports games with?
I suppose whenever I do -parents (have them on TV)
-gather around at my friends house (dicuss matches and their aftermath from time to time)
What kín of games do you exoect to watch in the future?
good question- with the development of technology and Internet, some e-sprts are gaining
popularity these days
=>debatable whether they are counted or not => if there were people that were playing a game
that i had interest in online, I would probably watch it
Watch
Do you wear a watch?
yes -but seldomly- carry my phone all the time wherever go, so i find little reason to wear a
watch, the smartphone almost completely replaced the need for watch since it’s easy to check
the time
just use watch in the situation that I’m not allowed to use my phone, for example, sitting for the
exam-keep track of time
Have you ever got a watch as a gift?
Yes when i was 7 years old, on my birthday- my dad bought me a watch for a gift because he
wanted me to have a memorable gift since dad-work far away from home=> remind me of him
=> near and dear to me Brand’s name: casio- quite popular watch back then
Why do some people wear expensive watches?
well i think there is a wide range of reasons why people wear luxurious watches. I guess the first
reason is that not only expensive watches but luxurious items such as jewelry or handbags
represents weath and style. Because of social media and constant exposure, they want to show
of their weath and perfect lifestyles with the hope that they will receive a lot of attention like
shares, likes, comments.
Wearing a watch represents matureness. Wearing an expenisve watch is actually commom in
businesses in order to be taken seriously
DO you think it is important to wear watch?
i guess I don’t see it that way because i recken a watch is somehow obsolete for some people
and you can use your phones for replacement. However, in some special industries like
business, doctor, laywer, banker, i assume wearing a watch is still significantly essential since
they are expected to wear a watch in order to fit the industry’s image
Do watches have style?
Answer 1:As every other accessory, yes of course they do. There are some companies that
come to my mind like Swatch or Casio that are forever classics, and from time to time they even
change their style, partnering with a pop culture hit like Marvel or Hello Kitty and designing
some of these younger, fresher watches for a younger audience. That means that with time,
watches follow trends and try to appeal to different generations of clients.
What is the difference between traditional watches and smart watches?
Answer 1:All the functions, of course. On a smartwatch, we can read text messages, change the
skin, switch from a traditional look to a digital one, measure our vitals like pulse or blood
pressure, send a voice message, and so on. There are so many options we can access from a
smartwatch, and the traditional one is just a timepiece.

Not until recently do I almost always sit down for a long time
rushing off my feet with projects and essays to complete
=>often sit for more than 5 hours per day to keep on track
Do you feel sleepy when you sit down?
I think it depends
-If I have had enough sleep or have sth important to do, I rarely get sleepy

=>sitting down and not moving much, my mind senses it as a signal of bedtime or a nap which
makes me drowsy
When you were a kid did you usually sit on the floor?
Yes- usually sat on the floor as a child-most of the time sitting cross-legged to play with my toys
my mom rarely let me sit on a chair or anywhere high, for the fear that I might fall off and get
hurt
Old buildings
Have you ever seen some old buildings in the city?
Well definitely => Hanoi has made a name for itself with the Old spare, yk a place where you
can see a significant number of ancient houses, apartments => I think some may be more than
100 years old
Do you think we should keep old buildings in cities?
depends
If we’re talking about old buildings that have cultural and historic value or some unique
architectural style =>be kept around for the purpose of tourism
when it comes to buildings that are unsafe and in dilapidated condition=> demolish them and
build more high-rise buildings to solve the housing problems in cities
Do you prefer living in an old building or a modern house?
a modern one without a shadow of doubt
enjoy the conveniences of modern, high-rise buildings with cutting edge technology and state-of
the art facilities such as air conditioning
I have witnessed numerous degraded old buildings go up in flames, and just for that, I would
never think of setting my foot in these places.
Are there any buildings you want to see in the future? Why?
Yes- been longing for paying a visit to Landmark 81 in Ho chi minh city- the highest building in
Vietnam
getting to the top of the building and get a view of the whole city is one of the things in my to-do
lost when i travel to HCM city
Computers
In what conditions would you use a computer?
Basically, use it everyday-most of the time for studying including writing reports on group
assigments, creating a powerpoint,.. Besides, when i want to unwind and let my hair down, i’d
use it for entertainment such as watching a movie or just simply scrolling down my fb feed
When was the first time you used a computer?
way back to my primary school, had a computer class once a week- we were all exhilarated
about this class because computer was like a luxury back then, very few family can afford it
taught us how to turn on the computer, how to type and how to carry out some basic operation
such as copy and paste
What will your life be like without computers?
It will be full of doom and gloom
most of my study are now being done with my computer=>without it, i couldn’t finish anything
And besides, I tend to use computers to do other things, such as watching sitcoms, online
shopping, or just scrolling social media websites. To be honest Just can’t image what my life will
be like without my computer.
In what conditions would it be difficult for you to use a computer?
have difficulty in performing tasks related to Excel
assigned tasks that i need to do with Excel=> a tough job for me, have little knowledge about
how to use it and it has tons of features
=>have an excel course in the near future because it is an essential skill in the workplace

-absent minded -losing my things or just forgetting where they are
Would you keep old things for a long time?
depends on its importance to me
have little importance attached to it- lost or gave it away
near and dear-keep it as long as I could
for example, gave me a watch as a birthday gift
Where do you usually keep things you need?
a cabinet with different drawers for different purposes
one drawer for medicines -headache, catch a flu
one for my make up and beauty stuffs- hairdresser, hairdryers,..
one for other things
=>great way to find the thing that i need, exact place to look for it
absent-minded
were it not for my cabinet, it would take me a long time to search things that i need
Part 2&3 (20)

Follow question: Describe a difficult time in your life
You should say:
What decision it was
What difficulties you faced how you made the decision
How often do you make difficult decisions?
And explain why it was a difficult decision.
-the decision in which i hesitated whether i should join the project that my best fr invited me.
-Its a project named Vietnam Australia Innovation Network which tackle problems in each
country using the help from both nations.
-When she invited me, the organization was planning to hold a webinar using technology-
combat some of agricultural issues in Vietnam such as blockchain, reducing food loss and
waste
Hearing the keyword innovation from the name..fascinated me-my major
reluctant-had my hands full with other things…
wonder if i could complete it…-agriculture-a brand new field to me
reconsider again, the benefits outweight the disadvantages- made up my mind to join
=>a fruitful decision-accumulated new knowledge about techonology and agriculture, broaden
my network and boost my innovation in some ways
Part3:
1. What decisions do people usually make in their daily lives?
well minor decisions- as basic as decisions you make in your daily life such as choosing what
outfit you would wear to work, choosing what to have for lunch,.. However, people do have to
make big decisions in their lives including where to live, how to spend money wisely and
efficiently, what to do as a job…
=>The way we make life changing decisions shapes who we are
2. Which is easier making a decision by yourself or making a decision after group
discussion?
My take on this is that, making decisions by yourself may be faster, but you would find yourself
not having as many ideas and less likely to reach the most judicious decision. I believe
when the decision is made by a group rather than a single individual, the implementation of it
will be easier because group members will be invested in the decision with different ideas
based on their background and experiences.
After thousands of decisons that i’ve made, come to realization that i would prefer making a
decision by myself because dispite their advice-still choose the first thing that come to my mind.
For example, buy clothes.
However. big decisions, good to hear advice from other people
3. Why are many young people unwilling to follow their parents’ advice?
young people’s role models have changed
-advice no longer produce the outcome they desire or might be inappropriate to their new
living environments or new ways of thinking
=>social media influencers are gaining their popularity, by addressing the issues young people
are facing, providing a voice for the one who feel seperated from traditional norms, most
of which deprive from their parents.
For example, dye their hair
4. Do Vietnamese children have difficulties at school?

running the business
broaden my networking, push myself to the limits- well-rounded person
win- have better opportunities in the future
Part 3

There are a wide variety of competition on TV but i guess the most commonly known is singing
contest. love listening to music- unwind- enjoy all of the songs and the battles among them. =>
temporarily forget all the pressures and worries from our daily life
There is quite a wide variety of such shows in Vietnam, catering to audiences of different ages
and interests: beauty, cooking, dancing, singing, acting, fashion designing, investing, you name
it. Surprisingly, they are all equally popular among local viewers and many are dying to
participate in them.
2 Why are competition shows popular?
entertaining, intriguing battles -a great appeal to audiences
For one thing, these shows are thrilling and most Vietnamese people are keen to compete. For
another thing, the prizes of such shows are appealing. In addition to monetary rewards, the
winners of these competitions will surely become popular, have a promising career and be
entitled to red carpet treatments wherever they go.
3 What kinds of industries need competition? Why?
I believe establishing a competition or at least competitive activities is essential all kinds of
industries =>promotes creativity and innovation. For example in marketing industry, come up
with a mkt campaign to develop mkt strategy for a new product=> beneficial for business.
-give employees motivation to work, a competitive enviroment, win=> prize=> incentivized to
work harder
4 Do you think it is necessary to encourage people to compete with others in
companies?

together where she’s taking care of customer -manage the whole business-profit, cost, even
marketing
love her-go along with her- work well together if we have a chance
Part 3
1 What kinds of family businesses are common in Vietnam?
-elder or child care
It is a popular business model because they do not need a place to operate your business other
than their own home greatly lowers the cost of operations.
-Property rental
If you own more than one property or have the resources to buy a second property, you can
begin to rent your property to other people.-manage the property

Yes to some extents, because
-work with people you trust. when you work with family, you have intimate knowledge of one
another. memories -busy-spend little time with their families=> spend time together while also
earning incomes
No
-you might not be able to take a family vacation. If your co-workers are your family members,
traveling together would mean leaving the business unattended.
Business disputes can become personal. An argument at home can continue in the workplace,
and a business disagreement can cause tension at home.
3 Why do people want to do family business?
-don’t have to go out hunting for a job-job provider instead of job seeker
-bring family members closer and allow you to build something together. These businesses can
create wealth and opportunities, along with a legacy for future generations
4 What benefits are there when working for big companies?

the people may be listening o the story , rude toward others
Why do some people dislike giving their opinions?
Are there any apps designed for collecting opinions about products or services?
Beyond my knowledge
Why do people like to express their opinions on the Internet nowadays?
Accessibility is the main reason: no prerequisites and no limitations, easy to put your opinion out
there and easy for people to see/read/hear your opinion. People can post at any moment and
anywhere they may be.
There are no boundaries with Social Media as with other types of Media. How far your opinion
goes is dependent on how impactful and relevant it is at the time, how it is expressed and
portrayed to the public, not on geographical limitations of controlled printed media distribution or
radio stations or TV shows.

It is a variety show called “Running Man” that I would like to talk about as my favourite
game show.
Running Man is a fun-to-watch variety show where the MCs and guests will strive to
complete clever games and missions at a landmark to win the race. All of the
participants of the show are celebrities, such as famous MCs, singers, actors,
actresses, models, comedians, thereby making it capture the public’s attention.
There are countless funny moments in the show which make me laugh to tears. I
remember in one episode, the contestants played a telepathy game. Two players from
one team must wear headphones with loud music so that it is impossible to hear what
the other person says. The one giving questions must choose one question out of ten,
while the other person answering it must choose one answer out of ten. If the question
and answer didn’t match, they could not earn points. I bursted into laugh from the
beginning of this episode till the end. The contents of the questions and answers were
so creative and funny, and the mismatching of the players made everything so hilarious.
Watching this show is really amusing and entertaining.
This game show was created originally in Korea and has become extremely popular in
the community of K-pop fans. Because of its enormous popularity, Vietnam, as well as
many other countries like China or Thailand, bought the copy rights of this game from its
producer and made the local version. Even though Running Man Vietnamese version is
not as good as the original Korean version, I still love and enjoy this game show.

condition got infected with covid 19. As I knew, she engaged in a project that raised funds for
the people who were in need. She was the leader of foreign affairs department, which amazed
me. She invited me to join the project as a member of foreign affairs department but i was
reluctant because i was not sure whether i was cut out for it or not. I was caught between two
stools whether i should join or refuse her offer.
However, she encouraged me to give it a shot. She said you’d never know you are good at it
unless you try, which inspired me and led to me making a decision to have a go at it.
The reason why she inspired me was because she’s well versed at anything. Before having this
position, she was also the head of the social media department. So i wanna be like her. She
also said that even though she was in charge of this position, she still had to accumulate new
knowledge and skills about this field, which was awe-iínpring to me
After i joined the project as member of foreign affairs department, i found all of the tasks
challenging, yet interesting and awesome. So i tried my very best to complete the tasks that i

It should be incumbent upon our teachers to set some good behavior standards for others by

I would like to share with you about a really pleasant experience in an English class I had in my
high school.
- Hardly have time to study with native English teacher.
- American teacher – Fullbright programme.
- Tiana- young- great energy.
- delivered an amazing lecture in English about how she thinks we all should learn
languages through watching films.
Throughout two hours, he explained to us the process of learning a language and how films can
serve as an effective way to immerse in a language. Basic elements like vocabulary and
grammar can be easily absorbed if we focus on dialogs on a TV show. So in the long run, our
overall language skills can be improved. This helps us learn any languages effortlessly in a
short period of time. At first, we all were skeptical about the ideas he introduced, however, after
watching a short video to practice and doing a trial test, we were all convinced that learning by
movie was not hard at all and we could apply this to enhance our performance at school.
I enjoyed this lesson so much because I find it particularly effective to me. I always felt
demotivated when learning by the traditional methods and my results were not desirable. But
when I tried learning English by using my favorite movies, you know what?
My English got better and better and very soon I am able to remember thousands of new words
and write really complicated essays. Now, I even proudly say that I have mastered the English
language.

language teacher has to know the way to make the language easier for students to absorb. To
do that, communication skills plays a vital role as the teacher can convey lessons in a way that
is effective and easy to understand. Last but not least, a sense of humor would be great
because it can grab students’ interest and attention
3. Do you think grammar is important when learning foreign languages?
Of course it is. Whether it is grammar, vocabulary or pronunciation, we have to pay equal
attention to each of them to master the language. Maybe at the first stage of learning a
language, grammar may not be a central focus since familiarizing yourself with the sound and
pronunciation proves to be more effective. However, when you are more comfortable with the
language, and want to communicate then grammar plays an essential role since, without
grammar, you can just utter broken sentences which may or maynot understandable but are
surely unprofessional

I think the answer is yes because firstly you have the chance to teach your own mother tounge
and earn money from it, which i find it amazing. Secondly, you have more opportunies to travel
and experience cultures in various countries. For example, if you are able to teach English, you
can travel to numerous nations to teach it to native citizens. Last but not leaset, you can
communicate to a plethora of students, which is awesome

When and where did it happen?
How long you were in the traffic jam?
What you did while waiting?
And explain how you felt when you were in that traffic jam
I’m going to talk about one of the worst journeys of mine. If my memory serves me right, it was
last week on Monday morning that I had to drive to school early. So usually my class starts at
9:30am but that day my lecturer had some personal reasons and changed the schedule earlier
to around 8am, which meant i had to leave my apartment at 7:30 because it usually takes me 30
mins to arrive. However, not until i left did i realize that it was during the rush hours. I said to
myself that i should have beat the traffic to avoid congestion. Having said that, as i expected,
the traffic was heavily congested. As i recall, i got help up in the traffic jam for about one hour,
which doubled the amount of time it takes me to go to school. And what’s worse is that it rained
that day, which just exacerbated the traffic situation. Due to the rain, i had no choice but to do
nothing, just watching the traffic and trying to get through the crowd as much as possible. I have
to say that it was the worst experience ever because i detest not only traffic jam but also the
rain. The combination of these two just drove me up the wall and i felt really cranky and
desperate to get out of there.
1. Which vehicles are more likely to be in a traffic jam, cars or buses?
2. If you were in a traffic jam, would you prefer to be in a car or a bus?
3. What do you think of people who always drive their car, even when they could just as
easily use public transportation?
4. Do you feel that traffic congestion in your hometown is better, or worse than it used tobe?
5. Do you think only the government has the power to manage the problem of traffic
jams?
Describe a place in your country that you would like to recommend to
visitors/travelers
You should say:
What it is: Da nang-the city itself is a colorful burst of energy between its fast modernization and

the next morning=> small-make some contributions to protect the environment
- And explain what your thoughts were about this
imprinted on my mind- dump plastic trash into the water and not aware of the negative impact of
their actions => be more environmentally conscious=> at the grassroot level
government should allocate more money for recycling programs and educating residents about
the importance of protecting the environment as well as consequences of littering
=>Had it not been for garbage, Ha long bay would have been a much more stunning landscape
Part 3
1. Do you think we should use plastic products?
Yes to some extents since it’s still one of the most economical and easy way to preserve food.

amount of money on purchasing vegetables
-believe that it’s much safer, when planting her own vegetables, we can consume them safe in
the knowledge that it doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals from pesticides. -Nowadays a
considerable number of farmers focus solely on their personal profits and use chemicals to

opportunities to plan veg-and eat them - dont need to go to the market=> economical way to say
money, eat it safe in the knowledge that they are free pesticides
especially due to covid 19 pandemic and its lockdown, people are restricted to go outside for
shopping => the reason why they come up with planting their own vegetables still have vege
food to eat
3. Do you think it’s good to let kids learn how to plant?
essential to teach children about farming and planting
because most kids nowadays especially in city areas know a lot about technology but little
about planting => isolated from nature
If…=> could get close to nature and really observe the growth of plant=> appreciate life (life is
beauty)
know how it actually develops from a seeds
=>important value for the children
a great physical activity- fun and productive, helps them to not only relax but also accumulate
knowledge and skills about sth else apart from academic learning.

Using a calendar with time slots allows some people to allocate a certain amount of their day to
these activities before moving on to other less routine tasks.
To Do” lists. In fact, some people use their calendars to literally schedule their lists into their
day.
This method of working ensures that important jobs do not get left off the list and that
everything that needs to be accomplished actually gets done. If not, left over duties may be
added to the next day’s calendar list of items to do.
Helping us Stay on Task
Calendars play an important role in our daily work to help us stay on task as well as be
productive and prioritize. By using them to schedule our daily work we can avoid distractions
and get back on track when interrupted.

You should say:
I have made many friends who are from different cultures (most of them are cyber friends but..
Who he/she is -Diana- met in person
Where he/she is from- from the US
How you knew him/her
worked as a volunteer at Vietnam Museum of Ethonogy -got an opportunity to be the tour guide
for her and her mother
I introduced Vietnamese cultures with different ethnic groups to her. At the same time -US
culture
-get on like a house on fire- share a lot in common
during our conversation -taken aback by the fact that she had a car driving license -didnt have a
motorbike driving license, so did most of Vietnamese people at my age => that’s the difference
between Asia and Western cultures. There motorbike is not widely used, car is one of the most
popular means of transport. Young people there lead a more independent lifestyle =>
reasonable why she could drive a car at that very young age
And explain how you feel about him/her
Felt over the moon to have a friend like her who belongs a different culture but has interest in
other cultures and religions -travel different places in the world like India, Thailan=> jealous

In the era of technology, we can easily connect and interact with other people from different
cultures through the Internet. Nowadays there are various social media platforms such as FB,

-traditional way would be to read books related to it, watch movies or maybe travel to that
places to actually get to know the people there
2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of cultural diversity?
When talking about the benefits, cultural diversity makes our world much more interesting. If
there was only one culture in the world, it would have been a really boring place.
-Act as a change that makes people curious about each other. Every country has it own culture
and one can travel to other countries to experience their cuisine, open your eyes with different
lifestyles..
when it comes to drawbacks, challenge in communication
has its own language
3. How can traditional culture and other cultures coexist?
In the era of globalization, only when every member of society puts in their effort can traditional
and other cultures coexist
-followers of both cultures should show the same respect and understanding of each other
-in addition, the generation gap also plays a significant role in the coexistence of modern and
traditional cultures
for example, youngers should teach current concepts to seniors. older people should transfer
their traditional values from generation to generation
Describe a photo you took that you are proud of
You should say:
When you took it
almost 1 month ago, at the beginning of November=> My close friends and I made a decision to
have a trip to Ta xua
Where you took it
TamDao is a mountainous district, located on Son La, the northwest of the Tam Dao mountain
range. ->5 hour to reach by car
Then rent motorbikes.
on the way up to the top, I was taken aback of the breath-taking landscape there that i had to
ask my friends/driver to pull over so that i could take a picture of it
What is in this photo
The view there is in awe- magnificent mountains, clouds were moving on the mountainside as
well as colorful houses on the top of the mountain=> out of this world
And explain why you are proud of it
took proud in myself because i could capture such a wonderful view in a picture like that
look stress-free -feel peace in that photo
Had it not been for the trip and my artistic taste, i wouldn’t have been taken such a stunning pic
like that
Part 3
1. Why do some people like to record important things with photos?
photos are one of the best ways to keep past memories alive. no matter how indelible the
memories are , it would fade away somehow over time=> whenever we look at photographs, we
cannot help but remember the events and people happened during that time.
-Also photographs help to share our experiences with others =>social media..
2. What can people learn from historical photographs?
the successes and failures of our ancestors
-a living proof of human ingenuity and progress (how the country has developed over decades)
-show how and where we failed
photos of rich forests in the past at places occupied by high rise buildings show our architectural
achievements but at the same time demonstrate how we sacrificed our environment to achieve
the same
3. Is taking photos the best way to remember something?
not really
not a perfect memory retention tool
Snapping too many pictures could actually harm the brain's ability to retain memories.
Supporting idea:
Supporting idea: how we hold our phone, framing the photo to make sure people are smiling
and the background is to our liking, ensuring the image isn't blurry — all of which uses up
cognitive skills or attentional resources that could otherwise help us encode or retain that
memory.
Main idea 2: we're so distracted by the process of taking a photo that we miss the moment
altogether.
4. Which is better, taking photos or keeping a diary?
hard to say- depends on what types of thing you want to remember
If it’s about your emotions about sth or about details of a story => diary is the better option
when it comes to scenery or breathtaking landscape => photos as it can demonstrates the real
beauty

Had no idea whether i was cut out for it but with my friend’s encouragement, I made a decision
to join and i have to admit it was such a tough job for me
=>writing email to companies to request for sponsorship or collaboration
writing is in my element but this is just sth requiring more professional knowledge , sth that i
have never done before => sometimes i felt low spirited and disheartened
Who helped you do it 20s
my bf always lended me a helping hand whenever i was in need with different tasks that i had
difficulties in, I would ask her
well versed at it
Had it not been for her, I wouldn’t have managed to complete all of the tasks
And how you felt when you succeeded 20s
a great sense of achievement and over the moon because not only did i manage to complete it
but also gained more knowledge and skills about Foreign Affair department
Part 3
1. Is it easy to become a successful person?
depends
with a person who have a good appearance or a good family background
born with a silver spoon in your mouth=>have a good educational foundation =>better future
propects
not really because I believe in order to have a great deal of determination and hard work
not only do you have to persevere with your plans, with what you are doing but also put effort
into it
2. Would you do charity when you succeed?
Definitely
do charity => my money can be used to make a world a better place
have positive impact on both my physical and mental health =>putting my money towards sth
good can boost your self-esteem and make you more satisfied with your life
3. Is there a lot of competition with others trying to achieve the same goals?
happen anywhere at university or at work
-a position =>get promoted
-scholarship
Yes, there is. That’s why people always have a lot of pressure in their life and they have to try
hard continuously. The person who makes no effort or who gives up even before trying has no
chance to succeed. Whereas, successful people are those who are not afraid of taking risks and
always find a light in the darkness.
Should people set goals for themselves?
it is of vital importance for all of us ro have targets, aims regardless of studying or working
Without it, you’d become aimless -walking dead or a zombie, doing without any purposes in
mind
-Setting goals is a great way for you to have a clear mind about what you should do, so that you
can break it into several parts, steps and steps to achieve it, reaching=> go into the next steps
there are no time limit deadlines, easy to procrastinate dont work hard
-sense of achievement => important
How would you define success
when it comes to definition of success could be vaired from person to person
+super wealthy => have a lot of money
+real harmonious and happy family
have support and love from family=>successful ><weathy people feel miserable-broken lonely
=>at the end of the day, you realize no one’s around you =>feel isolation and depression, which
could be the number one killer =>have support=>achievement
+do sth u like =>success can get recognition from other people’
+having a heathy body could be a success
healthy is the foundation for everything
cannot enjoy other things..=> a success person have a healthy body
I should be better than I was yesterday. And it could be measured in many aspects like skills,
relationship with others, how I treat strangers. I tend not to juxtapose myself and others since
there will always be someone who is better than me at something. That thought drags me down!
Instead, I try to better myself. With that, I don’t get a bruised ego!
How can we judge whether young people are successful nowadays
criteria could be very different
-whether this young people could do sth he or she enjoys no matter he’s an artist, delivery guy
=>successful in his own area=> do what you like and like what you are doing
-positive additide to his work =>a great sense of achievement
have a high salary but you’re always complaining about your job, stressful, depressed at sth
he/she doesnt like=> is not successful
Are successful people often lonely?
hard to say- depends
business, technology -lonely top one best of the best , IQ is beyond normal people=> it’s hard
for anyone to understand you =>hard to find people who are like-minded=> lonely (some
genius)
talking about success in terms of family then I think the answer would be no since they got the
support and love from their family => have loving happy family members, never feel isolated,
lonely at all

Describe a time you made a decision to wait for something
You should say:
When it happened
Tell you from the jump
At the end of last year- my PC at home processed tasks and ran at an extremely low speed, if I
use a significant number of websites at the same time, it would show signs of lagging-ran out of
battery
At the time, my study and work required me to perform many tasks at the same time, which
rendered my PC no longer suitable =>the reason why I decided to purchase a laptop ..
However, there was an increase in the demand for laptops back then due to Covid 19 pandemic
when students needed a laptop to have online courses, which was the leading driver of a
surging increase in laptop price
Who you were with-bf
What you were waiting for
Made a decision to wait for the price to go down => 2 months, after that I started to see signs of
decline in its price
My bf told me to purchase, I’ve been struggling with the low speed of my Pc for 2 months and I
couldn’t stand it anymore=> buy a laptop with a much lower price than before
And explain how you felt about the decision
Made a right decision-found difficulties in using PC-such a tough job for me, I still decided to
wait for the price to drop
Worth the waiting=>had it not been for my decision to wait, I wouldn’t have been able to save a
sum of money like that
Part3
What do people in your country often do while waiting?
Listen to music -cheer up-kill time
Read newspaper
Mobile phone-watch some videos, play some mobile games
spend time scrolling through social media applications on their phones while they are waiting for
something. People like to be aware of the new trends and they also find such applications to be
entertaining
2. Why do some people like a slow-paced life?
-First kind of person who kinda are keen on this lifestyle is Senior citizens
Working for many years-stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city
Retreat to the countryside, suburbs-enjoy retirement life
Easily tired =>couldn’t stay under pressure
-the young -tired of the rat race in the city-want to find the balance between life and work
, live in the moment and discover life as it is
3. Is being patient good for people? Why?
A virtue that everyone should have these days
-Put up with people-avoid conflict- get into arguments because of their impatience=>waiting in
the line=>say sth harsh to the ppl in front of time=>cause fights
Being patient helps people stay calm in difficult situations and stay in control of their emotions,
whereas impatient ones can easily lose emotional control and get into arguments
-Interpersonal skill=> listen to other people patiently-know what they actually need and we can
help the
-Not likely to make mistakes
=>do sth in a hurry>haste makes waste=> make some error in yours study or your work
4. Are people less patient now than people in the past? Why?
kinda a trend, become less and less patient
With technological advancements, they have become accustomed to getting things instantly.
For example, people can now book flight tickets, order food, or transfer money with just the click
of a button. So, when they have to wait for something that would take more time than usual, it
makes them really impatient.
-influence of social media- competition in social media is so fierce- attract people’s attention-
short videos instead of long videos like Tv shows => watch videos less than 30s
focus only be for 30s=> more than that=>not pay attention to these kinds of materials
seen a lot of short videos introduce about the books or movies =>a sign to show that people
becoming less and less patient
Describe something you had to share with others
You should say:
What it was -an online Maths course, taught by a renowned Maths teacher
His lessons would be delivered via Facebook, accompanied with the learning materials
Who you shared it with- my roommate-have same goals and got on well with each other
Why you had to share it with others
In my last year at high school -had to prepare for the university entrance exam, wanted to brush
up on our knowledge on Maths=> the course I mentioned was relatively costly=> made a
decision to share it with my roommate so that we can save money for a rainy day or save
money for other purposes like shopping
She is one of my closest roommates- we had the same goals and got on well with each other =>
seemed fine to share with her although it was quite inconvenient because we had to create a
cloned account and constantly switch from my fb account to that one to study the lecture
And explain how you felt about it
Worth it, after sharing this course, it fostered our friendship=> helped and supported each other
with challenging exercises
=>Not until this did I realize the significant importance of sharing, which is sth that I always find
burdensome and annoying
Part 3
1 Do you think kids like to share? Why?
Not really
-seldom capable of true empathy under the age of six. The power to possess sth is a natural
part of a child’s development and the concepts of sharing, lending and borrowing are maybe too
complex for them to understand
They just care for themselves and their possessions and do not think about what the other child
wants or feels
=>kids at a small age are more likely to keep things to themselves
2 How can parents teach their children to share?
-I think parents could do this by actually making children share responsibilities and things at
home. For example, young children should be made to share a room.
-the parents themselves can play cooperative games with their children, which is a great way to
reinforce the concept of sharing in a fun, relaxed environment
3 What do you think is the benefit of sharing for children?
Short-term ones -gain more friends in the school, community =>feel loved, respected, not lonely
Isolation, Loneliness=> pose a threat to people’s personality, loss confidence=>
Long term- grow up, tend to be a person who is likely to share with others, in a company or
society, =>gain more=>gain more friends in the workplace, where you can get supported from
them and have good collaboration in a team, which can make you really successful in your
career
4. Is there anything that parents would persuade children to share with others?
Many options
-snacks- consume a considerable amount of snacks =>cant finish all of them
=>talk them into sharing it with other kids => become friends because they share those kinds of
snacks
It is actually happier when you share sth with others instead of keeping it to yourself
Toys- for kids tend to play it for once =>not attracted to them attracted to other kids=>exchange
those toys with other kids => get an opportunity to play new toys but also help parents to save
money
Describe a friend from childhood whom you remember very well
You should say:
Who he/she is-Khanh Huyen, a close friend of mine in secondary school
Where you met each other
Got the opportunity to meet each other through an English contest when I was still studying at
primary school. She was one of the members of the other team. I was impressed by her English
skills and proactively fraternized with her without knowing that we would actually meet again
A year later, I got a chance to study at a secondary school for gifted students, where I
met her again
Taken aback when we first bumped into each other in class
What you often did together
We lived quite far away from each other so most of the time we would spend at school
During breaks at school, we literally held hands and went outside, wandering around the school
campus and just talking about what happened to us on a daily basis => keep updated with one
another’s lives but also fostered our friendship
During breaks, we sometimes practiced English with each other like playing some games in
English, sth like that
And explain what made you like him/her
A sense of humor=> on cloud nine when talking to her because she often cracked jokes
She was well-versed at English =>
He is a very loving, caring and affectionate person. gave me a helping hand whenever I’m in
need
all the memories that we created together and the fact that I still cherish them in my heart.
Part 3
1. Do you still keep in touch with your friends from childhood? Why or why not?
Not really-move on, drifted apart -have different lives (make new friends, have new
activities) sometimes it is the tight schedule and the new environment that just keep us
away from keeping in touch with childhood friends
-Fb seldomly text each other
2. What do you think of online social media?
Pros and cons
-Benefits
+bring the ease of communication, and information exchange in terms of geological locations
+students can get access to online study sessions through live streaming services on social
media website
-Drawbacks

Describe an important river/lake in your country
An ancient lake that is well known as a nationally famous destination =>Hoan kiem lake, which
means the “returned sword” lake
Where it is located- at the heart of Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital city
How big/long it is -measures around 120,000m , surrounded by wide shade trees =>making it
an ideal place for city dwellers who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city
The lake is commonly known as the Sword Lake since all Vietnamese children learn about the
story of a giant turtle and holy sword in their school. Legend has it that our Emperor Le
Loi’s defeat of the Ming army in the past owed much to his magic sword. One day, while he was
sailing on the lake, suddenly a golden turtle surfaced and asked for the sword as it belonged to
the Dragon King. The Emperor agreed to give it back to the turtle and renamed the lake
to commemorate this event.
What it looks like
-one of the largest lakes in Vietnam
Aside from the historic tale tied to it, the lake is also adored thanks to its divine beauty and
elegance

Authentic transportation routes for goods and services =>integrate with highways and railroads
to transport the merchandise effectively. the number of commodities transported by rivers the
world over is rather substantial. Take Vietnam as an example, given this country’s long
coastlines, goods are being transferred by rivers across the country. This has markedly
promoted economic development and regional integration.

Had it not been for her, I wouldn’t have been able to be a more well-rounded person in my first
year at university
Part 3

I’m afraid I don’t see it that way
-live very busy life =>up to their ears with work and focus on climbing their career ladder =>even
have little time for their family, let alone their neighbors =>have little interaction with their
neighbors, which leads to limited friendly relationships between neighbors

One year ago when I and my bf traveled to Tam dao => a mountainous district located at Vinh
Phuc province in December
=>helped me a lot at that time and saved my money and time
+forgot to pre-book accommodation there because I intended to do it after reaching the

food, accommodation and transportation
What do you usually do with a cell phone?
An integral part of my day-to-day routine =>do different stuff on it
-communication
-entertainment
-education
-shopping,..
What are the differences between young people and old people when using a cell phone?
-Youngsters are tech-savvy and love to explore and enjoy new or exciting mobile phone
features as they are young and have an enquiring mind =>entertainment purposes, chatting,
playing video games, shopping
><seniors are not very interested in various functions=>using cell phones only to make or
receive calls
Not the matter of age=> individual’s temperament and personality and whether or not they are
willing to learn new things. If an old person doesn’t like the mobile phone, they probably struggle
to use the remote as well.
Old ppl use mobile phones for bare minimum features (calls/messages, taking pictures and
some social media stuff like fb)
The young do literally anything on their phone from the basic stuff above, recording videos,
editing, playing video games, reminder, shopping
Which one is more important, using a cellphone to make phone calls or to read messages?
According to my viewpoint, both are equally important
-in a meeting or any other situation where it is impossible to make a phone call, then text
messaging plays a vital role =>not disturb others
-better option to make a call in order to convey a message to others in an emergency situation
Do you think there should be a law to stop people from making phone calls in public?
Undoubtedly yes =>there should be a law for using mobile phones in public places because cell
phones can call a big disturbance and distraction in public
=>give rise to a number of problems such as a road accident or noise pollution
=>responsibility of an individual to use mobile phone carefully or for limited purposes in public
areas
How has technology made our life easier?
Answer – Technology has made life convenient, comfortable, and luxurious in all ways.
Because with the help of these inventions now we can do our work within few minutes which

That’s also my take on this

from all over the world share the same interest like cooking, or a particular movie =>form lasting
relationships with each other
3. Why is it hard to maintain friendships for some people?
-people don’t have enough time
+adult friendships are difficult especially when they have their own life, job and responsibility

Had it not been for this habit, I wouldn’t have been able to focus and complete my tasks
successfully like that
Part3:
1. Is it important for children to learn how to concentrate?
Do wonders for them not only in short term but also in long term
-school demand that students concentrate for long stretches of times =>stay focused on the
lectures..=>acquire knowledge better
-grow up, have more work that needs to get done, which requires high concentration to
complete
Since the ability to concentrate and sustain attention on all kinds of tasks is crucially important
=>learn and improve=>seld confidence =>of paramount importance that they have this abilty at
an early age =>imbibe these later on
2. What can employers do to help employees concentrate?

There are a lot of reasons to celebrate in Vietnam. People would throw up a parties to mark
important milestones in their life such as birthdays, engagements and weddings or any
significant achievements they obtain. Businesses usually organize or sponsor events to build a
stronger team or to increase their brand awareness. Besides, there are public events held by
the government, including traditional festivals, sports events and public holiday celebrations.
3. Do people often celebrate events with a large group of people or just a few people?
Depends on age groups
For older people, family parties in my country are mostly organised to celebrate a
special occasion and to spend some quality time with the people we care about
For the young, they prefer holding parties with a large group of friends
Supporting idea:
When friends are together at a party, they shout, listen to loud music, do not care
about strict manners and often go wild.
4. Do people often celebrate festivals with families?
Absolutely
-our daily schedules keep us away from our close friends and families =>festivals bring us
together, give us good time to build strong bonds with our family members

on my tasks
Down the road, keep this habit. Had it not been for this change, I wouldn’t be as fit as fiddle rn
Part3
1. Is it easier for young people to change?
I would say it is easier for the young to change because at their age they are still learning about
the world around them and they have yet to become their own person with their own opinions
and routines
A young person’s mindset is not set in stone and it can only be that way through more life
experience
Such experience can be gained through getting older and going through challenges that test
their mind and spirit
2. Is it easy for old people to change?
Older people’s mindsets and routines become more fixed as they age since their life
experiences have affirmed them to that point
For example, if an old person’s routine to waking up at 7 am has worked out for him in the past
in terms of time management and productivity=> it is guaranteed that he would continue to wake
up at 7am and not change his routine at all. As such, old people less likely to change
3. How can people change their daily routine if they want to?
By trying out new things they can do
If they seem to like these new things, they should try to be incorporated into the routine
=>such changes can make up a large difference to a person’s well-being
if too much change at once completely throws you off, it’s okay to make small changes over
time.
4. What are the disadvantages when people keep making changes?
-Constantly making changes =>never feel truly satisfied with them
The reason a person keeps making changes in the first place is that he or she wasn’t happy
with the previous changes =>the unsatisfactory feeling will remain as changes continue to be
made
-These changes may not always produce the intended results you’re looking for
This goes back to what I said earlier about not feeling satisfied as these unintended results can
add to that feeling
Describe a change you made in your daily life that saved you a lot of time
You should say:
- What the change was
Getting up early, which helps me to save a lot of time

temptations during the night that kept me awake for hours such as tiktok, a new-released tv
series or simply wanted to meet a deadline because I had been procrastinating for a week
=>had no choice but to give up that toxic habit because I started to notice pimples and acnes on
my face and I was fully aware of how destructive this sleeping habit could be for me, both
physically and mentally
Staying uplate=> waking up later maybe around 8 9am => in a hurry when I left home for school
Made a decision to sleep earlier and wake up earlier
- How it happened
This journey was arduous from the jump, when I started to get rid of my unhealthy habit
Needed to change my biological clocks
Formed the habit of sleeping at 12am and waking up at 6am
=>slept and got up earlier 15 mins every day (tried my very best to stay away from social media
and had a crack at reading books or listening to music so that I could feel sleepy and fall into
sleep
In the morning as soon as I heard the alarm, I forced myself to got out of bed and drink a glass
of water as a way to make me conscious
And explain why it saved you a lot of time
Over the moon
+have more time to plan my day ahead, allocating a certain time for each task

=>find a quiet place and stay away from distraction, you can fully concentrate on your work and
save time
-digitalize your life
We live in a digital world =>take advantage of the benefits it offers and make the most of its
potential
+online shopping, track your progress with tracking apps
2. Does technology help people save time? How and Why?
Productivity apps and time-saving technology help many people complete individual tasks more
quickly.

washing machine or dishwasher
3. Do you think parents should be responsible for teaching children to save time?
Yes

every moment of it =>do everything they could to make the most of that time
Spend all day watching Netflix=>that time could have been better spent on exercising, learning
a new skill, networking

away as most of us were running out of cash and kinda tightening our belt
=>entered and started ordering food=>asked my frs to order as much as could because I would
be the person to foot the bill on my birthday=>since they had already given my gift so paying
the bill is a nice thing to do=>give and take
How much you spent
7 dishes, ranging from grilled beef and pork to seafood and some drinks
=>we ate to our heart’s content since the foods were out of this world, much more delicious
than other diners I had been to
=>After having finished the meal, I asked for the bill and I was taken aback by the sum , which
was just 500,000 VND, highly cheap for a 7 course meal
=>settled the bill without even asking the waitress why it was so cheap
And explain how you feel about the day
Meaningful =>had the chance to meet up with my friends after such a long time as they are
living and studying far away from me =>had a whale of a time without having to shell out too
much cash on the dinner

watching TV, movies, playing video games, surfing social media => sometimes see little reason
to go outside when you have a wide variety of recreational activities at home
Do people like to spend their leisure time out your country?
A matter of personal preference,
+opt for outdoor activities as their recreational pursuits
+prefer to stay inside to avoid dirt and dust =>weather would be a significant contributor to
people’s choices of pastimes =>rains too heavily or the sunlight is too glaring =>not go outsidr
How do people spend their leisure time in your country?
Leisure and recreational activities in my country varies greatly between different age
demograhics, social classes, genders and even localities
However some pastimes are more widely known than other
+as for indoor amusements, watching Tv, movies, surfing social networks or playing video
games are quite popular
+whereas when it comes to outdoor leisure pursuits, =>hanging out in a park, by the lake or
going to coffeshops, and playing sports..
‘How does technology affect the way people spend their leisure time?
Had an immerse impact on how we entertain
+Back in the days, people had a very limited number of options for indoor recreation, music,
dancing or reading are the only pastimes I could think of
+In this modern times, with the advancement of technology like video games, social network,
Tvs… people have endless choices of leisure activities they could do inside
Do you think only old people have time for leisure?
I’m afraid I don’t see it that way
People from all age demographics can and should have leisure time
=>scientifically proven that relaxing is crucial for productivity and efficiency
=>our bodies and minds need time to unwind and do the things we love as these moments of
enjoyment could alleviate stress and help us recover if we burned out
=>some have a hectic and tight schedule but if they realize the importance of leisure time to our
health, our work and study =>find ways to add that into our schedule

Describe an occasion when you lost something in a public place
You should say:
What you lost-phone
How you lost it
my friends invited me to go to AEON long bien-supermarket, to have lunch with them
i was kinda in a hurry when we left so i put two phones of my in the outer compartment of my
bag without zipping it up
my friend gave me a lift and i was just sitting behind and had some chit chat with him. Not until
a stranger tap on my shoulder and told me there were two men on a SH motorbike stole my
phones did i realize i lost it
Where you lost it
we were in the midst of the road, right in the crossroads =>so crowded that i had no idea who
took my phone so that I could chase after them
=>I came to realization that there was no way for me to chase them
Flew into a panic not only because of its value but mostly because it was the first phone that I
used my own money to purchase =>After I calmed down, I tried to check the surveillance
camera near by to see whether it can spot the license plate of the thief ,but to no avail. I didn’t
remember the password of my Icloud so it’s impossible for me to check the GPS of the phone.
This was the moment i knew i lost it
And explain how you felt about it.
At first I was depressed and blamed myself for being carelessly like that. But then I learn the
hard way that I need to be more careful and cautious next time regardless of what i do
Part3:
1. What kinds of things do people usually lose?
People lose all kinds of thing but I would say the stuff that people nowadays lose most easily
seems to be the things they usually carry around including keys, glasses and mobile phones. I
guess It is probably because these are things that we often put down without much thought. I
mean is that our minds are often on sth else when we put these things down, and then we tend
to forget about where we put it and chances are that we would lose it
2. What do people often do when losing things?
The first thing people must do is recall where they last put the items. If they have lost their keys,
it is better to look at places with a higher probability of leaving them =>works like a charm for
me, sure it would work with others
Another strategy is to attach some contact details to our belongings. It’d come in handy when
we lose sth and the person who finds it calls us by seeing the contact information
post it on social media, reach a wide range of people => there is a likelihood that you would find
your lost items again
if the item is off great monetary value, people often ask their families or the support of the
authorities to sort out the matter. For example, when you lose a motorbike parked outside a
shop, b’s quite hopeless if you try to look for it on your own.
What would you do if you found something that someone had lost?
Well, I guess the first thing I would do would be to try’ and find out whom the thing belonged to.
And if that wasn’t possible, then I would probably take whatever it was to the staff who worked
at the place where I found it. So for example, if I was in a hotel, then I would take the item to the
reception and inform the staff there.
3. Is it an effective way to use rewards to find lost things?
It depends on the price and the lost item
If the incentive is more than the value of the lost items, it will aldrive whoever finds it to return it
to the owner. This is evident with missing pets and documents which are only useful to the
owners
If the reward does not match the value of the object found, it would be more likely that the
person who found it keeps it
4. What kinds of people may lose things often?
People who have a bad memory and are unorganized tend to lose things often
-absent-minded and have no recollection of the last place they put their items
-dont have a specific place to put it, just put the item here and there=> likely to forget afterwards
Have too much on their plate to worry about (work assignments, child upbringing,.. makes
people forget stuff easily. At the end of the day, the hectic lifestyle is most to blame

sometimes cheaper when compared to local ones. Imported goods are often cheaper than
locally produced goods because of government restrictions and labor costs
-The consumption of imported goods is taken as a status symbol for affluent consumers=> they
