C-E-I Writing Strategy

Directions: Complete a CEI table below for each topic.

C- Claim: In the first sentence of the paragraph, make a claim about the topic. It is the focus of the paragraph.

E – Evidence: In at least 3 sentences, provide evidence that supports your claim. This evidence should come from facts and data.

I – Interpretation: The concluding sentence that explains what the evidence proves.
