Operations Management Plan

This project will provide an overview of the Operational Management System as to utilize the
principles and concepts that are applicable to the field of operations management.

I. Technical Production Description

- Think of product design or a product concept


- Present an overview of this product. If possible, you can present with a product blueprint
(you can choose to draw the blueprint. It’s not necessary to use CAD).
- Explain the strategic importance of your product and service design.
- Describe what product and service design does. Present its technical description.
- List some of the main sources of design ideas (based on the lecture)
- Describe the corresponding services involved in the whole product design process

II. Production/ Operation Process

a. Present the materials/ inputs needed for the production. These materials include:
1. Direct Materials
2. Tools Needed for the production
3. Supplies (Indirect Materials)
4. Packaging (Indirect Materials)
5. Customization

b. Present a diagram that portrays the step-by-step procedure of the production


c. Based on the diagram you’ve created, present a comprehensive description of the
activities that are involved in the process.

III. Production Schedule


- Create a simple production schedule in a span of 1 month.

IV. Labor Requirement


- Present the number of workforce that you need for the production process.
- Explain each role that comprises the workforce

V. Machinery/ Equipment Requirement


- Discuss the different equipment / machinery that you’ll be using for the production
process.
- Give each equipment its technical description and function.

VI. Raw Materials


- Present the various raw materials
- Segregate the Direct and Direct materials.
- Discuss the specification of each materials.

VII. Plant / Factory Location


- Provide the best location for your means of production that will serve as a strategic
advantage to your offering.

VIII. Plant Layout


- Provide a simple plant layout/ floor plan.

IX. Quality Control System


- Discuss how you are going to properly inspect each items produced to match the
standard that you offer.

X. Production Cost
- Create a simple product costing in table form.
- Find the production cost per unit.
