Cable Tray Sizing Calculation Guide

This document summarizes the cable tray size and loading calculation for a 33kV 3-core 400 square mm cable system running 55 meters from auxiliary main transformers to a 33kV GIS. There are two cable routes of the same size and configuration requiring a total of 2 cable trays each 450mm wide and 120mm deep with a 120kg/meter weight capacity and ladder type. The calculation shows the required cable tray size and number are sufficient to carry the 2 cables within the tray weight limit and area capacity.
