TITLE:
“Mangroves Planting in Barangay Tagas as an Environmental Preservations."

PROPONENTS: Grade 12 students

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: This project aims to:


• Create unity between the schools and community
• Show the importance of mangroves and its role in the ecosystem
• To promote Climate change awareness
• And also to prevent flooding in Barangay Tagas .

SIGNIFICANCE: By this project, the Villafuerte-Peña High School will having Tree Planting activity located
at Barangay Tagas. The following are some advantages and importance of this project. First is, the roots of
trees hold the soil in place as it fights erosion that causes landslides. Second is, It also absorbs and
stores rainwater that helps reduce runoff and sediment deposits after the storm. Third is, to increase the
resilience of ecosystems also called ecological robustness the ability of an ecosystem to maintain its
normal patterns of nutrients cycling and biomass production after being subjected to damage caused by
an ecological disturbance which reflect to minimize climate change. Fourth is, It also helps recharge
ground water supply, prevents flooding in Barangay Tagas. And last is, which has been found out that tree
planting is a call for action against harmful environmental practices and is helpful in spreading awareness
about protecting the Earth's natural environment.

DESCRIPTION: In this project, the students in Villafuerte-Peña high school together with the community
volunteers will conduct a tree planting (mangroves planting) in Barangay Tagas. This activity will be done in
January 14, 2023 at 7:00 am to 11:00 am located at the river side of Barangay Tagas. Volunteers from the
barangay are free to join in this activity. For Instance this tree planting activity will help the environment to
lessen the pollution, beautify the areal, and stop floods in the area. Many will also benefited on the advantages
of this activity not just us but the future generations also.
