Dear Dr. Richard:

Greetings!

I am Dwayne June Getigan, a Grade 10 student from Philippines Science High School
Central Visayas Campus. I would like to apply for the Biology course and hopefully be a part
of the lucky few to be under the tutelage of the Fulbright Scholarship. Through my mother’s
recommendation, I was fascinated at the thought of being able to study in a prestigious
institution and deepen my knowledge of Biology.

The lessons and research offered by the scholarship are what I need to be able to gain my
dream job. Although my grades throughout my high school years fluctuate and I haven’t been
in the Director’s List, I still want to enhance my knowledge in this field of learning.

I may not be a part of the list because I tend to neglect some subjects that think wouldn’t help
me in reaching my goal. But for the subjects the I think are necessary to reach my goal, I try
my best to learn all that I can. I want to help my people with the research and experiments
that I may be able to conduct under your scholarship.
