Volleyball Skills: Blocking and Spiking Steps

Blocking involves maintaining a low center of gravity with bent knees and a wide base of support, then extending the knees slightly while keeping the same base to meet the ball. Spiking starts with a short step followed by a long running step with the foot opposite the striking arm, then bending the knees to 90 degrees before swinging the arms back and forth to jump, aligning the striking arm with the ball in the air to firmly strike it downwards into the opponent's court by snapping the wrist and following through with the arm.
