Methodology

Tools and Materials


The tools that will be used in the experiment are: Candle wax, cooking pot, Gloves,
Graduated scale, Colander, Knife, Erlenmeyer flask, funnel, aluminum foil, beaker,
Cooking-pot, Metal bowl, and three candle cups/jars.
The materials that will be used in the experiment: Oregano Leaves 300g
(Origanum vulgare), Lemon Grass Leaves 300g (Cymbopogon), Distilled water
50ml, Grated Coconut, Cooking Oil 500mL, Grated Coconut.

Gathering of Tools and Materials


The tools and materials that will be used in this experiment will be borrowed from
Barangay Hemingway St, Capiz. First treatment the researcher has a Oregano
(Origanum vulgare) leaves plant growing beside the researchers home and this will
the source of the Oregano (Origanum vulgare) leaves to be used; As for the Second
treatment the Lemon grass leaves (Cymbopogon citratus) will also be found near
the researchers home. The Erlenmeyer flask and beaker will be borrowed in the
Laboratory Room at the new building of Arnaldo B. Bellosillo in Colegio de la
Purisima Concepcion. As for the candle wax it will be bought from store/online.

D. Preparation of the Oregano leaves and Lemon grass stem oil extract
First take some thoroughly washed Oregano leaves then Cut them using knife then
cook them with cooking oil until both the extract and the oil mixed then pour the
oregano oil to the cheesecloth to avoid big lumps/leaves of oregano result, Same
process on the lemon grass cut leaves
E. Preparations of Treatments
First wash the Oregano leaves then Cut them using knife then cook them with
cooking oil until both the extract and the oil mixed then pour the oregano oil to the
cheesecloth to avoid big lumps/leaves of oregano result, Same process on the
lemon grass cut leaves on the smashing then melt the wax that was bought from
store all you’ll need is wax, a candle mold, a wick. Then Melt the Wax. Using your
double boiler, melt the wax. Adhere Wick to Container. While the wax is melting,
adhere the wick to the container. Add Oregano Oil and Stir. Cool, Filter and Pour
Into Container same process on the lemon grass. Secure Wick, Let Cool, Then to
Top Off Trim Wick
Treatment A: Oregano oil scented candles, with 20ml of oregano oil extract
mix with 80ml of candles wax.
Treatment B: Lemon Grass oil scented candles, with 20ml of lemon grass oil
mix with 80ml of candle wax.
Treatment C: Oregano oil and Lemon grass oil scented candles, with 20ml of
oregano oil and 20 of Lemon grass oil mixed with 60ml of candle wax
