 INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES FOR APPLYING ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE

1. The Particulars required in the application must be furnished neatly and legibly by the candidates. Any column left blank
will cause delay in issuing of Eligibility Certificate.
2. ELIGIBILITY Application can be downloaded from the University website [Link].
3. ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE IS NOT NECESSARY FOR THE CANDIDATES WHO HAVE PASSED THE
FOLLOWING EXAMINATIONS
a) Higher Secondary Examination of the Govt. of Tamilnadu ( Regular / Private Study)
b) All India Senior School Certificate / Delhi Senior School Certificate Examination of the Central Board of Secondary
Education, New Delhi.
c) Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
4. ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE SHOULD BE OBTAINED BY ALL OTHER CANDIDATES WHO HAVE PASSED
THE FOLLOWING EXAMINATIONS
a) Higher Secondary or equivalent examination conducted by all other state boards in India / Abroad.
b) All Degree (UG / PG) examinations conducted by other universities in India / Abroad.
5. ADMISSION TO UNDER GRADUATE COURSES: Candidates who passed examination under 10+2 pattern which
is recognized as equivalent to Higher Secondary Examination of Government of Tamilnadu.
6. ADMISSION TO POST GRADUATE COURSES: Candidates who have passed Three year B.A /[Link]. /[Link].
Degree examination of other Universities under open university system or under 10 +2 +3 pattern which have already
been recognized by this university or alone eligible for admission to Post Graduate Degree Course for which a Degree is
prescribed as the admission requirement.
7. ADMISSION TO [Link]. / Ph.D. DEGREE COURSES: Candidates who have passed the Two years Post Graduate
Degree recognized by this University under 10+2+3+2 or 11+1+3+2 pattern which have already been recognized by this
University or alone eligible for admission to [Link]. / Ph.D. Degree Course for which a PG Degree is prescribed as the
admission requirements.
8. The Fee prescribed for the Eligibility Certificate is :
Qualifying Examination passed within India
a) For applying UG / PG Degree Course Rs. 220/- (Certificate Cost is Rs. 200/- + Application Cost is Rs. 20/-).
b) For applying [Link]. / Ph.D Degree Course Rs. 420/- (Certificate Cost is Rs. 400/- + Application Cost is Rs. 20/-)s

Qualifying Examination passed outside India

a) For applying for UG Degree Course Rs. 5,020/- (Certificate Cost is Rs. 5,000/- + Application Cost is Rs. 20/-).
b) For applying for PG Degree Course Rs. 7,520/- (Certificate Cost is Rs. 7,500/- + Application Cost is Rs. 20/-).
c) For applying for UG Professional Degree Course Rs. 8,020/- (Certificate Cost is Rs. 8,000/- + Application Cost is
Rs. 20/-).
d) For applying for PG Professional Degree Course Rs. 10,020/- (Certificate Cost is Rs. 10,000/- + Application Cost is
Rs. 20/-.

9. The fee mentioned above should be remitted through CBS/NEFT/RTGS mode in the Indian Overseas Bank, in the favour
of The Registrar, Thiruvalluvar University, IFSC Code: IOBA0002484, MICR Code: 632020014, Account Number:
248401000000001 and the original bank challan with UTR number should be enclosed with the application form.
10. Postal Order / Money Order / Demand Draft will not be accepted.
11. Attach a self addressed 24 x 12 cm enveloped cover with Rs. 40/- stamped should be enclosed for sending the Eligibility
Certificate by REGISTERED POST.
12. Eligibility Certificate, if the application is in order, will be sent by post at about a week’s time from the date of receipt of
application.
13. THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS ORIGINAL AND ONE SET OF XEROX COPY WITH SELF ATTESTED
SHOULD BE ENCLOSED AND SUBMIT IN PERSON. THE ORIGINAL WILL BE GIVEN AFTER
VERIFICATION.
a) For Applying Under-Graduate / Professional Degree Course
i. SSLC (10th Std) or its equivalent
ii. Higher Secondary or its equivalent (12th Std) Diploma / Pass Certificate and Statement of marks.
b) For Applying Post-Graduate / Professional Degree Course
i. SSLC (10th Std) or its equivalent
ii. Higher Secondary or its equivalent (12th Std) Diploma / Pass Certificate and Statement of marks.
iii. Three year Degree / Diploma course Provisional / Convocation Certificate and Statement of marks.
c) For Applying [Link] Degree Course / Ph.D. Degree Course
i. SSLC (10th Std) or its equivalent
ii. Higher Secondary or its equivalent (12th Std) Diploma / Pass Certificate and Statement of marks.
iii. Three year Degree / Diploma Course Provisional / Convocation Certificate and Statement of marks.
iv. Two years PG Degree / Diploma Course Provisional / Convocation Certificate and Statement of marks.
d) Course Complete / Transfer Certificate should also be submitted along with the above approve the duration
of the course.
e) If the Original Certificates are in a language other than ENGLISH such Certificates should be submitted along with
an authenticated translation in English language duly attested by the concerned educational authorities.
f) For SC / ST candidates concession of 5% marks in the minimum of marks required for admission to any course of
study a prescribed in the regulations will be given provided they produce the community certificate in Xerox copy
with self attested issued by the competent authority with the application.
g) Documentary evidence should be produced to prove the date of birth for which age requirement is prescribed.

PHOTOCOPY / XEROX COPIES OF ATTESTED COPIES CANNOT BE ACCEPTED IN LIEU OF THE

ORIGINALS.

FEES ONCE PAID WILL NOT BE REFUNDED ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
