SMART Goals: Guidelines & Examples

The document provides guidelines and examples for creating SMART goals. According to the guidelines, a SMART goal should be specific, measurable, attainable, relatable, and time-bound. An example goal of improving communication skills is then made SMART by specifying the type of communication to improve, setting a measurable target, breaking the goal into achievable tasks, relating it to an overall goal, and adding a deadline. The finalized SMART version of the goal is much more clear, actionable, and likely to be achieved than the original vague goal.
