Scientific activity [AL Urinary incontinence (UI) (Ongoing PhD projcet) For my PhD-thesis, | will be using urinary incontinence as a case for clinical epidemiology issues, diagnostic reasaning, classic epidemiology and validation of Internet as a research tool. Project title: Validations of research methods for urinary incontinence in Women. Scored questionnaires in clinical practice and epidemiological research. Validation of a questionnaire for detecting urinary incontinence Study 1 isa clinical epidemiology study of the use of a structured questionnaire for detecting UI ‘compared to a gynaecological assessment including urodynamics as a gold standard. | started this research in 1993 on a project with professor dr. med. Steinar Hunskar at Dv. fer General Practice, ‘entering, coding and analysing diagnostic data from 250 women with urinary incontinence (Ul), referred from GPs for consultation with a urotherapist, urodynamic assessment, and a gynaecological work-up. This work has so far resulted in two published papers, 1 national and international publication.
