What should the wishes of a homeless man be? What should he hope to do? What can he accomplish? Is he too far down in society to do anything? Is he too powerless to cause change? Everyone in life gets numerous chances to turn everything around. In every second of their lives, we make decisionssome lifechanging. Regardless of all else, theyre responsible for their choices and what they give up in the process. So for this homeless man to choose to accept this task only he can do, hell face much more life-changing decisions, with the hopes to set the illusion of the past, the cruelty of the present, and the lonely future right. Its the always-bustling town of Tokyo on May 31st of 2010. Its the 5-year death anniversary of Takamasa Yaharis parents, but mourning now is one of the lesser problems. Nearly broke, he was just about satisfied with just $30 to spend, but once realizing how pathetic it is to be so happy with just this much, he yearned to do more in life. In the middle of this existential crisis, the 22-year-old bum is confronted out of the blue by a woman from the future. She claims to know everything about him, partially because hes apparently famous. The man was obviously skeptical, but after being dragged 60 years into the past by the woman, he has no choice but to accept it and he agrees to do as she says. His mission sounds simple enough, but winning the hearts of three uniquely difficult women wont be a breeze. Ones a lady unhappy with the approaching arranged marriage, and puts up a smiling front. Anothers a rich and successful, but inconsiderate and arrogant company president. The lasts an abnormally intellectual, highly insecure, and deathly antisocial hikikomori. What is this middleaged future woman plotting with all this? And if just surviving in the present is hard enough, what makes him believe he can make all the correct choices to get their hands in marriage and change their lives for the better?

<Takamasa Yahari> [Male; February 29, 1988 (22); Present] Back when Takasama was 17, he was an out-going and sarcastic comedian. He liked assisting others and believed he could make everyone he knows happy. Everyone admired him for his prudence. After his parents were found dead that same year 5 years prior to the beginning of the story and he believed they had been killed, he dropped out of high school and quit college. He managed to live off some money for almost 3 years; however, once he was legally allowed to drink, he spent all his fortunes on them and became more and more interested in clubs and parties. He became broke in less than a year. Now living on the streets with no friends, family, or self-confidence, he grew even more sarcastic, but often for rude reasons. He thinks he has lost all respect for himself and others, but once he was given a chance by an older woman to live life with more meaning and purpose, he doesnt pass up the opportunity to help 3

different women in different time periods overcome the obstacles in their lives. However, he had just been a bum not too long ago, so hes a little rude and maybe more self-centered, not to mention nearly broke. His disconnection from regular society made him slightly antisocial and often left him in awkward situations. Despite this, he tries his best be prudent again and make all the correct choices to change their lives for the better. The women he has to marry are all related to him. He incidentally took place of his already-existing grandfather in the family tree, and he became his own grandson as well. Marisa Ese is his grandmother, Poniko Aaa is his present wife, and Mafurako Reiji is his granddaughter. He wasnt told all this until Ikutodam revealed herself to be his granddaughter, and that she is an older version of Mafurako. The shock set Takamasa into rage and sorrow. He hated himself for committing incest and polygamy, but he didnt want to die yet. He plans on paying for his sins by killing the still-living future version of himself in Mafurako current time period. Suddenly being confronted by people who resembled himself and a woman, Takamasa didnt try to figure out who they were, and killed them. He later found the real future version of himself, and that he had just killed his parents from 2005. Now enraged and uncontrollable, he finally kills the older him. He realized that had he not found his parents dead in 2005, he wouldnt have been living in the streets, and so he wouldnt have been able to marry the three women. He decides to accept that on this day, he will die, and thats a fact he cant change. He then moves the bodies of his parents to where and when they were found. In the original timeline, they didnt die until Takamasa was already middle-aged and living a boring life where he didnt do anything at all for anyone. In anger and desperation, after the time machine was invented, although not by his granddaughter, he decided to go off and kill his parents in 2005, when everything seemed perfect. He brought is granddaughter with him and did the deed. He killed himself after telling her to wait until the Takamasa in this time period reaches his lowest point and to get him married to the three women in the game. She waits 5 years until Takamasa becomes a homeless man and does as told by bringing him 60 years into the past. Since Marisa was going to get married to his grandfather that year, and he knew that she died because of Sekomus indecisiveness, he decided to save her from that fate by taking her from him. Although that was a success, and Marisa lived longer/better with the child, Takamasa and his father were raised differently. This resulted in the three women not being as happy as they were before when they marry Takamasa. However, when Sekomu is told about Takamasa stealing Marisa from him in an alternate timeline, he decides to be the one to kill Marisa. This ends up with Takamasa and his father to be raised the same as when she was killed in the original time stream. So when Takamasa is sent through time, he makes the three women happy and Marisa still ends up dead, leaving her child and grandchild still they way they are. <Armajiki Urami> [Male; ; Present/Future] The best friend of Takamasa in his time periods present. Hes a guy who doesnt want to spend more energy on doing things that are unlikely to help him any more than needed. Hes accepted his life as a broke and homeless man living on the streets, but since it is tough to survive this

way, he befriends Takamasa, whos in the same situation. They often just share what theyve gathered and sometimes barely make it by. Theyve been on the streets together and helping each other ever since Armajiki became homeless that he nearly considers Takamasa a brother. He frequently enforces his views on Takamasa so he could give up hope of living normally to focus on surviving as they already are, although hes often ignored. For the most part, Armajikis comical and supportive of when Takamasa tries to do things to get by as it is, but he acts cold whenever Takamasa brings up or just suggests life as a normal middle-class guy. This has been especially true around the beginning of the story, and Armajiki has been acting even ruder in response. <Ikutodam> [Female; ???; Future] A woman who looks like shes in her 30s and married. She comes off a little eccentric and socially awkward, but thats because its rare to find her in any mood that isnt ecstatic or determined. The fact that she says shes from the future and that it is Takamasa Yaharis duty to marry these three women in different time periods also contributes to the strange stares she gets. She appears one month in Takamasas time period while he was still just a poor man living in garbage. After revealing that shes from the year 2068 and that she was here to give Takamasa is mission, he starts to ignore her, but she was persistent and forced him 60 years back. She says that his husband nicknamed her Ikutodam for some special reason, but she doesnt plan on saying anything else about herself to Takamasa. Her birth name, real age, and family are hidden from him. Shes the Mafurako Reiji 18 years older than the one Takamasa met in 2050. She was proof before his eyes that she had changed dramatically, and for the better. She didnt know that Takamasa would be furious by knowing the real identities of her and the three women, and so by telling him, he went off to kill the older him living in the future. Mafurako decided not to keep herself from telling him or keeping his parents deaths from happening. She even helps Takamasa when he needs to move the bodies to when and where they were found in 2005. She knows that their deaths played a major role in his mission, so she never changed the events. <Sekomu Yahari> [Male; February 1, 1930; Past] Takamasas grandfather who supposedly disappeared the day his wife died. Takamasa and Ikutodam meet with him on May 31st, 1950. He provides a home for the two and helps them get Takamasa married with Marisa Eve. There werent any actual pictures of how he looked like, but when the two time travelers confront him, hes just a seemingly more successful and younger version of Takamasa. The twos appearances are nearly identical, but the main difference is that Sekomu is well-groomed and handsome, while Takamasa still looks like a bum. In the year Takamasa and Ikutodam go to in the past, 1950, Sekomu was just a 20year-old college student living alone in a small but comfortable house. Hes an average student who seems even more intelligent than Takamasa himself. His main, largest, and most important flaws are that he has selective mutism and

majorly indecisive. Hes poor at making choices, and some speculate that this is the reason his wife was killed and his child was taken from him. Hes relatively kind and moral, which would make any girl he liked fall for him, but since he was mute to anyone but family and teachers, the girls often leave. Although he was obviously suspicious of Takamasas and Ikutodams reason for being here, he went along with it despite the lack of proof. He helped out tremendously in getting Marisa and Takamasa married. After the marriage, Sekomu wants to join him and Ikutodam in their mission to marry the three girls from different time periods. He didnt disappear when his wife died, but rather when he met Takamasa and started time traveling with him. He didnt find out until at the same time as Takamasa that Marisa was married to Sekomu in the original time stream, and that Takamasa took Marisa from him in the time stream afterwards because the reason for her death was originally because of Sekomus indecisiveness. It wasnt until the next time stream that Sekomu was furious and killed Marisa for choosing Takamasa over him. Although he was angry at Takamasa as well, he couldnt get back to the same time period as him. He gave up and decided to just raise the child left behind. <Marisa Ese> [Female; March 11, 1931 (19); Past] Marisa is a beautiful young lady who seems excited for her arranged marriage, almost to the point of mentioning her fianc in every other conversation. She brags about him so much because she thinks its an honor to have such a successful man marrying her. Shes appears to generally be a happy-go-lucky, clumsy, and out-going person, which catches the hearts of many men. However, when in stressful situations alone, she becomes hopeless and depressed. She depends on people most of the time and doesnt make too many decisions by herself, so she often goes along with whatever is going on, despite it negatively affecting her as well. Marisa is seemingly the average successful Shinto priests eldest daughter and shrine maiden. Meaning she has a kind nature, usually very responsible, and moral mindset. Shes slightly extroverted and can come across as over-confident in herself, even though shes so clumsy. However, it is said that if anyone were to see her when shes put on the spot without anyone to help, that image is torn and they can only see her as an irresponsible child. When Takamasa meets Marisa on May 31st, 1950, she is still a 19-year-old student at Sekomus college. She seems to act more kind and cute towards Sekomu, but as hes mute to her, he cant say anything in response. She talks about her fianc a lot more to him as well, often even exaggerating things more than when talking to others. Shes had a secret crush on Sekomu for being so mysterious, which is the reason behind her acting kinder to him and trying to make him jealous by bringing up her fianc. In truth, she dislikes her fianc very much due to his unreliability and inconsiderate personality. He tried his best to look like a good, honest man in public, but when hes alone/with Marisa, he acts entirely different. Marisa would go and tell others about this, but since its hard to prove it, she fears that nobody will believe her and will then leave her. She cant refuse it as it stands anyhow, so she

must accept it and just go along with the happy couple act. Shes very dependent on others and much too often rely on them for decisions. In order to help, Takamasa refuses to help whenever its something she is capable of handling herself. However, he doesnt act too cold to her and gives advice. He helps with proving that hes unsuitable for marriage with Marisa, although most of it was done by her. Since he helped her with overcoming her major dependence on others and got rid of a man she didnt want to but had to live the rest of her life with, she developed feelings for Takamasa. They finally got married and had a child, but she was killed by a man who turned out to be Sekomu. Takamasa left her and the child that day to return to the present for the next woman. In the original time stream, she was married to Sekomu and was killed by her previous fianc that she left for Sekomu. Due to Sekomus indecisiveness on that day, she walked right into the mans trap and was murdered. Devastated, Sekomu left the town to a small village. The child and Takamasa grew up, and when a middle-aged Takamasa planned the whole drama and made the homeless Takamasa marry Marisa before she did with Sekomu. Marisa ended up living longer in that time stream and raising her child differently. This leads to Takamasa being raised differently as well, and so when he is sent through time, he doesnt make the women as happy and change their lives as much. When Takamasa continues the plan and Sekomu is told he was the original husband in the original time stream, but Marisa went with another man, Sekomu decides to kill Marisa and leave the child raised the same as the original time stream. So with Takamasa grown up the same way, he affects the three women positively more than previously. <Tsunenikatsu Urami> [Male; ; Past/Present] Usually just known as Tsun (or Tsun Tsun by his fiance Marisa), he is seen in public as the perfect man. His reputation is spotless, and Marisas complimenting of him boosts his social standing even more. Hes to marry Marisa Ese and become even higher in society, due to how high Marisas family is already. Since both families agree that they would complement each other well, the arranged a marriage between Marisa and Tsun. <Poniko Aaa> [Female; April 21, 1990 (20); Present] Poniko Aaa is the president of one of the most successful and richest companies in Tokyo. Shes usually arrogant, but keeps her cool and calm state. Shes very often seen as rude, as if shes better than everyone else. Her beauty is quite clouded by her professional look and demeaning attitude. All her choices benefit her most, and so others get hurt as a result. She claims to not be interested in men because theyll hurt her more than help in the end. When Takamasa is put to the task of getting Poniko to marry him, its obviously a match hard to even dream of. Due to probably the largest gap in society between them in Tokyo, she naturally responds by ignoring all his kind acts. The hopeless effort is almost goes to waste, but Poniko realizes how much more this will benefit her than before. She acknowledges Takamasa as an asset, and they end up dating. However, she has no intention of liking him. How over-the-top shes doing things is like she just wants to be seen as arrogant. Shes afraid of being thought of a failure. Because she thinks theres still someone out there who will look down on her, she becomes depressed and considers suicide.

She acts tough so that nobody would even think of being better than her. Takamasa tries to help by doing generous acts to her, but even though she notices him and even dates him, it isnt helping her condition. On a fateful encounter when she had finally decided to end it by jumping off a building, Takamasa by chance catches her. Now that he knows Ponikos true intentions, he offers help. And with her act gone when theyre alone, theyre able to have conversations about the real Poniko. Since Takamasa is already at the bottom of society, he already knows how it feels to be looked down on. However, despite how low he is, he believes he can influence people better than him, and so society is changed for the better. Thats what he thinks makes him better than others who dont do anything to improve. If Poniko can do the same and keep aiming to do more and more, shell help society so much she wont care what others think, since she knows more people appreciate her. After finally doing something tremendously good for the community, she realizes she loves Takamasa for saving her life. They eventually get married and have a child, making big differences left and right. In the original time stream, Takamasas parents werent killed, so he lived a normal life without meeting up with Poniko. Without Takamasas help, Ponikos depression got worse quickly, and her company started to fail. She committed suicide, and with nobody wanting to take over a falling company or any relatives to inherit it, it was like she never existed. She didnt do any major work for society, so the community in the future failed as well. The world became ever so darker without enough people making a difference and then inspiring others to do the same. <Mafurako Reiji> [Female; May 31, 2029 (21); Future] Mafurako is typically seen hidden in clothing, as if embarrassed for her skin or actual figure to be visible. Her intelligence is higher than most above average IQs, but that couldnt be gathered by talking to her, since shes anthrophobic and a hikikomori. She lives in her house making a living from home. Since she has nothing much to do outside of the house, shes mostly devoted to her job as an inventor and author. It would be unbelievable for her to have friends in real life, and maybe online as well. Even in the house, she wears extremely heavy clothing, but thats mostly because she keeps it freezing to prevent all her electronics from overheating. There isnt any decoration at all, and everything thats in there is related to her work or surviving. Despite not going out much, she keeps a pretty and cute appearance, but nobody really knows that since she wears so much clothes. Its initially impossible for Takamasa to approach her, but after finding a way to contact her, even though not in person, he must rely on her getting more comfortable with him. Her personality isnt shown at all during the conversations, so having a lasting talk isnt common. Mafurako is afraid of doing anything less than the best. She fears that if she expresses feelings and gets distracted, shes worthless. Despite being so successful, she was in an existential crisis almost like Takamasa when she was younger. Shed feel guilty to be wasting a life if she doesnt do her very best. If she doesnt do everything she can to help the world, then shed just be another person leeching off the work of others, and her life would be meaningless. She wanted a reason to live so that her time in this world meant something important. Unless she

did something unique or to her very fullest, and anyone else could do the same, shes worthless. This way of thinking ended up with her fearing others because if she got too involved with them, shed get distracted along the way. In spite of all this, Takamasa talks with her frequently and insists on meeting in person. Mafurako tries to keep everything to herself, but even she has opinions. Takamasa tries to stir conversations to see what she really likes or really hates to show her emotions, and so when Mafurako catches on, she avoids him even more. Even so, after experiencing how it is like to express emotions like that, she longs to talk to him again. After finally becoming close to her, Takamasa tries to do things so that Mafurako will enjoy life herself. He believes that if someone were to contribute more to the world than leech off of it, theyre still allowed to enjoy it. As Mafurako finally started accepting this way of thought, she was struck with despair after finding out all her recent inventions have failed and books she sent were rejected, she secluded herself even more than ever before. In a final and desperate stretch, Takamasa confronts her in a heavily-secured and well-hidden self-reflection room. He explains how her way of thinking isnt all wrong, because unless youre important to at least one person, theres no reason to live. However, shes already helped many people with her best-selling books and useful inventions, even if shes never met them. He also explains that above all, the one person who directly needs her is himself. With this, Mafurako is filled with happiness. After marriage and having children, the older Mafurako (Ikutodam) comes and explains the real identities of her and the three women. She is proof before Takamasas eyes that what he has done has helped her more than she could ever thank for. The more eccentric of the two Mafurakos then helped Takamasa kill his parents, who were brought to the future by the older Takamasa, and the older Takamasa who was still living at that time period. Although, she was unknowing at the time, but when she found out, she helped anyway and brought the bodies back to when and where they were found in 2005. She then tries to send Sekomu to replace Takamasa when he left in 1950, but he instead killed Marisa and left the child. This was all still according to the plan the original Takamasa created. The now-married Mafurako was also a mother, and ends up inventing the time machine a few years later. In the original time stream, Mafurako was instead named Ikutodam, since her grandmother (Takamasas wife) was different and his grandfather (Takamasa) was raised differently. She was still a hikikomori and antisocial, but she didnt have a high intelligence, so she couldnt invent or write anything. In an existential crisis, since she really didnt contribute to the world, and so she feels worthless. Ikutodam jumped at the opportunity the older Takamasa, who was living a boring life and contributed nothing as well, gave. Her role in his large plan was to go with him in the time machine to the highest point in his life and let him kill his own parents. The older version of him will leave and she must wait until the younger one is at his lowest to set him off in his mission to majorly affect the lives of 3 important women. She sends Takamasa 60 years into the past to get Marisa from Sekomu before they get married so that she wouldnt die from Sekomus indecisiveness. After marriage, Marisa lives longer and raises her child better. However, this changes how Takamasa is raised as well, and so when the events are repeated, he doesnt make the three women as happy and make as much change as before. When Sekomu finds out that he was married to Marisa in the original time stream, he becomes mad and goes back in time to kill her and leave the child behind. Since the child ends up being raised similar as in the original time stream, so is Takamasa. The

events play out to the same, and Mafurako always does her job to assist Takamasa in his mission.
