Instructions on how to create your iBook using iBook Author
1. Choose a Theme: Family recipes, desserts, low-fat
recipes, holidays, etc.
2. Please note that all recipes must contain the required
standard information: ingredients listed in specific
amounts, recipe directions, cooking times,
temperatures, etc. Recipes failing to follow this format
will lose credit.
3. Recipe Sources: Family, cookbooks, magazines,
newspapers, and the internet
4. Internet Sources: When you go to the computer, there
are lists of internet recipe sources, clip art, and other
links related to culinary arts and baking. Click on them
and they will take you directly to the websites. For use
at home, the recipe links are as follows:
[Link], [Link], [Link], ww

If you use Google as a search engine, you will find more recipe
sources.

5. The Recipes: When you are copying recipes from the
internet, take time to highlight the recipes and copy
them to a blank Word document page (copy and
paste).
Your cookbook will have a neater appearance if you use the
same fonts and font sizes throughout your project. Document
your recipes. List the source (For example [Link]) of
each recipe when copying from the internet.

6. The Cover: The front cover must include the
following information:
The title of your book, your name, period, and date.
It should be tastefully decorated. You may use clipart, magazine
pictures, or personal drawings or pictures. Use a sturdy material
for the front and back cover.
1.
7. Dedication Page: You may create a dedication page if
you wish to credit someone for helping you or
donating recipes to your book.
1.
8. Table of Contents: When you have assembled your
recipes, sort them into categories, for example,
Bread, Cookies, Candies, Beverages, and
Desserts. Continue to organize your selections
into groups (Possible groupings must be
Appetizers, Salads, Main Dishes, Side Dishes,
Desserts, Beverages, and Family
Favorites). Once you have accomplished this you
will create the first page on the inside of
your Cookbook, your table of contents, on which
you list by category, and numbers, all
of your recipe pages. You can also check an
existing cookbook to see how they are organized.
1.
9. Section Dividers: You will construct creative dividers
for each category. You may use clip art, magazine
pictures, or drawings to illustrate your divider pages.
After each divider page, list the recipes included in
that section, then follow with the recipes, page
numbered as listed. Do this for each section of your
book.
