Check hook attachment not welded and that lock pin is in place
Runs freely over chain wheel for full length of chain
Hand Chain No broken or joined chain links
No sharp edges of chain
Check for signs of heat damage
Check for pitting or heavy rust
Load Chain Check that load chain enters load sprocket for full length of chain
Check for any deformation of links
Check security of chain anchor point
Check for any missing bolts or loose side plates
Check for legibility of ID Number
Check for dents that may have caused internal damage or restricts
Body operation
Check spider gear wheel for damage
Check ratchet operation in both directions
Check SWL is clearly marked
Check body clean of dirt, rust etc.
Check that ratchet mechanism operates freely in both directions
