Can we possibly identify and extract dinosaur DNA?
The concept of identifying and extracting dinosaur DNA was already explored
in Steven Spielberg's famous film, Jurassic Park. However, current science and
knowledge can explain whether or not this possibility exists. Nonetheless, in real life,
this type of scientific experience is still fiction, and it faces a number of challenges
that keep it from becoming a reality. To gain a better understanding, we must
investigate the concepts and limitations underlying this challenge, which must be the
desire of many palaeontologists.
There are different kinds of people. Some that would be purely terrified of the
thought of bringing dinosaurs back, and others who would be absolutely
mesmerised. Now, how would we react if we saw a real life dinosaur standing in
front of us? The chances of that happening are very unlikely, and dinosaur cloning is
still a sci-fi fantasy, since not a single fragment of dinosaur DNA has ever been found
so far, and most likely never will be.
If thought about it, dinosaurs ruled the earth for over 140 million years before
people took over. In the name of science, bringing back dinosaurs would be
endlessly cruel to any wildlife in the current days. It would also be just as cruel, if not
more horrible, to bring dinosaurs back. Dinosaurs would have to get used to modern
day-to-day-life.
If a dinosaur were to be resurrected, you would have to think of all the
consequences that would come with it. Dinosaurs used to breathe different air, live
around different creatures, have different food sources, and different instincts
because of the different environment. Not only that, but also the changes that
happened to the world itself during the years. Sea levels rising, continents in different
positions, climate change, difference in temperature, and more.
According to National Geographic’s page on fossil DNA discovered in a
dinosaur skull, researchers have discovered what appears to be actual cells frozen
inside of the fossils. They contain shapes that seem to look like nuclei and coils that
resemble chromosomes. Although, they are not confirmed to be DNA, although some
type of cell that miraculously survived.
On a day-to-day basis, it is also most likely that people would rather not have
to be scared for their lives whenever going out for a walk, and to have to expect a
velociraptor at every corner.

Because of the problems that we’ve been causing to earth, that has heavily
impacted the theory of not being able to bring dinosaurs back. This is because by the
huge alternation in the temperature, it makes it so that there’s a higher probability of
the dinosaurs not even surviving in the first place.
In conclusion, what would be the consequences of this actually being a
possibility? If we could bring back something so old such as a dinosaur, what’s
stopping us from bringing back your dead family members, or someone very close to
you from coming back from the dead? What would be the consequences of doing so
in the state of overpopulation in the world right now?
