INTRODUCTION

This document describes the basic infrastructure for the operation of Mastersafdw application.

MASTERSAFDW FEATURES

Mastersafdw is a Data Warehouse which uses Oracle as a database administrator and programs written in
Power Builder, acting as client, therefore, being a client/server application.
Due to these features, the system requires a large capacity from the processor, communication line
(network), in addition to a continuous database tuning work.

MASTERSAFDW COMPONENTS

DATABASE SERVER (COMPULSORY)

Machine where the Oracle Database Administrator will be installed. This server must have enough disks
and processors to support Mastersafdw requirements.
NOTE: We recommend that the Database Server is unique to mastersafdw.

WORKSTATIONS (COMPULSORY)

Machine with Windows 7 which will be used by the Mastersafdw application users to operate, process and
extract reports from the system.

Note: Mastersafdw is not compatible with Windows 2000.

APPLICATION SERVER (OPTIONAL)

Machine with Windows (2003 or 2008), which will be used as a File Server, thus centralizing the storage
of Mastersafdw application’s executable programs.
The main benefit of this server is to prevent the programs from being saved in each workstation, which
will impair possible updates.

SApplication Server (optional)

Version: 11
MASTERSAF DW BASIC INFRASTRUCTURE

Machine with Windows (2003, or 2008), or TS (Terminal Service) and Metaframe, which may be used as
an application server, centralizing application processing. In this case the workstations start operating
as terminal only.
With this server, in addition to application and processing centralization, the remote users will have the
greater benefits, since the processing will be carried out locally.

ORACLE CLIENT (COMPULSORY)

Despite not being a Mastersafdw package component, the Oracle Client is essential for the operation of
the Mastersafdw application. It is through the same that there is communication between the workstation
and/or the application server and the Database Server.
Note: The use of the Oracle Client 32 bits is compulsory. If the operating system is Windows 7 or Windows
2008 is required using the version of Oracle 11g Release 2, preferably [Link] or higher.
Any version less than 11 g Oracle is no longer supported.

MASTERSAFDW APPLICATION (COMPULSORY)

The Mastersafdw application is the component installed in the workstations/application server, being
comprised by programs written in Power Builder, which provide the visual interface of the products.
The entire processing and report generation actions are commanded by these programs.

HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS

DATABASE SERVER

Operational systems

All 64-bit Operational systems supported and accredited by Oracle Server 11g Release 2 will be accepted,
preferably UNIX-Like.

MINIMUM RECOMMENDATION

CONSIDERATIONS

The recommendations contained in this document are minimum configurations for the Mastersafdw
system processing, not taking into consideration the level of service desired by the client and separating
all further technical components of the infrastructure used.
TSL is not held responsible for performance or configuration difficulties in the equipment acquired by
client, even if, it has somehow suggested a certain configuration.
We warn that the equipment or configurations contained in this document have to be revised on a
yearly basis, and, if necessary, equipment upgrades or replacement have to be carried out. It is
extremely important that the equipment chosen for the solution installation is scalable.
We also remind that these recommendations are for equipment used solely by the Mastersafdw
application, with the software versions contained in this document.

SUGGESTION FOR CONFIGURATION

If applicable, TSL may suggest a minimum Database server configuration for Mastersafdw. In this
case, please send a request to your Business Representative or Account Manager.
In order to calculate the disk space and the Database server configuration, it is necessary to fill in a
questionnaire in which the company’s monthly flow volume will be informed.
