Union of Nations and its Social Impact

Word Count: 958

In the article that has been given, the subject of Economic Globalization is

addressed. To the best of my knowledge, the term "globalization" refers to the

interaction and cooperation that occurs between several nations. It is the joining

together of many different unions for the goal of trading inventions, exchanging assets,

or trading commodities with one another. Globalization may be advantageous for certain

countries, but at the same time, it may be counterproductive for others, either in terms

of their cultures or their economies. According to the findings of (Ghazouani, 2022),

it implies that the expansion of commercial trade is the primary driver behind the

process that economists and sociologists refer to as "globalization," which may be

defined as the internationalization of world economies. The findings of this study were

published in the journal Globalization and World Economy. Because of the important

nature of the role that globalization plays, many countries' attempts to become more

open, both economically and to FDI, have been pushed on by globalization. This is true

both in terms of economic investment and foreign direct investment.

The three most significant ideas that I picked up from the reading are as follows.

First, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) highlights

one aspect of globalization, which is the sophistication of the linkages between

countries. This complexity is due to global production networks and global value chains,

which have increased overseas investment flows and intra-firm trade and have made
them progressively interdependent on one another. Next, growing international

commerce and direct investments from other countries are just two aspects of

globalization. Changes brought about by globalization include the exportation of

technological know-how and the expansion of cross-border flows of services. In addition

to becoming more in-depth and widespread, globalization now involves an ever-

increasing number of nations actively engaging in the process. A very intriguing

collection of definitions centers on the concept as globalization is a procedure that

requires the quickening and deepening of interconnections and connections between

various parties. Lastly, the concept of globalization is not a recent occurrence. The first

era of globalization occurred between the years 1880 and 1913, the second wave

occurred after the end of the Second World War, and there are voices discussing the

possibility of a third wave of globalization after the current crisis. It is feasible for such a

severe crisis to have structural impacts on the system that governs the whole world.

There are three things in the essay that I do not quite understand. The first of them

is an explanation for why commerce flows during the current global financial crisis have

dropped down so much more precipitously than they happened during the Great

Recession. Second, when European Union's anthology cannot locate a one-of-a-kind

material pertaining to globalization anywhere on the EU site. There are many distinct

policies within the EU that are connected to the many aspects of globalization, such as

external commerce, development and aid, external relations, environmental policy, and

information society, among others. In addition, the European Union has, with the

assistance of Eurostat, produced a list of globalization indices that details the primary

tiers of globalization. Finally, the ever-evolving nature of globalization is a formidable

obstacle for researchers attempting to analyze such a convoluted process. Another

effect of the crisis was the major decline in foreign direct investment as well as

international commerce.

The three items that occupied most of my mental space when reading the

selected article. To begin, I am aware that every nation will benefit in some way from

the process of globalization. via the trading of goods, services, and so on, as well as the

increased sharing of technological advances or innovative ideas. Second, while there

are many benefits to globalization, it is not without its drawbacks. The intense

movement of commodities from one place to another might be one factor that

contributes to environmental damage. The following reason is that other nations'

incomes are far higher than those in their own country. The state of the economy in the

people's homeland, which is also the result of inflation, is one of the primary reasons

why they do not want to return and work there. Finally, as a result of globalization,

certain individuals in some countries abandon their own culture in favor of adopting the

norms and values of other countries. In one sense, something is either harmful or

excellent. This is bad because it shows a lack of respect for your own culture. It's good

since it allows you to communicate with individuals from different countries. Based on

the research (Walter, 2021) The globalization backlash instills in voter achievements of

market liberalization parties, a more deleterious tone in party political discussion about

globalization, and a raise in protectionist, separatist, or rightist policies to stop or curtail

institutional, diplomatic, and/or socially constructed globalization. Material and

nonmaterial reasons underlie the globalization backlash, and it's crucial to understand

how they interact.

The three inquiries that I have about the article that we have been reading. How

are we going to be able to tackle the challenges that globalization has caused? Second,

what will the effects of the present problems that are taking place throughout the globe

have on globalization? And last, does globalization have a greater influence on

corporate or national cultures?

In the process of writing this paper, I have come to the conclusion that there are

positive and negative aspects associated with globalization. Depending on factors like

its economy, culture, technological advancements, commodities, and many more

factors. It is possible that the outcome will depend on how individuals respond to this

phenomenon. And the fact that we lack the ability to have any influence on it. Last but

not least, not everyone goes through the same exact process.
