Sustainable Agriculture Reflection Report

The student volunteered at the Atabey Garden with the Pro-Agriculture Student Coalition, carrying out various tasks like planting, cleaning, creating seedlings, and watering. The most important thing learned was that monocultures are less effective than diverse plantings which help avoid pests and contribute to genetic diversity. The best work done was carrying heavy donations to the greenhouse. While enjoying planting medicinal plants, the least enjoyable part was the many mosquitoes. For next time, the project could be improved by offering more days/hours to volunteer and providing a rubric for the progress report.
