17. What is Tree Topology? Write 2-2 Advantages & Disadvantages.
Tree Topology has combined features of bus and star topologies. Multiple star topologies are combined together
through central cable or bus. Tree network looks like a tree structure as shown in figure.
Advantages:
i. It allows more devices to be connected to the central Hub.
Disadvantages:
i. It is more expensive because more hubs are required to be installed in the network.
18. What is Mesh Topologies. Write 2-2 Advantages & Disadvantages.
In mesh topologies, each node is directly connected to every other node on the network. This type of network
involves the concept of routes. It is rarely used in LAN.
Advantages:
i. It is easy to Troubleshoot as compared with other networks.
ii. It provides multiple routers, If one blocked than other will be used for communication.
Disadvantages:
i. It becomes very expensive because large number of cabling and i/o units are required.
ii. It is difficult to install and configure.

The above diagram shows an ovrall view ot the layers of OSI Model. The sender sends data at layer 7.
The data and information moves from layer to layer in descending sequentional order. The data is in the form of
electromgnatic signals. The physical layer receives data in the form of binary bits and than moves from layer to
layer, So than receiver can receiver the accurate data.
