CPR/AR (ADULT)

STEP 1: SCENE SURVEY..


FA: The scene is safe, I have ________ possible victim lying on the ground. I
am ____________________________, a trained first aider, I have my mask, gloves,
or PPE.

FA: Can I Help?


Assessor (Yes)

STEP 2: Check for Consciousness/Responsiveness

Tap the shoulder twice

FA: Hey hey mam/sir are you Ok!

Assessor: Unconscious/unresponsive

FA: Help activate medical assistance as I assess the victim.

STEP 3: Check the Airway!

ADULT (maximum head-tilt-chin maneuver)

FA: Look for possible obstruction..


Assessor: obstruction seen.
FA: remove obstruction using index finger
STEP 4: Check the Breathing (Look, Listen and Feel) for 10 sec

FA: 1001,1002,1003,1004……….1010.

Assessor: Negative breathing

FA: Give 2 initial blows

STEP 5: CHECK FOR CIRCULATION

FA: Feel the carotid pulse for 10 seconds

1001,1002,1003,1004……….1010.

Assessor: negative pulse, negative breathing

PERFORM CARDIO PULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR)

FA: Help reactivate medical assistance as I do CPR.

STEP 4: Check the Breathing (Look, Listen and Feel) for 10 sec

Assessor: Negative breathing


FA: Give 2 initial blows

Assessor: Air bounces back

FA: give 5 back blows and 5 chest thrusts

Repeat Step 3 and 4

STEP 5: CHECK FOR CIRCULATION

FA: Feel the carotid pulse for 10 seconds

1001,1002,1003,1004……….1010.

Assessor: negative pulse, negative breathing

PERFORM CARDIO PULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR)
