AVES, JEFERSON
Personal, Community and Environmental Health in preliminary discussion, I have
learned the 8 dimensions of well and narrow and broad perspective. Sir Jimmy, delivered the
lecture very carefully and concise. I realized that it is very important to me to take care of my
health because it is the main core of our life. Regarding in the narrow and broad perspective it is
very important knowledge for me because now I can determine a person whether it is a narrow or
broad he/she experiencing like illness or disability.
In midterm, we discuss the community health under this is the characteristics of healthy
community that is based on world health organization (2002), primary health care, secondary
health care, and tertiary health care. And, discuss the health center services and its functions like
maternal health care, child health care, nutrition program and etc. I thought these health care is
simple services but it has a big impact and help to our community because they are the one that
we reach if we need help in terms of health they are the one that we can get first to help us. Also,
we conducted a Coastal Clean-up at Barangay, Bawing, General Santos City and because of that
I realized that we need also to take care of our nature not just ourselves because without the
nature we are nothing, we do picking up garbage’s on the sea shore and transferring big tress so
that it will not cause roadblock. Lastly, Sir Jimmy gave us an activity on how to properly teach
children if we are going to be a teacher in the near future and preparation for next school year
teaching demonstration. I thought it is so simple to demo but it is so hard because we need to
make first a lesson plan, deep research, study, and understanding of what subject or topic I will
need to discuss in order for my students to easily understand the information’s the I’m giving to
them. So that, next year, I have a knowledge on how to perform a teaching demonstrations.
Overall, this subject gave me knowledge about the Personal, Community and
Environmental Health, thank you sir Jimmy, lagi mong tatandaan mahal ka naming lahat. <3
YONG, SHAINA
In certain period of time, I have learned a lot of things during our discussion in our prelim
topics. We discussed the 8 dimensions of wellness (emotional wellness, physical wellness,
occupational wellness, intellectual wellness, financial wellness, social wellness, environmental
wellness, and the spiritual wellness) it gives us how important those wellnesses in our life. If any
one of these 8 dimensions of wellness is neglected, it will adversely affect one health, well-
being, and quality of life. There is no better way to do that than by using the 8 dimensions of
wellness as a guide for living a positive lifestyle where we can truly thrive.
In our midterm topic, we talked about the community health and the 7 perennial issues
which is interesting to me and I feel like the class improved my understanding of the way on why
it’s so important to have a healthy community and environment. In this topic I have learned
about community health along with many issues that every community faces.
CHAVEZ, MILDRED
Personal, Community and Environmental Health is really helpful that could help me gain
knowledge about certain topics such as the Human Health, Environmental Health and
Community Health. It provides me the knowledge that is related to my field. This subject
purpose is to encompasses the assessment and control of those environmental factors that can
potentially affect health. It is targeted towards preventing disease and creating health-supportive
environments. The subject’s purpose helps me as an individual to have broad idea on what is the
reason why we have to study this.
Me as a PE major student is very grateful for having the opportunity to let us tackle the
lessons wisely and vigorously. Though Personal, Community and Environmental Health gave me
some mix of emotions such as a lot of excitement on what will be the next topic that will be
discussed, having a stressful work as a student because of studying hard on this to pass the
subject and as well as to learn comprehensively the topics that are discussed. The topics covered
each week gave me the opportunity to increase my knowledge and gain more information in
many areas. Having an interest in teaching when I started this course has now grown to having
an interest in learning as well.
To sum it all, the learning that I have discovered and gained will be always in my mind. I,
myself, have improved my learning on this topic by studying hard Therefore, as a future
educator, the information that I learned will surely help me to share and to educate my future
student what I have learned.
ORTIZ, DAVID JOSEPH ISAAC
In Prelim, we think that this subject is would specific in 5 dimension of health whereas,
we started on discussing the Broad and Narrow perspective of Health. With this we able to
define and specify the diseases and illness through narrow and broad. This subject emphasized
that the we couldn't hear and feel or see the lain and diseases of people experiences. Along with
this we also tackled the importance of aspect of our health from physical, social, mental,
emotional and spiritual as well as the 8 wellness that human should nurture.
In Midterm, through human dimension and wellness in midterm we discussed the 7
perennial Health Community Problems in which our community always faced. These problems
are clearly evident from all community because of human ignorance and tolerated actions. This
reflect that my community has poor evaluation when it comes for promoting health because my
community has poor sanitation area, unresolved of MRF and etc. in which it should resolve first
because Health is Wealth. Furthermore, of discussing we also conduct Coastal Clean Up at
Barangay Bawing as good actions were we promote Clean and Green.
For Final, lastly through our discussion and actions have done now symposium is the last
activity in which we discuss the importance of Community Health and the role of community
health and how to promote healthy living lifestyle.
OSORIO, JYD KYRT
"Health is Wealth". In prelim, we begin discussing the Broad and Narrow perspective of
health whereas we classify the diseases and illnesses difference and where they belong. Through
role playing as our assessment we apply the importance health in our daily activities. Aside
broad and narrow perspective of health is our teacher giving us a topic in which we discussed the
importance of health through our daily activities, the health and wellness and lifestyle of human
individual which help me and conceptualize how to avoid toxic lifestyle.
Midterm, through studying the philosophical of health through human being alone isn't
enough to have healthy lifestyle but considering the environment in which we discussed the
Seven Perennial Health Community where we need to resolve the existing problem of
community and live in harmony.
Final, Conducting of symposium. This discussion emphasized how health relevant is and
stepping stone of promoting of health in the community.
GANAL, ELEZER
During prelim, it was fun and creative at the same time while learning the importance of
Health, Community, and Health Community. We define Health in our own words as well as the
Community, and Community Health. We are being task to do our Dream Community. In our
Dream Community we can write freely about our Dream to become reality or to be recognize in
our Community. We’re given a task also to report and to role-playing our Dream Community.
We are given also to become a researcher and reporter and gathering data to our community. To
know more about our facilities, workers and others. As the time goes by we are being conscious
now about or what are happening in our community. We must be wise and be helpful to every
family in our community because community itself represents the diverse family that will teach
us to care for humanity.
In midterm, from being a reporter and researcher from our Prelim we became a hero in
our Midterm. We are given a chance to save our marine life animals and marine life creatures. In
the coastal of Barangay Bawing I realize more about how beautiful our mother nature. It is
beautiful with or without us human beings. Nature is bounty and beautiful however since many
us are abusing mother earth, mother nature, I am now scared of what’s going through the years
because of our ignorance and apathy. We should change our actions and we should always think
before doing something else. We must know what could be the effects on mother earth and living
creatures. We always think that we are the superior living creatures. Yes, may we think that we
but in reality we are the causes of global warming. Global warming is good however because of
our dominant pollution we are the causes of the intensity or the increasing pressure of the world.
We should change our actions as soon as possible. We should move before it’s too late.
And lastly, finals. This might be the stress part of the world char lang ha. We have our
Physical Educators Guild of GenSan meeting last Monday. We became busy and stress about
everything but the help. Of our teachers especially the PE Teacher’s we became strong enough to
face challenges with them. Yesterday and earlier we have our moving quiz I think. It was a bit
easy however the timer can make you blank during the quiz because of the thirty-five seconds
buzzer. It was fun and I hope I got a hunger score but I know that it is impossible but, I believe
that nothing is impossible with Sir Jimmy F. Solequiz, LPT soon to be MAEd. Manifesting for
your success Sir because your success is our success too.
I am always grateful to your words and helping hands as always. I pray that you will
become healthy to inspire others to achieve their dreams no matter what the trials, problems is
because, together we will because we can. We can do all things by having Solidarity and
Cooperation.
GALANO, JELAI
In Prelim, we defined first what is health in our own perspective in which it is the
foundation to build a healthy lifestyle. Followed with the two (2) perspective the Narrow and
Broad Perspective which we defined, specify and performed a mini role-play to know if we
better understand the different diseases / illnesses that belongs to the narrow or broad
perspective. Lastly, we've discussed the 8 dimensions of wellness the Physical, Emotional,
Social, Intellectual, Spiritual, Occupational, Financial and Environmental Wellness in which we
really need to be holistically healthy.
In Midterm, we assigned to do a group reporting where the 7 Perennial Health
Community Problems which are the Waste Disposal, Peace and Order, Drug Abuse Prevention,
Disease Control, Food Sanitation, Water Supply and Human Excreta and Sewages are the
problems that we are facing in our community which we have to take actions to prevent and
promote a healthy community. Also, we've done a Coastal Clean Up at Barangay Bawing,
General Santos City last September 30, 2022 as a good action that we can do to promote a clean
and green environment.
Finally, the finals were we've done a seminar about our subject which is the Personal,
Community and Environmental Health in which it discusses its importance, benefits and
solutions to promote a healthy lifestyle and healthy community.
PALADIN, GENNY LOU
While we began by talking about the broad and narrow perspectives of health in prelim,
we believe that this subject should be more focused on the five dimensions of health. This allows
us to define and describe diseases and illnesses in both limited and broad terms. This topic
emphasized the point that we were unable to perceive human illnesses or lain experiences. Along
with this, we also discussed the significance of the eight wellness-related aspects of human
wellness, including the physical, social, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our health.
The midterm, in our midterm discussion on human dimension and wellness, we covered
the 7 enduring health community problems that our community has always faced. Due to
ignorance and acceptable behavior on the part of humans, this problem is evidently affecting the
entire community. Because my town has inadequate sanitation, unresolved MRF issues, and
other issues that should be addressed first because health is wealth, this shows that my
community has a low evaluation when it comes to improving health. In addition to talking, we
also perform a coastal clean-up in Barangay Bawing as a positive action where we encourage
being clean and green.
Finally, the symposium is the last activity in which we discuss the value of community
health, its function, and how to encourage healthy lifestyles. Through our discussions and actions
to date.
AMOR, SOPHIA
In the preliminary session, we thought that this topic was very specific in 5 dimensions of
health, but we began by talking about the broad and narrow perspectives of health. Through
narrow and broad, we can define and describe the diseases and illnesses. This topic emphasized
that we couldn't hear, feel, or see the pain and diseases that people were going through. Along
with this, we talked about the importance of all parts of our health, including the physical, social,
mental, emotional, and spiritual, as well as the 8 aspects of health that people should focus on.
In Midterm, In the middle of the semester, we talked about the 7 Health Community
Problems that our community has always had. This problem is caused by people's ignorance and
the fact that they let bad things happen. This shows that my community doesn't do a good job of
promoting health because there aren't enough clean areas, the MRF isn't fixed, and other
problems that should be fixed first because "Health is Wealth." In addition to talking, we also do
Coastal Clean Up at Barangay Bawing as a good way to promote Clean and Green.
For Last, Finally, we've talked and taken action, and now the symposium is the last thing
we do to talk about the importance of community health, its role, and how to promote healthy
living.
DONAIRE, JOSHUA
In prelim, as we categorize the various diseases and illnesses and their classifications, we
start talking about the broad and narrow perspectives on health. Role-playing exercises help us
apply the importance of health to our regular activities. Beyond the broad and specific views of
health, our teacher gave us a topic in which we addressed the significance of health via our
everyday activities, the health and wellbeing, and lifestyle of human individuals, which helped
me and conceive how to avoid hazardous lifestyle.
Midterm. We addressed the Seven Perennial Health Community, where we must tackle
the current problems of the community and live in harmony, in order to understand the
philosophical aspects of health and how human beings alone cannot lead healthy lifestyles.
Final. Staging a symposium. This conversation underlined the importance of health and
how important it is to start promoting health in the neighborhood.
MADURA, TRISHIA JOY
In line with the teachings for the preliminary, midterm, and final exams, personal,
community, and environmental health open my eyes to a larger view on the various aspects of
this subject. In contrast, in the prelim lesson, they handled the Narrow and Broad viewpoint of
health, where we classify the difference between illness and illnesses and where they belong. For
example, they learned a lot throughout the conversation. Additionally, we performed the
significance of those two viewpoints on health in a role-play. They talk about fitness, including
its six components for skill-related fitness and its five components for fitness connected to
health. I also studied the meaning of wellness and its eight (8) aspects, as well as what a healthy
lifestyle is, as well as its significance and how we should avoid leading inactive lives.
In addition, during our midterm class, our instructor offers us a little exercise called
"Word Removal" that requires us to cross out a few words to reveal the topic that will be covered
next, in this case, community health. Our lecturer discussed community health, the concept of
health, and the term itself during the conversation. Additionally, we must create a Venn diagram
outlining the parallels and differences between our ideal or idealized community and the actual
community. A further announcement from our teacher that our coastal clean-up effort will take
place at Barangay Bowing made us happy since it provided us an opportunity to contribute. We
also learn about the three (3) healthcare systems, which are elements of a healthy community
which include the primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare; and the seven (7) perennial
community health concerns. The primary healthcare comprises the community healthcare
program.
Last but not least, as a final exam, our teacher and officials intend to hold a symposium
or seminar. Overall, this course strives to improve our understanding of the health challenges and
difficulties that the community faces.
BALDEVARONA, SHYNA MARIE
In prelim we discuss Health and Wellness. Health is a state of being free from illness and
Injury and Wellness is the act of practicing healthy habits on a daily basis to attain better
physical and mental health outcomes, so that instead of just surviving, you’re thriving. We
divided into 3 groups for reporting about The 8 dimensions of Wellness, Fitness and Healthy
Lifestyle. The 8 dimensions of Wellness are Physical Wellness, Intellectual Wellness, Emotional
Wellness, Spiritual Wellness, Environmental Wellness, Financial Wellness, Occupational
Wellness and Social Wellness. We have an activity etc.
And in Midterm we will have a Demo by group. We Demo the 7 Perennial
Community Health Problem. First is the Waste Disposal, Peace and Order, Drug Abuse
Prevention and control, Water Supply, Human Excreta and Sewage and Food Sanitation. Our
Group Demo the Food Sanitation we were the 5th in demo. We do our best to make our demo
clear and Good presenter. And sir Andrew likes our Visual Aids. And the other group well done
too.
HEQUIN, DECILYN
In this entire Prelim with this subject PERSONAL, COMMUNITY, and
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH has given me a lot of knowledge, such as by discussing about
the Narrow and Broad Perspectives of Health, this allows us to define and describe diseases and
illnesses in both limited and broad terms. This topic stressed the fact that we were unable to
perceive human illnesses or experiences.
Along with this, we also discuss What is Fitness and its skills and health related fitness.
And the important of being physically active that can help you to maintain a healthy body, and
improve your cognitive health. In the other hand, we tackled also The 8 Dimension of Wellness
that taught as the important of each aspect of wellness can affect overall quality of life, so it’s
important to consider all aspects of health. As well, we were assigned to create a video, about
physical activity that the one of the best to keep our body healthy which we are grateful for that
because we got to see what capabilities are possible and gathered information about that we can
share how to be a healthy person in the near future.
During Midterm, we discussed about the 7 Perennial Health Community Problems in
which this are always faced in our community. This issue is clearly having an impact on the
entire community because due to human ignorance, accepted behavior and unwise actions of the
human. Along with discussing, we also conducted a Coastal Clean Up Drive at Barangay Bawing
General Santos City that we aim to encourages the coastal stewards to get their beaches and help
limit this problem by cleaning up the garbage that has washed up on the shore and left by visitors
every day. And aside of that we aim to promote an environmental awareness.
Lastly taught me a lot, and it demonstrated how important it is to understand the potential
benefits of learning this subject. I feel blessed that this subject will help my future and that I will
be able to share what I have learned and why it is important to study this subject with others.
PUYOS, LYKA JAY NICOLE
The Personal, Community and Environmental Health introduce me to a wider perspective
about the diverse topics of this subject in line with the Prelim, Midterm and Finals lessons.
Instance, I acquired a lot of knowledge during the discussion, whereas in the prelim lesson, they
tackled the Narrow and Broad perspective of health, where we classify the difference between
illness and diseases and where they belong. Moreover, we had a role play where we performed
the importance of those two perspectives on health. They discuss fitness; its five components of
health-related fitness and six components of skill-related fitness. I also learned about the
definition and the eight (8) dimensions of wellness; what is a healthy lifestyle, its five (5) key
elements, its importance, and how we should avoid living a sedentary lifestyle.
Furthermore, in our midterm lesson, our instructor first gives us a short activity called
"Word Removal" where we need to cross out some words to find out the next topic, wherein the
result is community health. During the discussion, our instructor tackled the definition of health,
community, and community health itself. We are also tasked with making a Venn diagram to list
down the similarities and different characteristics between our ideal/dream and the existing
community. Moreover, our instructor announced that we were going to have our coastal clean-up
drive in Barangay Bawing, which gave us contentment because we were given a chance to help.
In addition, we gain an understanding of the characteristics of a healthy community; the three (3)
healthcare systems, which are the primary, where this includes the healthcare program in the
community, the secondary, and tertiary healthcare; and the seven (7) perennial health community
problems.
Lastly, our instructor, along with our officers, is planning to have a symposium or
seminar as our finals. Overall, this subject aims to broaden our perspective and knowledge about
the health issues and problems in the community.
BARO, KENJIENEL ESIC
On the prelim class the topic that was discusses by sir jimmy solequiz is so interesting. It
deepens my understanding about the related fitness and dimensions of health and wellness. In
which I learned that in physically health and emotional health can improve your brain health,
help manage weight, reduce the risk of disease, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve your
ability to do everyday activities. I remembered when sir jimmy asks us about "DO WE
CONSIDER OUR SELF HEALTHY?" and my answer to his question is. I do not consider
myself as healthy because the fact that I don’t sleep 8 hours a day and I do not eat healthy foods
also if I have problems I usually own it instead of sharing it to my circles that leads me to
depression. I am very curious with what the governments conducting their strategies on how they
kept their community Healthy. I found this topic interesting to learn and this topic is community
health.
Community health. Is such an interesting topic i learned what are the responsibilities of
each person in a community? In maintaining healthy community, it starts within yourself, the
disciplinary actions that you apply in yourself can give positive impact to our environment.
Responsibilities towards community are an individual's duties or obligations to the community
and include cooperation, respect, and participation. The concept goes beyond thinking and acting
as individuals to common beliefs about shared interests and life. We assigned to discuss water
supply it talks about the distribution of water and a safe water to drink in a community. And I
realize with this topic that some people are so lucky because they are not experiencing water
crisis. Other countries they have lack of water supply and mostly they can just drink during rainy
days just for them to survive and do not feel thirsty. And I’m so blessed that i belong to a
community where plenty of water supplies like dumpsites. After all the discussion in midterm we
conducted coastal clean-up in bawing. We collected garbage’s and i observe before we start our
task the area has so many plastic gallons, plastic cellophane and base on what their barangay
captain tells us that before, the area is open to public people but due to numbers of garbage’s
found in the area it is temporarily closed.
Furthermore, in finals, we initiated to have symposium in line with this subject. The
purpose of this symposium is for us to enlighten more about the importance and benefits of doing
such activities. And i am so excited because it is another day that ends with knowledge. And
hopefully those learnings can be a long term memory to be remembered if get older. In this
chapter. I learned what are the issues in a community that should be addresses for it to be settled
and secured. It will also give as an idea on how we fix problems in our community to maintain
healthy community.
REAL, CHRISTIAN
In this term the lesson or topics that we tackled is all about health and what is the two
perspective of health and it is the Broad and Narrow perspective of health whereas we focus on
what is the difference of diseases and illnesses. Also we have performances like role playing and
we take it as our assessment we apply the importance’s and learnings that we learned from health
in our daily activities. Lastly the teacher gives us some topic to discussed like what is the
importance of health through our daily activities and the health and wellness.
In this midterm we studied the philosophical of health through human being alone also
this is not just to have healthy lifestyle but considering the other sectors and environment. Also
we conduct a clean-up drive and it became successful and it gives as a good experience. The
Seven Perennial Health Community is what we all need to resolve the existing problem of
community and live in harmony that we deserve.
DE GUZMAN, VERGIL
In Prelim, we think that this subject is would specific in 5 dimension of health whereas,
we started on discussing the Broad and Narrow perspective of Health and Fitness that it
determines as “one’s ability to execute daily activities with optimal performance, endurance, and
strength with the management of disease, fatigue, and stress and reduced sedentary behavior.”.
With this we able to define and specify the diseases and illness through narrow and broad. This
subject emphasized that we couldn't hear and feel or see the pain and diseases of people
experiences. Along with this we also tackled the importance of aspect of our health from
physical, social, mental, emotional and spiritual as well as the 8 dimensions of wellness that
human should nurture and develop.
In Midterm, through human dimension and wellness in midterm we discussed the 7
perennial Health Community Problems in which our community always faced. This problem is
clearly evident from all community because of human ignorance and tolerated actions. This
reflect that my community has poor evaluation when it comes for promoting health because my
community has poor sanitation area, unresolved of MRF and etc. in which it should resolve first
because Health is Wealth and because of that we should need to have clean and safety physical
environment to have a healthy living and healthy community. Furthermore, of discussing we also
conduct Coastal Clean Up at Barangay Bawing as good actions were we promote Clean and
Green.
For Final, lastly through our discussion and actions have done now symposium is the last
activity in which we discuss the importance of Community Health and the role of community
health and how to promote healthy living lifestyle.
SOLITARIO, JOYNALYN
Preliminary in order to identify diseases and disorders and determine their proper
classification, we first consider the broad and narrow perspectives on health. We use the
significance of health in our daily activities through role playing as our assessment method.
Aside from the broad and specific views of health, our teacher gave us a topic in which we
addressed the significance of health via our everyday activities, the health and wellbeing of
individuals, and their lifestyles, all of which helped me understand how to avoid hazardous
lifestyle.
Midterm we addressed the Seven Perennial Health Community, where we must tackle the
current problems of the community and live in harmony, in order to understand the philosophical
aspects of health and how human beings alone cannot lead healthy lifestyles.
Final, the symposium’s conduct. This talk underlined the importance of health and how
important it is to start promoting health in the neighborhood.
MARIBAO, VENUS ANDREA
In our prelim session, our teacher Sir Jimmy Solequiz introduce our title which is the
Personal, Community and Environmental Health. We've discussed the eight dimension of Health
as well as the narrow and broad prospective. Those topics gave us enlightenment how it affects
into our day to day living. Therefore, it is very important to know and learn about the prelim
topic for us to identify easily about the health condition of a person.
In our Midterm topic, we discussed about the characteristic of a healthy community that
was based on World Health Organization (2002). The subtopics are primary, secondary and
tertiary. Also the existed health services and program that discuss how it helps every individual
and their benefits and a community as a whole.
One of the highlight is the coastal clean-up that was held at Bawing, General Santos City
together with the three block mates and instructors. This clean-up drive promotes cleanliness
along the seashore, camaraderie, and most specially to protect the habitat of living sea creatures.
All of the students are heartedly help and support to the said activity. It was really fun and
amazing as we experienced it. We are grateful and privilege as our instructor required us this
kind of activity.
KAINAGE, ARNESTO
"Ilaban nani, 3rd year najud ko”, this was the first line that i have mentioned as I begin
my journey as a 3rd year student in RMMC. First week of school was kind of casual. As I've
expected, we've introduced ourselves in front of the class and shared little facts about ourselves
such as hobbies, talents, and the like. We also have regular classes about community and discuss
what healthy community looks like. In our 2nd week of classes, as usual we have regular classes
and we did reporting’s, role playing, quizzes and exam.
Midterm was quite challenging and there were a lot of things that had happened around.
It was challenging because we were tasked to do demonstration and lesson plan by our beautiful
professor and to be honest it's our first time to do such things and we were kind of naive about
those stuffs. And in the same week, aside from having regular classes, we were also tasked to do
video project and presentation about "a day in our life."
Finals. Like everyone else says, college life is pretty much unpredictable. Most of us
would imagine it as fun as we wanted it to be. But here comes the twist of every college students'
life. "Kakapoy”, "katulugon kaayo ko”, "kasakit sa akong ulo". those are Some quotes that I
have mentioned during finals because it is absolutely exhausting. However, I am very much
thankful and grateful because I was given a chance to experience those things. And so, I want to
take this opportunity to thank my very fresh professor Sir Jimmy Solequiz for sharing his
knowledge and wisdom and for making me strong enough to face new challenges in the near
future.
ADAPON, MABELLE ANN
In our prelim, I was eager to learn about the topics that was introduced to us by our
instructor which is sir Jimmy Solequiz. The topics are all about health and holistic wellness of an
individual, there are many aspects that health consists and are present and we must possess, these
are the physical health which talks about our physical body; the mental health which refers to our
mind; social health that means building harmonious relationship towards peers and family; and
spiritual health that is all about the healing and peace we feel for ourselves/ love of God. Overall,
our prelim means a lot for me especially that I learned the different wellness and health that will
surely help me and guide me towards my everyday living.
In the past midterm times, we tackled about community health, its characteristics and the
programs introduced and its function. I have acquired the knowledge about community health
which means maintaining, protecting and improving the health of all members of the community
through organized and sustain community efforts. We also talked about the seven perennial
issues that are present in the community or society namely, waste disposal, peace and order, drug
abuse, prevention and control in the community, disease control, water supply, food sanitation
and lastly, human excreta and sewage. When we were tasked to do or discuss the perennial
issues, our instructor said that we must do a proper demonstration teaching that was based on
what he instructed, along the way in doing demo teaching, I can say that our midterm taught me
a lot of things and made me experienced so much important lessons that I can use in my life and
my future career.
In our finals and as a president of this subject, we are tasked to propose a program and
must submitted to the SPS so that we can conduct this program which is the Personal
Development Symposium/Seminar. We did so much paper works but we finished in on time and
still waiting for the response and approval from admin. I know that this seminar will succor each
one of us to be a well-human being.
ABELLA, SHANE NICHA
As we moved beyond things that are most comfortable for us, as well as what our
institution think best for us, as a student, we began to face the reality at the same time. We,
students are encouraged, eager to learn and to gain knowledge and development even more
considering the fact that we are facing the new normal. This subject which is entitled ´Personal,
Community and Environmental Health´ introduced me the different perspective of every
individual about Health. And, we cannot deny that fact that everyone of us has our own
perspective in which it is what guides us. We have narrow and broad perspective of health; this is
what I remembered during class discussion. What certainly marks into my mind is that, I must
have such perspective of health like broad, in which this kind of understanding is not just
focusing on the physical aspect of a person but the holistic health of every individual. Unlike the
narrow perspective of health, it is an understanding that simply define health as the absence of
sickness and diseases and not physically impaired. Moreover, I have learned a lot also about
what community is, it’s importance and what are things that citizen must do to maintain the
health of a certain community. This is what I have learned as we started to share our
understanding and explore ideas in class with one another.
In my previous experience, during our immersion days and weeks, we already have
Community engagement such as going to places like baryos in which we teach children on how
to read and write. And, once again I was given the chance to engaged with the selected
community in which it enlightens us again how important community engagement is. As we
conducted a Coastal Clean Up Drive we did not offer a help only to people with authorities but
we already help our world for the betterment of everyone. I realized that helping one another,
voluntarily and wholeheartedly giving a hand to people would help achieve any improvement
and development. Moreover, as we go and clean, picking up any trashes beside the sea, we
segregate it from biodegradable and non-biodegradable like plastics, cans, etc. A healthy
community looks like a prepared community and that is another thing I remembered as we have
our discussion. There are lots of Health Care with their functions as well to maintain one’s health
including the whole community, those are things I’ve learned during our Coastal Clean Up.
In the finals, we are tasked to demonstrate and we discussed the following; waste
disposal, peace and order, Human excreta and sewage, water supply, Food sanitation, Disease
Control and Drug Abuse, Prevention and Control in the Community. I learned that these 8 issues
aforementioned certainly affect and will influence the condition of a certain community. As what
I have observed the following are currently observed in the community, especially in our
community, like water supply, waste disposal, peace and order, disease control and Drug abuse,
prevention and control, Human Excreta and sewage as well as food sanitation. Therefore, I
conclude that we, as a citizen of a certain community we have to be responsible enough and
render any service wholeheartedly and not just simply because we believe we need to, let us do it
for the reason that we want to and not just simply forced by someone. Unity is what makes a
community healthy and strong, thus, we must stand firm and help protect our own community.
TAVARA, ASKIAN JOHN
During our prelim, I was keen to learn about the topics introduced to us by our teacher,
Sir Jimmy Solequiz. The topics are all about an individual's health and holistic wellness. There
are many aspects that health consists of and that we must possess, such as physical health, mental
health, social health, and spiritual health. Interestingly, our preliminary is significant to me,
especially as I learned about various wellness and health topics that will undoubtedly help and
guide me towards my goals.
During the previous midterms, we discussed community health, its characteristics, the
programs presented, and their function. I've understood about community health, which signifies
maintaining, protecting, and improving the health of all community members through organized
and sustained community efforts. We also discussed the seven perennial issues that exist in the
community or society, which are waste disposal, peace and order, drug abuse, prevention, and
control in the community, disease control, water supply, food sanitation, and finally, human
excreta and sewage.
So we were assigned to do or discuss perennial issues, our instructor implied that we
must do a proper demonstration teaching that was based on what he commanded. While doing
demo teaching, I can say that our midterm taught me a lot of things and made me experience so
many valuable lessons that I can use in my life and the future professional life.
In our finals, and as the subject's treasurer, we are tasked with proposing a program that
must be submitted to the SPS in order for us to carry out this program, which is the Personal
Development Symposium/Seminar. We did a lot of paperwork’s or letters and did our best to
finish it on time to be able to receive an earlier feedback from the school head. Unfortunately, we
are still waiting for the response and I hope that teacher Jimmy will give us a chance to have an
exam if ever the seminar turned out to be a failure. Meanwhile, we also had our moving quiz
which was so hard because of the time limit but still we are still thankful for all the lessons we've
realized after the activity.
ATUEL, RITCHEL GRACE
While we began by talking about the broad and narrow perspectives of health in prelim,
we believe that this subject should be more focused on the dimensions of health. This enables us
to categorize and describe diseases and illnesses in both limited and broad terms. This topic
stressed the fact that we were unable to perceive human illnesses or lain experiences. Along with
this, we also discussed the significance of the eight wellness-related aspects of human wellness,
including the physical, social, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our health.
During midterm, we explored the seven fundamental health community problems that our
community has always encountered through the lens of social aspect and wellness. Due to
ignorance and acceptable behavior on the part of humans, this problem is evidently affecting the
entire community. As my community has been facing some issues that would affect the health of
the people, I am aware on how our leaders are trying to resolved other issues that should be
addressed first because health is wealth, this shows that my community has a high evaluation
when it comes to improving health. In addition to talking, we also perform a coastal clean-up in
Barangay Bawing as a positive action where we encourage being environmentally friendly and
clean.
Finally, the symposium is the last activity in which we examine the value of community
health, its function, and how to encourage healthy lifestyles. Through our discussions and actions
to date.
OLIVEROS, DANIELLE KRISTA
I've learnt a lot in this CPC8 Personal, Community and Environmental Health course that
has truly opened my eyes, especially in regards to how my participation as a citizen in a
community affects the community's growth. Furthermore, we fully grasp what health actually
means. In our prelim, we discussed what health entails and its two perspectives, which greatly
expanded our knowledge regarding the topic and allow us to better comprehend how this all
influences us in our daily lives. This subject has evolved into a means of clarifying the ideal
definition of health in terms of a person's various dimensions in order to reach wellness, which is
essential to become productive and lead to luxurious lives that we won't regret living.
In our midterm and finals, we explored the community and what makes it healthy. On top
of that, it provided us with the chance to actively participate in a task that molded us both as a
social group and an individual. Our CN 5411 together with the other CN of Sir Jimmy Solequiz,
conducted a Coastal Clean Up drive in Barangay Bawing. This project aims to encourage
everyone that in every action we do will help our community leading into something that will
turn back to us, particularly, helping us to live healthily through physical, social and
psychological. We also identify the seven persistent issues that affect community health, and we
are tasked with thoroughly discussing them so that we can determine the best course of action to
take in order to avoid unfavorable situations that prevent us from building a community that
fosters positive development.
This topic has helped me learn more about a variety of subjects that relate to community,
environmental, and human health. It gives me knowledge pertaining to my area of expertise. This
topic's goal is to cover the evaluation and management of environmental factors that may have a
negative impact on health.
Being able to approach the teachings intelligently and meticulously is something I as a
student majoring in PE am really appreciative of. I had a range of feelings while taking Personal,
Community, and Environmental Health, including anticipation about the next topics.
Nevertheless, I come to realization that I am interested with this subject, as I reflected its core
objective.
BENIGA, JOHN MARC
On our CPC 8 we've started our lesson discussing what is health and how important it is.
To which is the core of our subject "Personal, community and Environmental Health" under the
supervision of our subject teacher sir, Jimmy Solequiz, Lpt. In continuation of our topic, we've
discussed the eight dimensions of wellness and its benefits and importance. As well as the health
and skill related fitness.
Our midterm was exciting and challenging for we are divided into groups to report health
promotion programs, through teaching demonstration. I am thankful with this since we are able
to practice our profession through this activity. Also, we have done costal clean up drive on
bawing area as our culmination of our topic community health.
Recently on our finals, we are assign to conduct a symposium in relevance to our subject
Personal, Community and Environmental Health as our culminating activity for the whole term.
PEDRANO, SHINE VINCENT
In a certain period of time from class started until now of this subject Personal,
Community and Environmental Health we discuss a lot in relation to Community Health during
the discussions I have learned the different ways to solve different kinds of community health
problems. All the knowledge that I have acquired in this short period of time I realized that there
is so much things to learn that can help me someday and also by the knowledge that I have
gained I can also help to other people specially in my community by sharing my learnings to
them.
In this Midterm period we also do a lot of reporting’s and that helps me a lot to improve
my confidence in standing in front of the class and making me comfortable to talk in front I also
learned the right way demonstrate the lesson plan.
Overall I am thankful to our instructor that he shares to us his wisdom and knowledge on
how to demonstrate right also for guiding us to improve our knowledge and skills. I have learned
many lessons in prelim and midterm in the subject of personal, community and Environmental
Health that I can use in real life situations.
PAGLUMOTAN, GERALDINE
In our Prelim, we discuss about the 5 dimension of health. First, we tackled the Broad
and Narrow perspective of Health. Definitely we define and specify the diseases and illness
through narrow and broad. This subject focuses on the health of everyone as it specifies and
ensure the healthy lifestyle and wellbeing of people living in a community. We also tackled the 8
dimensions’ wellness, and its importance to our health, belong with this are physical, social,
mental, emotional and spiritual. This wellness is very important because it's plays a vital role in
everyone's life.
In our Midterm, we tackled about the 7 perennial Health Community Problems, and this
are the problems that exist in our community. The main point of this topic is to give the solutions
of every problem that our community facing, especially and specifically the health and wellness
of the people in community this includes the peace and order, waste disposal, food sanitation,
human excreta and sewage. That are the main problems in our community, with this we should
know on how to resolve this kind of problems with the help of the barangay officials, community
staff and its people. As what they said 'Health is Wealth' so we must take an action and volunteer
to resolve this kind of problems in our community. In the last week of our midterm, we conduct a
coastal clean-up drive at Barangay Bawing General Santos City, to ensure and promote a clean
environment.
In our Final, lastly through our discussion and actions have done now symposium is the
last activity in which we discuss the importance of Community Health and the role of
community health and how to promote healthy living lifestyle.
URSABIA, RALPH MICHAEL
We begin discussing the lesson about Health on prelim that correlated around the
community, environment and as individual. Defining health as a state of complete physical,
mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmary. There are
given task and activities to really understand the lesson. Moreover, we tackled the 2 perspectives
of health which are Narrow Perspective and Broad Perspective where in it thought us the concept
on how we identify a healthy person based on social and physical aspect. In line with this,
Wellness are also discussed it composed of 8 Dimensions which are the Intellectual, social,
spiritual, environmental, emotional, financial, occupational, and physical wellness that we are
using or encountering on our daily lives and activities. Health, Wellness and Fitness are the
focused of prelim coverage that will help students to value and identify their status of health.
On the middle of our lesson where in the midterm, we discussed the promotion of health
programs through community and schools from maintaining the cleanliness and promoting
healthy environment inside the community. We discussed as well the Perennial Health
Community that we need to take action since it is currently happening in our community that we
need to resolve. As well the characteristics of a health community that serve as guide for us to
promote and maintain healthy environment.
Last part of the lesson, we are assigned to conduct a symposium in relevance of health in
the community and people living inside the community to advocate and promote a healthy
community for a better lifestyle.
BERNARDO, JOHN STRICH
In Prelim, we discuss the 5 dimension of health and Broad and Narrow perspective of
health. Because of this this we know how to define the diseases and illness through narrow and
broad. This topic is helping us to become more knowledgeable to be able avoid any illness what
we can’t get, many people experience the aspect of health such as physical, social, emotional,
mental, and spiritual.
In Midterm we discussed the human dimension and wellness, the 7 perennial health
community problems in our community that we sometimes encounter the crises of any
situational. This kind of problem that we faced is clearly evident to all community because of the
human ignorance and having not responsible action that can cause crisis in the community such
as drainage system, the human excreta, waste disposal. this reflect through our action without
realizing the outcome of the actions and by lf that we learn on how to sanitize on our home and
we learn about health on how we can avoid any sickness, and by discussing a lot we learn so
much that we can share to our neighborhood.
In our final, our discussion is all about the importance of the community health and role
of the community health and how can we promote the healthy lifestyle or healthy living so that
the community itself is healthy and the environment is working so well that we can't get sickness
or avoid any contaminated disease.
LEGASPI, KEANA MARIE
This CPC8 Personal, Community and Environmental Health course has taught me a lot
and made me realized, especially in terms of how my involvement as a citizen in a community
affects the growth of the community. Additionally, we are completely aware of what health
genuinely entails. Our prelim discussion of what health involves and its two viewpoints
tremendously increased our knowledge of the subject and helped us understand how it affects us
in our daily lives. In order to achieve wellness, which is necessary to become productive and lead
to opulent lives that we won't regret living, this subject has grown into a way of explaining the
ideal concept of health in terms of a person's many dimensions.
We studied the community and what makes it healthy for our midterm and finals.
Additionally, it gave us the chance to actively take part in a work that helped to shape who we
are as a social group and as individuals. In Barangay Bawing, our CN 5411 and the other CN of
Sir Jimmy Solequiz organized a coastal cleanup effort. This project attempts to inspire everyone
to live healthy lives on a physical, social, and psychological level by showing them that whatever
they do will benefit their society and ultimately benefit them. We also list the seven ongoing
problems that have an impact on community health, and we are required to examine them in-
depth in order to decide the best course of action.
I truly value being able to tackle the lessons with intelligence and care as a student
majoring in physical education. While taking Personal, Community, and Environmental Health, I
experienced a variety of emotions, including eagerness for the upcoming lessons. Nevertheless, I
realize that I am interested in this topic since I have reflected on its main goal.
