HR questions
Challenges faced in the project: had to analyze reports, files and documents to get relevant information and put in an orderly fashion. Different project, not undertaken previously by anyone as it introduced a new concept of project tracking so developed and followed my own path Learned and implemented project management knowledge myself for this assignment in the internship period Benefits gained by me: insights into industry and business process Hands on knowledge and understanding of project business Learning of project development and value creation with a customer focus Benefits to the company: establishment of a project tracking mechanism, which will be hugely beneficial in monitoring and effective control of projects under execution. A prototype was delivered, as well as the exact tracker for projects undertaken by me which are currently under use Mid-way analysis and review of critical projects and identifying potential risks which could affect or delay them; subsequent recommendation of mitigation strategies. Learnings applied for this project: project management, critical path analysis, Suggestions for the company/program: providing a pre-reading material so as to facilitate better understanding and preparation before starting the program so that interns fall in line easily with the company structure Closer and deeper cross-functional exposure so as to facilitate a wholesome understanding and experience of being a part of the country s power-leader Experience at Cummins: my experience at Cummins was one filled with a lot of learning and opened new vistas before me. Since I have never worked before in a corporate environment, it was a great first experience of work life. Not only did it

enrich me professionally and intellectually, but also I enjoyed my 2 months here. Bonded very well with people in my department, got into a corporate working mode and finally ended with a successful project. I got a lot of exposure, there was freedom for me in what and how I wanted to do. I got so much help and support cooperation from everyone, and felt like a part of the company. Involvement commitment dedication Tell me about yourself: I hail from Ghaziabad, U.P. I have done my schooling from Ghaziabad only, and did engineering from delhi bharati vidya peeth college of engg. In EEE branch. My father is an industrialist, into paper manufacturing business, and mother is a proud home-maker. Two younger brothers both doing engg. I am and have always been a dedicated student who gives 100% to her work and duties and don t rest till the desired result is achieved. I say student because I have a passion to learn and like to soak up as much knowledge as I can. My hobbies include reading, travelling and doing puzzles like sudoku etc Short term goals and long term goals: now that I have finished my post graduation, I want to implement my learnings in the real business environment. I want to work in the corporate world, as a part of a growing enterprise (hopefully cummins) and move with it on the path of progress. As for probably in a longer period of time, I would say that I wish to be at a position of command, where I can shape the way forward with my own decisions for the organisation as well as my own self. Also I hope to be in a position where I can contribute my bit to the society on a personal level and feel satisfied at the end of the day. Why Cummins: I will give two reasons for why I want to be a part of Cummins. First is that Cummins provides a mix of business with technology, which is exactly what I found interesting. Considering my engineering background as well, I like the work of understanding your engines and power generators and giving power solutions to customers, not selling but partnering for problem solving. Secondly, after I have worked here for two months, I just feel very comfortable and satisfied with the culture, the working environment and the kind of work itself and believe that there can be no organization better to start my career with.

Why should we take you: because I am a good fit in the company, my knowledge combined with the drive to learn, enthusiasm to act and commitment to getting best results out of every Endeavour. I am hard-working, intelligent and passionate individual who will be an asset for the company. I have been through and completely relate to the Cummins personality and like and fit in with the culture here. Also I believe that I proved my capabilities during my internship and was complimented by the HODs of mktg and HR in my unit.
