1. PRODUCT INFORMATION
HPC Sigma Fluid is intended to be used only as a coolant for rotary screw type air
compressors operating under varied conditions.

2. COMPOSITION
Comprises a blend of highly refined mineral oils (IP346 DMSO extract <3%) with anti-oxidant
and corrosion inhibiting characteristics. Benzenepropanoic Acid, 3, 5-bis(1, 1-dimethyl-ethyl)
- 4 – hydroxyl -, C7 – C9 branched alkyl esters

3. HAZARDS
This product is not classified as hazardous under current UK Health/Safety/Environmental
Legislation, when used in the application for which it is intended.
Adverse health effects: Repeated contact with the skin may result in skin
irritation.
Other hazards: The product can burn when strongly heated.
Hazardous decomposition products may be formed.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Inhalation: Remove from exposure. Seek medical help.
Skin contact: Wash from skin using soap and water.
Eye contact: Rinse with plenty of water for at least 10 minutes
and seek medical attention if symptoms persist.
Ingestion: Seek medical attention. DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Product not classified as flammable, but is inherently combustible.
Extinguishing media: Use carbon dioxide, foam or water spray. prevent
water used in spray from entering watercourses.
Not to be used: Direct water jet
Special fire fighting procedures: In the event of a large fire self-contained breathing
apparatus should be worn.
WARNING Heat from a fire could possibly result in drums
bursting.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Contain and collect spillage. Failure to contain the release should be notified to the local
waste authority. A spillage must be retrieved, if necessary with the help of absorbent material
such as floor granules. Burn under controlled conditions or dispose of at an appropriate
waste disposal facility in accordance with current applicable laws and regulations.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Handling: This product is normally handled cold, precautions should be
taken against skin contact.
Storage: Product is supplied in metal containers. Store away from
sources of strong heat and strong oxidising chemicals.
Forbidden equipment: Some types of natural rubber will swell and deteriorate in
contact with this product. The use of rubber equipment
should generally be avoided.

Use engineering control methods to prevent or minimise aerosol and vapour generation.

12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
On the basis of operating experience, it is considered unlikely to penetrate deeply into soil,
which, together with low solubility in water, makes a contamination of the sub-soil unlikely.
Mineral oils are inherently but not readily biodegradable. Fresh or used mineral oils may be
harmful to aquatic life.

13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATION
Send to a Registered Waste Disposal Site using the services of a Registered Waste Disposal
Contractor. Ensure conformance with local and national regulations.
Labels should not be removed from containers until they have been cleaned. Empty
containers may contain hazardous residues. Ensure conformance with local and national
regulations.
Under no circumstances should this product be disposed of by putting into drains, soil or
water courses.
As supplpied material should be considered as Special Waste and Disposal should confirm
with the relevant Regulations.
