A pleasant day to each and every one, this is Abet Kairan Taji, an aspiring civil engineer.

This is my video
interview, in compliance to the requirements for enrollment and admission to the Western Mindanao
State University. (Cut) For the first question,

[Link] your personal circumstances such as your (name, residence, age, SHS, etc.)

- Once again, I am Abet Taji, 18 years old, a fresh Senior High graduate of Pilar College of Zamboanga
City Inc. I also graduated Junior High from the same school. I currently reside in Villa Sta. Maria,
Zamboanga City, under the roof of my parents.

For the second question, 2. Why do you want to pursue civil Engineering?

- Personally, I wanted to pursue civil engineering because the concept of infrastructures fascinated me –
how it was built and its overall design, and the sight of skyscrapers piqued my interest. In fact, my two
initial course choices were architecture and civil engineering, which both had similar nature but still had
contrasting identity. In the end, I chose to pursue the latter, civil engineering, because I lacked skills
necessary in taking architecture and I believe my knowledge and prowess in mathematics would prove
useful for myself in taking this course.

[Link] do you intend to handle and cope up with the lessons, requirements, and projects given to you
considering the new normal?

- Considering the new normal that we still face, I plan to devise a plan that would help me conquer the
weekly tasks that would be given to us. First, I plan to create a weekly schedule according to the
different tasks given to us on that certain period. Second and last plan, I plan to execute each tasks as
soon as possible in order to lessen the likelihood of cramming. Since this is our second year in doing
online classes, I now have an insight on how to take things and tasks, with much more ease, compared
to last years’ experience.

[Link] steps will you undertake granting you will fail in any of the engineering subjects?

- Granted I fail any of the engineering subjects of civil engineering, I plan to take them as soon as
possible as one of my summer classes or by asking the designated professor of the subject. I plan to
execute the devised plan as soon as possible in order to lessen the likelihood of the failed subject of
getting in the way when taking other set of subjects for a different semester. However, in my time of
taking civil engineering, I will try my best to not fail any subjects nor gain low grades from subjects that
will be given to me, may it be one of the major engineering subjects or minor ones.
