GARSUTA BSED-MAJOR IN ENGLISH


NSTP 1 CODE: 0005

In lesson 3 about values development, I was able to grasp the information regarding how values
shape us as human beings from each of our cultures, wherein we inherit and develop the values
practiced in a society and community. Our values are also the determinants of how a particular
community works based on their values. Each of us individuals is unique not just in how our
physical aspect but also in our spiritual part. In good citizenship, 4 values are being practiced
which is; pagkamaka-diyos, pagkamakatao, pagkamaka-bayan, and pagkama-kalikasan.

Pagkamaka-diyos is the value of being spiritually inclined by having a solid faith in God and
doing good deeds for others. It is deemed that only good people will have a stronger
relationship with God. Pagkamakatao is the value of being true to one another, giving love at all
times by sharing what you have with others. Pagkamaka-bayan is the value of patriotism, being
united at all times, helping one another in dire times, and allowing equality to exist within our
nation's borders. Pagkamaka-bayan is also the value that practices the act of being a law-
abiding citizen. Being a law-abiding citizen allows you to become part of a society that enables a
crime-free state, giving way for a peaceful life in the community. Lastly, Pagkama-kalikasan is
the value of giving importance to the environment. It is the deed of raising awareness about
global warming and attending to environmental activities such as planting trees to reduce and
revert the detrimental effects of global warming. Having the value to love the environment will
give way to our community to mitigate environmental-related crises such as landslides and
flooding that may cause casualties to the people in our community.

Overall, all of these values play a crucial role in reaching a particular goal for the community to
grow peacefully and remarkably and giving way for forthcoming generations to experience a
secure and caring society.
