Rules & Regulations

DEPARTMENT: EC/IC/Electrical

NAME OF EVENT: CircuitX

NO. OF MAX. PARTICIPANTS: 150

EVENT DESCRIPTION:

_______________________________________________________________________________

Students of EC / Electrical / IC engineering can participate. The aim is to check the

basic fundamental knowledge of the participants and at the same time provide them
the opportunity to check their circuitry skills. There will be a variety of technical
activities including MCQ test, circuit implementation and circuit designing.

Fundament knowledge will be tested in first round by technical MCQ type questions
related to subjects like basic electronics, analog circuits and design, Digital
electronics, and circuit analysis and networks.

In second round each group will be given a circuit diagram and required components.
Participants have to implement it and obtain the stage wise required output in given
specified time limit.

In round 3, participants are required to think and design circuit to get desired output
for a given problem statement. To get output they have to use components provided to
them.

TEAM SPECIFICATION:

50 teams, Minimum 02 and Maximum 03 participants per team

REQUIREMENTS:

Participant must have knowledge of subjects like basic electronics, analog circuits
and design, Digital electronics, and circuit analysis and networks.

Circuit components will be provided by host institute.

GENERAL RULES:

● Students must have their current college identity card with them, at the time
of reporting.
● Books and external materials/Mobile Phones/Internet/smart watches are not
allowed in the competition hall.
● If a team practices unfair means, it will be eliminated immediately.
● If any participant/group of participants who are not ready/available at the
event commencement time, they will be disqualified from the event.
● All the information pertaining to the task of the event will be provided at the
beginning of the event.
● In case of any discrepancy, decisions of the Jury/ Committee members shall be
treated as final and binding to all.
● Host institute reserves rights related to modification and updating the rules for
successful completion of the event.

LEVEL DESCRIPTION:

• Round1:(Day 1, 50 Minutes, 50 teams)

Paper Based Test

[Link] will be a preliminary test consisting of MCQ type questions focusing on concepts
of basic electronics, analog circuits and design, Digital electronics, and circuit analysis
and networks.
2. The test is to be attempted individually by each participant of the team, the
average score of the team will be considered for eligibility in round 2.
• Round2:(Day1, 90 Minutes, 20 Teams)

Circuit making
[Link] round will focus on the circuit implementation abilities of the participants.
[Link] teams will be provided with circuit diagram and components. They have to
implement a physical circuit and generate the required output.
[Link] will be stage wise Evaluation for given circuit diagram.
4. Further Students will be asked to do some modifications in the given problem
and show output.

Round3: (Day2, 120 Minutes, 10 Teams)

Innovation
[Link] round will test the thinking capability of the participants.
[Link] will be provided with problem statement and set of components. Using
provided components, they have to design circuit and obtain specified output.

JUDGING CRITERIA:

Round1:

[Link] will be 50 questions, each carrying 2 marks. For incorrect answer(s) 1

mark will be deducted. No deduction for unattempted question(s).
2. From round 1, 20 teams will be selected to feature in round 2 based on the marks
scored

Round2:
1. In round 2, evaluation will be based on the accuracy of the completed task. 50%
weighted for correct circuit implementation and 50% weighted for accuracy of desired
output.
2. Summation of marks obtained in both the rounds will also be considered for
the up gradation. 10 teams will be selected for round 3.

Round3:
Top 3 Teams will be selected by judges.
JUDGES:
