1.8. Linkage to Career Goals
Please fill the details
This course teaches the students advanced skills in the commonly used Microsoft EXCEL. The
course acts as feeder course to advanced courses (level-1 and 2 courses) running at JAGSOM
and which will help students to be industry ready. Through this course students will develop the
ability to create customized data Models by handling different data sets thus creating
spreadsheet Models. Being a practice-oriented course, hands-on exercises form a larger part of
the course.
Applicable for all career streams.

Grade Up:
Timeline for Grade Up: The Grade Up course has to be completed by the end of the next
Academic term in which student is studying the JAGSOM course. For example, if student is
studying PBT in Term-2, they have to complete the PBT-related certification by the end of
Term-3 in order to be eligible for the grade upgrade.

List of Application Exercises:

Number the Exercise Application Exercise- Questions and Details
1 Module 1 Create a Creating a Model for Gate entry / exit.
Data Retrieval customized Every entry and exit in a business are noted in a logbook, be it a
Logbook student leaving or entering a Hostel, be it a product being entered
into the inventory and sold out, be it a vehicle that enters a service
station and exits after the service. Creating a Template to track
these job requirements would reduce a significant workload when
reports are required at the end of the day.
2 Module 2 Creating a Assignment Tracker
Processing of customized Assignments are given to different groups of Students in a course.
Different course activity Each group needs to submit multiple submissions for continuous
datatypes: tracker assessments. An assignment tracker would track the multiple
Date and text project work and generate the list of groups who have submitted
data and who need to submit.
3 Module 2 Creating Customized display of Timetable (Using developer Tools)
Processing of Customized Customized and user-friendly Visualization is a must for
Different Display presentation. Every school has a different timetable that caters to
datatypes: many diverse student bodies. An excel model that displays dynamic
Date and text view for different sections of students would be an added
data advantage.
4 Module 3 Creating a Data A Gas Agency data Model
Power Pivot Model for a Gas A gas agency caters to different regions of a city. Customers are of
and Data Agency different types namely subsidized, Private business Caterers,
Model Industrial users etc. to name a few. Agency has many delivery
employees who have designated regions. A data model is to be
generated based on a Database of customers, delivery boys,
regions.
