Engineering Work Procedure for Kakap Project
Engineering Work Procedure for Kakap Project
The key steps in planning and scheduling include evaluating and analyzing client inquiries, reviewing and verifying drawings, estimating costs, and monitoring work progress. This process is supported by the use of project scheduling software like Microsoft Project, which helps in effectively planning and managing timelines .
When client requirements necessitate drawing revisions, engineers forward the changes to the drafter to redraw them in AutoCAD. Once a draft is revised, it is resubmitted stamped as "For Approval." If there are discussions required to address any non-conformances, engineers engage with clients on these matters .
The Project Manager/Coordinator is responsible for evaluating and analyzing the client's inquiry as listed in the Request Client inquiry, reviewing and verifying drawings, approving the drawings, reviewing the estimated costs, monitoring the work progress, and providing monthly reports to the General Manager on the project's performance .
AutoCAD is used for preparing drawings from the engineering design and field sketches, allowing for precise and editable design plans. SAP software supports structure analysis, which is crucial for ensuring the structural integrity and safety of engineering designs. Together, they facilitate meticulous planning and modeling necessary for robust engineering projects .
PT. Shaftindo Energi ensures compliance by developing detailed engineering of construction, fabrication, and installation that aligns with the necessary concept and all pertinent details to support the project. They issue key documents to the company, address and incorporate company comments, and reissue documents as necessary for approval .
PT. Shaftindo Energi uses several software programs: Microsoft Office for general documentation, AutoCAD for design and drawing, CAESAR II for stress analysis, Auto Pipe for piping data, SAP for structure analysis, Microsoft Project for project scheduling, Microsoft Conversion for piping data conversion, and Engineering Power Tools for various engineering calculations .
Integration and collaboration are achieved through joint engineering-client surveys, on-site collaboration, and regular communication to address any design non-conformances. The team prepares proper documentation and maintains ongoing engagement with clients to ensure their requirements and comments are addressed and incorporated into project revisions .
Site surveys are essential to verify design drawings from the client, ensuring they are accurate and reflective of real conditions. This verification process helps in preparing construction drawings that account for on-site realities, ensuring the engineering plans can be implemented successfully with minimal errors .
Detailed documentation ensures that all aspects of engineering, fabrication, and installation align with the project requirements, facilitating compliance and effective communication with clients. This is achieved by preparing proper documentation related to the jobs, joint site surveys, verification design drawing from clients, and maintaining records as a document controller .
The process begins with engineers preparing a sketch on isometric drawing, which is reviewed by the client engineer. If revisions are needed, they are made and the drawing is resubmitted as "For Review." Upon addressing any client comments, a Bill of Quantity is submitted. Engineers perform follow-ups through meetings, revise the drawing to meet client requirements, and finally resubmit it stamped "For Approval" .
