A Basics Guide

Foreword
This guide is written with the intent of covering basic information about Evan, with sample builds for the
various content he is used in. While this guide mentions his uses in PvP, it is intended for Evan’s use in
PvE. It should be noted that for optimization, it would be better to consult other sources of information.

Character Overview

Name: Evan
Class: Priest
Damage Type: Physical
Position: Middle
Description: Evan is a defensive priest who excels in protecting his team from physical damage. He
boasts one of the most powerful teamwide shields in the game. His unique shield can be perked to
become undispellable at the cost of halving its durability.
Despite being known mostly for defensive potential, Evan’s offensive buffs are decently strong,
and covers a wide range of stats, giving his team a solid boost in power. Evan is excellent in content
where enemies deal hard-hitting physical damage and is one of the best options for both Shakmeh Raids,
Dark Legion Raids, and the Siegfried Technomagic Raid.
Statistics
Content where Evan Content where the enemies hit relatively hard, or have some form of dispel,
excels and content where enemies deal primarily/entirely physical damage.

Content where Evan Primarily scoring content, because while his offensive buffs are solid, other
is lacking units provide a bit more boost (Fallen Frey).

Perks
Tier 1
Attack Up
Relevance: Very High
In-game text: ATK is increased by 30%
Description: This perk is core for Evan due to his shield scaling off ATK, especially
in content where his S3L is taken to increase the strength of his shield as much as
possible.

Hp Up
Relevance: High
In-game text: HP is increased by 30%
Description: This boosts Evan’s survivability, especially in content where enemies
ignore defense.

Def Up
Relevance: High
In-game text: DEF is increased by 35%
Description: This is another survivability boost for Evan, and it helps mitigate the
damage taken by your shields (unlike HP perk).

Crit Resist Up
Relevance: Low
In-game text: Crit Resistance is increased by 250
Description: Crit Resist Up is mainly a PvP perk and isn’t used in PvE content.

Monster Hunting
Relevance: Medium
In-game text: Increases DMG to Non-Hero enemies by 10% and takes 10%
reduced DMG.
Description: This is an alternative to the HP Up and Def Up perks, although slightly
less in priority because Evan himself buffs toughness.
Tier 2
Vengeful Curse
Relevance: Low
In-game text: When hit by an enemy, attacker's DMG is reduced by 70% for 3 sec.
This effect only activates once in 40 sec, and cannot be dispelled.
Description: Vengeful Curse is a PvP Priest perk, with little to no practical usage in
PvE.

Goddess Blessing
Relevance: Mid
In-game text: Increases Crit Chance of all allies by 150. If the ally uses the same
Perk, only 50 additional Crit Chance applies.
Description: This is an important perk to take to reach the crit cap on your main
dealer. Take this perk accordingly depending on the dealer’s crit rate and other
priests running this perk.

Inner Peace
Relevance: Low
In-game text: Heal all allies by 1% every sec and increases CC Resist by 75. If the
ally uses the same Perk, only 0.3% additional healing per sec and 25 additional CC
Resist apply.
Description: Inner Peace provides a minimal healing boost and slight CC resist
increase, which make this a lower priority than other T2 perks. However, it may be
taken in certain situations where Evan’s healing needs every bit of consistency as
possible, and in situations where you would want to give him 500 CC resist
(Otherwordly Shakmeh).

Blessing of Mana
Relevance: Medium-High
In-game text: Mana recovery per second rises by 250%.
Description: Evan’s mana costs are relatively high and, because he likes casting
skills whenever he can, this helps ensure he can cast skills right after their
cooldown. Higher levels on Evan’s UW may decrease the priority of this perk, but it
is still a solid option.

Swiftness
Relevance: Medium
In-game text: Increases ATK Spd of all allies by 150. If the ally uses the same Perk,
only 50 additional ATK Spd applies.
Description: Like Goddess Blessing, it is recommended to have at least one priest
running this perk. In Evan’s case, however, his T5D provides a more substantial ATK
Spd boost if he is able to stack it fully.
Tier 3
(S1L)
Relevance: Low - Medium
In-game text: [Purification of Life] Reduces Cooldown of the skill by 5 sec.
Description: This is useful in situations where Evan ends up being your only healer
or when there is a significant lack of healing in your party. It is generally less used
than S1D for most content, however.

(S1D)
Relevance: High (P. Team) OR None ([Link])
In-game text: [Uproar of Naav Gehen] Changed the duration of the [Link] Boost
effect to 20 sec.
Description: S1D allows Evan to maintain a near 100% uptime on the [Link] boost
(unless Evan is CCed for extended periods of time or cycles through his skills
extremely unluckily). It is generally taken to ensure consistency in content, especially
if he’s in the auto team of 8 or the content is TM raids/ Shakmeh.

(S2L)
Relevance: Low - Medium
In-game text: [Magic Circle of Life] Increases CC Resist by 500 for the duration of
the magic circle.
Description: S2L is situationally useful in Big Shakmeh, allowing the team to
survive Shakmeh’s Radiance Storm. An alternative to this perk is S3L; however, this
requires high investment on Evan.

(S2D)
Relevance: Low
In-game text: [Naav Gehen of Gluttony] Reduces Mana Cost by 1.
Description: Once Evan starts casting skills, he rarely has mana problems, making
mana cost reduction unnecessary. S2D has situational uses in PvP but generally has
little to no practical use in PvE.

(S3L)
Relevance: None (non-dispel content) OR High (dispel content)
In-game text: [Origin of Life] The shield becomes irremovable, but reduces the
shield to 50%.
Description: Evan’s defining characteristic among other shield buffers is his
undispellable S3 shield. This perk is important in content where there are various
dispels, most notably Big Shakmeh. The tradeoff is rather steep and requires a high
invested Evan to make full use of this perk, however.
(S3D)
Relevance: None (No mana drain content) OR High (mana-drain content)
In-game text: [Rampage of Naav Gehen] Each hit reduces the target's Mana by
300.
Description: S3D is taken in content where mana reduction is necessary, such as
Siegfried raids and both Shakmeh Raids. However, it can be skipped in favor of S3L
or another perk if mana reduction is sufficient.

(S4L)
Relevance: Medium - High
In-game text: Changes [Link] Reduction to 25%.
Description: S4L boosts survivability significantly in content with multiple stages
such as Small Shakmeh, DL raids, and Eclipse. It can be coupled with UT4 for 40
seconds of 25% [Link].

(S4D)
Relevance: Low
In-game text: At the beginning of the first battle, Evan starts as 'Alchemist of the
Dark Evan' and gains immunity to CC for 5 sec.
Description: S4D is mainly used as a PvP perk to access his Dark skills at the start
of a match, with Evan’s other perks being immensely more useful in PvE.

Tier 5
(T5L) - [Light]
Relevance: Low - Medium
In-game text: ATK, DEF, HP +15% / HP +10%
Description: This is a solid boost in Evan’s survivability and is a decent choice if
you have extra TP or if Evan struggles to survive. Because Evan has several other
useful perks, however, it is generally passed over in PvE.

(T5D) - [Dark]
Relevance: Very High
In-game text: Whenever Evan changes his alchemist form, increases ATK of all
allies by 1% and ATK Spd by 10. This effect can be stacked up to max 30 times
and is irremovable.
Description: Significant attack boost during longer fights, and is generally favored
as a general perk for content that lasts a significant amount of time, such as Small
Shakmeh and DL raids.
Relevant Builds
General PvE (Dragons, Dark
Legion, etc.)

Notes:
T2 Crit can be used interchangeably with
T2 Atk Spd depending on the rest of the
team, and how much Crit your main dealer
has.

T2 Blessing of Mana can be dropped if

Evan’s UW is relatively high, and his only
issue with mana would be the initial few
seconds of a battle when he hasn’t cast a
skill yet.

If the content has several stages of purely

[Link] enemies, S4L can be taken
instead.

80 TP pages can drop T5L.

Devourer Shakmeh

Notes:
T2 Crit can be used interchangeably with
T2 Atk Spd depending on the rest of the
team, and how much Crit your main dealer
has.

S3D can be dropped if your team has

other reliable mana drain, and S4L can be
taken instead to increase team tankiness
at the start of the battle.

80 TP pages may drop one of the T2

perks if survival/mana drain is an issue.
Otherwise, drop S4L/S3D.
Siegfried Raid

Notes:
If your team is well-invested and can
survive relatively fine, you can swap Inner
Peace with Blessing of Mana, and S1L
with S1D.

80 TP pages may drop T5L if Evan has no

problems surviving, or T5D if Evan dies
too quickly.

Otherworldly Darkness
Shakmeh

Notes:
This page is taken when Evan’s shield is
too weak to survive Shakmeh’s Radiance
Storm and breaks halfway. In this build,
Evan usually has 500 CC Resist as well.

Alternatively, you can drop T5L/Goddess’

Blessing for S3D for better mana drain.

If Evan’s shield lasts for most of the

duration of the Radiance storm, and you
have no problems with mana control, then
you may swap S2L for S3L.
PvP Evan

Notes:
Requires a very invested Evan + high
starred UT3, otherwise the shield breaks
too quickly. .
Unique Treasures
(UT1) Rough Edged Rune Stone
Relevance: Low-Medium
In-game text: [Purification of Life] Increases Heal Rate by 50% and reduces [Link]
healed allies take by 10% for 15 sec.
[Uproar of Naav Gehen] Increases DMG by 50% and reduces enemy's Heal Rate by
10% for 15 sec.
Description: UT1 is situationally used in Siegfried raids to grant allies extra
toughness, but generally not recommended on Evan.

(UT2) Evan's All-Purpose Bag

Relevance: Medium OR High ([Link])
In-game text: [Magic Circle of Life] Reduces Mana Cost by 1 and increases ATK of
allies within the range of the magic circle by 12%.
[Naav Gehen of Gluttony] Reduces Cooldown by 7 sec and reduces ATK Spd of
enemies within the range of the magic circle by 120.
Description: Ut2 is mainly used in magic teams for content such as small or large
Shakmeh. It provides a significant boost to physical teams as well.

(UT3) Navigating Dowsing Pendulum

Relevance: Medium-High
In-game text: [Origin of Life] Upon use, dispels negative effects from self and
increases shield by 20%.
[Rampage of Naav Gehen] While using the Skill, Evan gains immunity to CC, and
the last hit reduces enemy's All Block Chance by 200 for 10 sec.
Description: UT3 is Evan’s signature UT in PvP and in content where his shield
strength is of chief importance. Because of how this boost is applied however, it
does NOT cancel out the demerit of Evan’s S3L, but still remains an effective tool in
boosting his shield strength.

(UT4) Naav's First Flask

Relevance: High ([Link])
In-game text: [Alchemy of Green] Changes the duration of the [Link] Reduction
effect to 40 sec, and whenever Evan uses a Skill, increases [Link] all enemies take
by 10% for 7 sec.
Description: Ut4 is mainly used in PvE physical teams for it’s [Link] amp. Though
the amount is modest, it’s still one of the few offensive buffs Evan can provide for his
team.
Gear Lines and Runes
Below are some options that gear lines may be and how important they are to Evan. These are not
ordered in any meaningful way as conditions between what’s optimal change wildly. If you’d like to make
an optimal build, I’d suggest looking for an Evan expert or an expert on game mechanics and learning
what constitutes one. However, as a starting base, sticking to high relevance lines will serve you well. If a
stat option is not on this list, then take it as a sign that it has minimal relevance

Stat Option Relevance

ATK High: Increases the strength of Evan’s shield, which boosts the survivability of your
team.

HP Medium: Taken for general survivability. However, [Link] or [Link] will help
mitigate the damage his shield takes.

[Link]/[Link] Medium: Taken for general survivability and more preferred over HP, as long as
Evan doesn’t die in a single hit.

Atk Spd Medium: Taking 1-2 lines of Atk Spd can help if other stats aren’t immediately
needed.

[Link]/[Link] Medium: Generally taken for content where Evan’s own [Link] bonus from his kit
[Link] DEF/ isn’t enough to keep him alive.
[Link] DEF

MP/Sec Low-Medium: Usually only stacked in pvp, however a few lines will help him cast
skills with better timing.

Everything Else Situational at best, and generally not sought for as main lines.

Below are the rune slots and the rune(s) that are best in slot in most (if not all) cases.

Rune Slot Rune Stat

Weapon ATK x3 (Alternative: ATK x2 [Link]/[Link]/[Link]/[Link] x1)

Main Armor Velk Rune with ATK (Alternative: HP/[Link]/[Link])

Sub Armor Velk Rune with ATK (Alternative: Crit)
