Activity 1

1. According to socrates,what is your self made of?

-And contrary to the opinion of the masses, one's true self, according to Socrates, is not to be identified
with what we own, with our social status, our reputation, or even with our body. Instead, Socrates
famously maintained that our true self is our soul.

[Link] important is it to examine life?

-It is important to examine life because Examining our life give us an opportunity to relate our journeys
with the aim (s) that we have set for our selves. It gave us chance to see whether there should be course
correction or do we need to keep moving as we are, or do we need reinforceme our thought pattern,
our action or our emotion?

3. According to plato , the body is just a shell , a prison house of the soul . As a consequence of this
thought , to which you should give more attention?

-The soul-body problem goes back to Plato; he distinguishes the soul (ψυχή) from the body and argues
that one's soul is what uses and rules over the body. The 'active property' of the soul makes it 'more
valuable' than the body.

4. Based on aristotle's thought about the self , what self-development should education system aim at ?
Describe .

-He thought the purpose of schooling was to develop dispositions and habits that exercise reason and
forming a human's ethos.

5. Do you agree with saint augustine and saint thomas aquinas teaching that the self find perfect
happiness only in god? Share your personal experience.

-Yes, because following what's God wants us to do give us fully happiness. Only god can help us solve
our problem by praying and asking for his help. People without carrying any problem can live happily
and peacefully in life.
