WHAT I HAVE LEARNED
1. Based on what you have learned from the previous activities, define speech context in your own
word.
Speech context for me refers to the situation or environment and the circumstances in which the
communication occurs. There are also four types of speech context which are intrapersonal,
interpersonal, public and mass.
2. As a senior high school student, what do you think is the advantage of having a good
communication skills in a variety of context? Do you think it will help you improve your personality?
Why or Why not?
For me, the advantage of having a good communication skills can improve your relationship with your
family members and friends.
3. Do you agree with this statement: Speech context can influence one’s behavior? Why/Why not?
Yes, I agree with this statement because the way you talk to a person can show what behavior you
possess and what impression you have towards that person.
4. Which type of speech contexts do you find easy to practice? Which ones do you find difficult?
Intrapersonal speech for me is the easiest because it only focuses on one person which is yourself while
public speech is the most difficult for me because I don’t really like speaking in front of too many
people.
5. What should you do to improve your skills?
First, I will read a lot of books that can help me with my pronunciation and then, I will practice
speaking in front of a large audience.
