Chitkara Institute of Engineering and Technology has been established by Chitkara Educational Trust, which has carved a distinct niche in the student community for enduring commitment and providing a rich learning environment. The campus is located in 50 acres of land on Chandigarh Patiala Highway and has state of art infrastructure for effective technical education, research and development. The Institute offers Engineering programs in branches of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The Post Graduate programs that are being offered are Masters of Computer Applications (MCA) and Masters of Business Administration (MBA). Faculty at CIET has been drawn from IITs and other leading Engineering colleges of India who bring with them years of teaching and industrial experience. They provide a mix of competence in both theoretical aspects of engineering and applied working knowledge in practicals. Guest lectures by eminent scientists/engineers are held frequently. World-class quality procedures are followed in compliance with the ISO 9001-2000 quality management system. CIET students have access to the most sophisticated learning facilities in the well-equipped labs, technical e-resources and Delnet library facility. Wi fi campus with 2MB Internet connection along with numerous computer workstations plays an important role in the learning experience. The computer center is also equipped with two X 4100 Sun Servers, which can handle 250 clients. At CIET, students are provided frequent interactions with world-class entrepreneurs, savvy technocrats and innovators. A variety of special projects, programs and internships on the campus, give a chance to the students to learn from high tech start ups as well as established entrepreneurs and corporate pacesetters, who have transformed their business through new technologies and process reengineering. With these initiatives, the students do get a chance to learn about themselves, identify their strengths and weaknesses and decide the kind of career they want to pursue. In addition to excellent academic inputs as outlined above, our students are encouraged to receive knowledge of foreign languages under the aegis of Inlingua International School of Languages and improve their communication skills through Business English Certificate from Cambridge University under the aegis of the British Council. They can also avail the facility of Student Exchange Programme under the aegis of AIESEC. Further, for their overall development, students are encouraged to take active part in sports, cultural and extra- curricular activities.
