MUSIC INSTRUMENTS CLASSIFICATION

Membranophones
Membranophones are instruments that make
sound from the vibrations of stretched skins or
membranes. Drums and tambourines are
common examples of membranophones.

- Chordophones
Chordophones are a class of musical
instruments (such as a guitar or piano) whose
sound is generated by plucking, bowing, or
striking stretched strings

- Idiophones
Sound is produced by striking the vibrating
object with a mallet, hammer, stick or other
non-vibrating object. Slit drums, Rattles,
Shakers, Scrapers, Clappers, Bells, Gongs are
examples of idiophones.

- Aerophones
Aerophones are any of a class of musical
instrumentsnin which sound is generated by air
as the primary vibrating medium. Trumpet,
cornet, horn, trombone and the tuba are
examples
