LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION

It is with great pleasure that I write this recommendation on behalf of XXX. I have known Satish
for over four years, primarily as Professor and Head of ECE Dept. at RNS Institute of
Technology. I have closely mentored him throughout his undergraduate studies and so can
appraise both his technical and managerial abilities.

Academically, he was the highest ranked student to enroll to our department [2009-13]. I have
tutored him the subjects: Multimedia communication and Image Processing, in his final year. He
topped my course and 10 other courses during his UG studies. Satish maintained an excellent
academic record and ranked 2 out of 155 students in the department. He secured university ranks
of 5 and 9 in his 4th and 8th semesters respectively among nearly 220 schools affiliated to the
university, which is indeed a laudable achievement.

During his junior year, he was recruited to the Command & Data Handling sub-system of a nano-
satellite project- STUDSAT-2 -as a summer intern, where he worked on proving Inter-satellite
communication. This is where he found his flair for Computer Engineering. Later, he took up
advanced projects spanning the end-to-end ASIC design flow. For his final year thesis, he
designed, verified and synthesized a co-processor, extended the physical netlist to GDSII format,
met various die-size, congestion, timing and low power challenges. It was a very well coordinated
team effort under rigid time constraints while he interned at LSI and juggled some core courses.

In addition to his technical capabilities, Satish has demonstrated excellent leadership and
volunteering qualities. The institution nominated him to the Youth Summit-2012, initiated by
Global Shapers, where he underwent a six-month mentorship drill in Consulting & Leadership at
SAP Labs to nurture his technology consulting interests. Alongside, he served the IEEE student
body of RNSIT as Treasurer during 2012-13 and worked with the core committee to initiate many
workshops, technical fests and JAM sessions.

Satish is a rare find. He is well-trained, ambitious, and detail-oriented. His enthusiasm reflects in
his work and his team. I strongly recommend him for admission to the graduate program at your
university. Please feel free to contact me for any further clarifications.
