You’re going to be writing a short horror story by focusing on at


least ONE gothic story conventions.
Consider: the setting of your story, what type of character you have
and what the plot is. Use this as a way to plan out your story.

In this box, describe your THEME here. Here are some suggestions: Good vs
Evil. Madness. Isolation. Helplessness.
In this box, describe your GOTHIC ELEMENTS here. Here are things to
think about: Will you be using blood or murder? Is there going to be any
insanity or psychological horror? What about anything supernatural? Will
there be any mystery?
In this box, describe your SETTING here. Here are things to think about:
What is your setting? Is it an abandoned cabin in the woods? Is it an
unsuspecting seeming small town? What time of year is it? When in history
is it: the future, past, or present?
In this box, describe your CHARACTER(s) here. Here are things to think
about: Will you have a protagonist(hero) and an antagonist(villain)? Will
you be writing about a hero that is actually villain? Or are you writing
about the villain? What side characters do you have: friends of your main
character or family members?
In this box, describe your PLOT here. Here are things to think about:
What is going to happen? Will it have a solid ending, or will it be a cliff
hanger? What is going to be your beginning, middle and end? Is someone
going insane?
