Workplace conflicts just like organizational changes happen in every organization. All
these conflicts involve people and same goes to organizational changes. Conflicts do
exist where there are human beings. The conflicts among human probably has started
since existence of mankind. Understanding the reasons behind workplace conflicts can
help HR professionals tackle problems before—or after—a conflict turns into a face-off
between departments that refuse to work together.

Managing conflicts is about managing people and confrontations. Managing people is


much more of an art than it is a science. There is no secret formula or set of rules to
follow. OD consultants being hired for conflicts’ management must be good at people
management skills and interpersonal skills. James and his team as OD consultant has
successfully demonstrated the two characteristics people management and interaction
skills.

Communication is an important lubricant in managing workplace conflicts. It plays a


critical role in people management and interaction. Communication even needed in the
organizational changes process.. Employees and department need communication to
determine organization goal, objectives and priorities. This enable employees
