1. Self Help is the Best Help

Once there was a poor weaver named Sam. He was very lazy and always used
to shirk the work. He could not earn much because of it. He always used to
blame his fate for all adversities in his life and the failures that he used to face.
He kept on living like this for years together and did not even try to mend his
ways. One day a saint happened to pass by his cottage. He stopped there to talk
to him. The weaver again repeated the same thing in front of the saint too. The
saint tried to console him and advised him not to blame his fate like that. He
also encouraged him to work harder and try to give up laziness. He explained to
him that God also helps those who help themselves and he wants to get anything
in his life by blaming others. The weaver understood and took each word said
by the saint to his heart. He followed his advice and toiled really hard than ever
before. Soon, he becomes very rich and prosperous. He realized the fact that
“Self-help is the best help.”

2. Nobody Believes a Liar

Once there lived a cowboy in a certain village. He used to tend cows in the field
near a forest. It was not far from his village. The boy was cert/ wicked. To make
fun he often cried out, 'Tiger! Tiger!" The villagers would come running to hero
him. But when they came near, they found- no tiger and the cowboy simply
laughed at them. Alter a few days, the boy again made the same fun. Again the
villagers came him. They found no tiger there. In fact, the boy made fun of
it.  Villagers became very angry and advised the boy not to make that kind of
fun in future. Unfortunately, one day a tiger really came and the being
frightened started shouting ,  'Tiger! Tiger! Help! Help!" a tiger!!! But none
really came to and help the him. The tiger killed a number of his cows and then
killed the cowboy. So we should never make fun by telling lies.

3. Unity is Strength

A farmer had three sons. They always quarreled. This made the farmer
unhappy. He tried to bring them to their senses but failed. At last, he hit upon a
plan. He called all his sons and asked them to bring a bundle of sticks.

Accordingly, they brought a bundle of sticks. Then the farmer asked them to
break it. The three sons tried one after another. But none could break it. Then
their father asked them to untie the bundle and told each of his sons to take one
stick. Each of the boys took one stick. Their father asked them to break the
sticks. Now they broke them easily.
Then the farmer told his sons, “If you live together, nobody can harm you and if
you are separate. anybody will break you like the single broken sticks.”

4. Devotion to Mother
Bayazid was a small boy. His mother was ill. One day he was studying by the
side of the bed of his ailing mother. All on a sudden his mother woke up, raised
her head and told her son to give her a glass of water. The boy Bayazid took the
glass to pour water from the pitcher. But the pitcher was empty. There was not a
single drop of water in the house. Bayazid remembered a stream from where he
could bring water. But it was far from his house and was in one corner of the
village. The night was quite dark. Bayazid took the pitcher and went to fetch
water from the stream. When he returned with water, he found his mother in
deep sleep.

Bayazid thought that if he made his mother awaken, she might feel disturbed.
So, he decided to stand beside his mother's bed with the glass of water. When
she woke up, he would serve her with the water.
The whole night passed. Bayazid's mother opened eyes in the morning and saw
her son standing with a glass of water. Seeing that, her eyes became full of
tears. She took him in her arms with motherly affection and blessed him from
the core of her heart. Her blessings made him a great saint later.

5. The Bear and The Two Friends

Once two friends were walking through the forest. They knew that anything
dangerous can happen to them at any time in the forest. So they promised each
other that they would remain united in any case of danger.

Suddenly, they saw a large bear approaching them. One of the friends at once
climbed a nearby tree. But the other one did not know how to climb. So being
led by his common sense, he lay down on the ground breathless, pretending to
be a dead man.

The bear came near the man lying on the ground. It smelt in his ears, and slowly
left the place. Because the bears do not touch the dead creatures. Now the friend
on the tree came down and asked his friend on the ground, “Friend, what did the
bear tell you into your ears?” The other friend replied, “The bear advised me not
to believe a false friend.”

1. Write a letter to your friend describing a football match.

Dear friend  Rasel,
I hope you are well by the grace of the Almighty. I am well too. Please convey
my regards to your parents. It’s been long since I received your last letter. So I
have thought of writing this letter.
Recently, I got the opportunity to witness a football match between Donbosco
School, Guwahati and Christ Jyoti School, Nagaon at Nurul Amin Stadium in
Nagaon town. Both the teams were equally strong. The referee blew the whistle
at 11 a.m. sharp and the match started. In the first half Donbosco School
dominated. They could easily penetrate the defence of the opposition team but
could score only a goal because of the extraordinary performance of the referee
of Christ Jyoti School. In the second half, Christ Jyoti School played
aggressively. They scored a goal just before the final blow of whistle. Now the
match became drawn and had to be settled with a tie-breaker. In the tie-breaker,
the Donbosco School team took the lead and won the match. The match was
really exciting.

family. Yet man is to forget all pains, all shock, all bereavement. This is the
way of the world. So, you’ll also have to forget and take the responsibility of
your family as you are the eldest son of your parents.

demanded provincial autonomy. They paid no heed to our demand. We won in
majority seats in the general election of 1970 under the leadership of Shaikh
Mujibur Rahman. But the Pakistani rulers did not hand over power. On the
other hand, they made a conspiracy to crush Bangladesh.
Myself: What happened then?  
My Friend: Bangladesh declared independence on 26 March, 1971. Then the
war of our independence began. The war continued for 9 month. We lost many
valuable lives. At last on 16 December, 1971 we liberated our country. Since
then 16 December is our Victory Day and 26 March is our Independence Day.
Myself: What is the importance of the day?
My Friend: This day brings back to our mind the memories of those who laid
down their lives for the cause of our independence.
Myself: How is the day observed?
My Friend: The day is observed in a befitting manner. A national programme
is chalked out. All media highlight the day. Our National flag is hoisted on all
government and non-government buildings. It is a public holiday. Different
organization and political practices observe the day. The days programmes
include seminars, cultural functions, distribution of sweets among the school
children, placing of floral wreaths, procession, rallies, milad, prayers etc.

My Friend:  On this day we remember with respect the great sacrifices of the
martyrs. We take an oath of dedication to the service of the country.

team was so unpredictable that you couldn't be surprised if they could not have

1. My Reading Room: Paragraph (150 Words) for Class 5, 6, 7

The reading room is a room where I spend most of my time reading and
studying. I can’t away from my room. My room is very beautiful and well
decorated. Whoever comes to my house they do lots of praise for this beautiful
room. I always keep my room organized and clean.

There are two-door and two windows. I have a small veranda with my room. I
love spending time on that veranda. There is a small garden exactly opposite of
the veranda. When I need to read any book, I take a chair on the veranda and sit
there. I love reading a book sitting there. My mother helps me a lot to keep my
room organized.
My sister also uses my reading table. She loves spending time in my room,
though she has a different room. But when I need to study hard, there is no
entrance notice outside the door. I love my reading room a lot and I love to
spend time here.

Books are very important in our life. They play a significant role in our daily
life. So the importance of books is great. A book fair is a place where books are
displayed for advertisement and sale. It is becoming popular day by day.
Different organizations arrange book fair on different occasions. Bangla
Academy holds the biggest book fair in its premises on Shahid Day. Different
publishers set up their stalls. All sorts of books such as fiction, dramas,
children's books are displayed here. A book fair reminds us of the necessity of
books in our everyday life. Books change our outlook and widen our
knowledge. They remove the darkness of ignorance in our maid. People are
introduced to new books and new knowledge. It creates new poets and writers
every year. People buy books according to their own choice. Book fair
organizing committee usually arranges a discussion meeting when the fair goes
on. Renowned writers, artists, and scientists assemble there. Thus a book fair
venue becomes an important place in all respects. They allow us to come close
to whit new books. It represents our national culture and tradition by raising
people's awareness. So the government and private sectors should come forward
and encourage them to expand it more and more.
 3. Paragraph on Traffic Jam 1

Traffic jam paragraph: Nowadays, traffic jam is a common affair in the cities

and towns. Traffic jam is one of the major problems of recent times. There are
lots of reasons behind traffic jams. In proportion to the number of vehicles,
roads have not increased in lots of the areas. Almost all the roads are the same.
There are many unlicensed vehicles in our country. These vehicles should be
brought under control. One of the major problems is that the drivers are not
willing to obey the traffic rules. They want to drive at their sweet will. The
overtaking tendency of drivers also causes traffic jams. In proportion to the
population, the number of traffic police is insufficient. At once time traffic jam
is intolerable. Sometimes the length of the jam is so heavy that it blocks half a
ilometre and even more. It kills our most valuable time and so our work is
hampered. It causes great suffering to the ambulance carrying dying patients
and the fire brigade vehicles. However, we can solve this problem by adopting
some effective measures. Well-planned spacious roads should be constructed.
One way movement of vehicles should be introduced. The government should
impose traffic rules strictly so that the drivers are bound to obey the rules.
Sufficient traffic police should be posted on every important point of the city.
Again, all unlicensed vehicles should be removed immediately. After taking all
these measures we can hope to remove traffic jams. Add we can expect a good
traffic system for our easy and comfortable movement.

The name of my Aunt is Tanjinara Akter. She has already crossed forty. She is a
school teacher. She has only a son named Arpon. Arpon is eight years old and
he reads in class three. My aunt keeps a maid to help her with household work
since she remains busy in the school. She spends her leisure in the home. Her
hobby is gardening. She works in the garden when she gets leisure. She is
sociable and she keeps a good relationship with the neighbors. She lives in
Faridpur. My uncle is a college teacher. He is very helpful to my aunt. My aunt
is very affectionate to me and she is really a nice woman.
 5. Paragraph - Country Life and City Life
Since the creation of mankind, man has started living in groups, which finally
formed family or society. But with the development of civilization, man created
cities. So, man is living now both in cities and villages. Cities have flourished
but the importance of country life has not decreased. In this modern competitive
world, needs for city life have increased, as most of the modern facilities are
still confined to the cities. The development of the society depends both on the
development of the cities and villages. If the cities produce something, the
villages supply them with the raw materials. In the cities, life is very busy and
competitive and people live in polluted environment. On the other hand, in the
villages, environment is very fresh and hygienic. Modern facilities are available
in the cities, whereas most of the villages are bereft of modern facilities. Still,
for good medical facilities and higher degrees in education, people are to go the
cities. In the cities, people lead a very artificial life in the big buildings. But in
the villages, one can lead a simple life in the lap of nature. So, country life and
city life have many points of difference.

There are many things in nature for which we should be thankful. One of them
definitely has to be flowers. There are many types of flowers which we see in
our environment. The beautiful fragrances and flowers enhance the beauty of
our planet earth. Through flowers essay, we will look at what these beautiful
things do and how much joy they bring. Flowers carry a lot of importance in our
lives. In India, no worship of God is complete without some kind of flower.
Devotees make a garland of flowers to dedicate it to God. In addition, we also
use flowers for special occasions like weddings. The bride and groom wear
garlands of flowers to signify their marriage. In addition, flowers smell so good
that we use it in different places by planting them in our garden. This way, the
beauty of our place enhances.

Flowers carry importance in each nook and corner of the world. They also come
in use for making medicines. Similarly, we also make difference in fragrance
perfumes from the flowers. Further, the butterflies, birds and bees take the
flowers as food. In many weddings, the bride carries a bouquet of flowers when
she walks down the aisle. Thus, it is very symbolic in that sense. On special
occasions of valentines and anniversary, we gift our partners’ beautiful flowers
as a symbol of our love. Similarly, we send flowers for someone who is sick to
brighten their day. We also send flowers as a token of condolence during
funerals. Thus, we see they have so many uses in so many areas.

7. My Favourite Bird' (100 Words)

My favourite bird is the parrot. The parrot is a very beautiful bird. Its feathers
are green. It has a red beak. Its beak is curved. Round the neck of a parrot there
are black rings. Overall it is a lovely looking bird. It eats grains, fruits, leaves
seeds, pears, nuts, mangoes and boiled rice etc. The Parrot is a talking bird. It
can imitate the human voice. It is found in almost all the warm countries. It
generally lives in the hollows of trees. Some people keep it in a small cage
which is not good. Some people train parrots to do wonderful things.

8. A Railway Station Paragraph

A railway station is a place where trains stop for the passengers to get into and
get down from them. It becomes very busy because of the arrival of trains. Here
passengers are found to stand in a queue to collect their tickets in front of the
ticket counters. A big station is always crowded with passengers, hawkers, and
porters. There are tea stalls, book-sellers and waiting rooms in such stations.
Vendors shout their trade cries. When a train reaches the station, the passengers
hurry to get off from the train. At the same time passengers waiting for the train
want to get into the train. As a result, a huddling situation of two groups of
passengers takes place. When the train leaves the station, it becomes deserted
and buzzing sound of the passengers ends. A railway station is often used as a
den for the anti-social elements. It is a suitable place for the beggars to carry on
their trade. It is an unhygienic place too. But it plays a great role in
communication system of a country. The authorities should look into it.

Global warming is the cumulative rise in average global temperatures on earth

measured over a long period. It has been attributed to the large scale
deforestation by man for different purposes. We consume a lot of fuel annually.
With an increase in the human population, it has become impossible to meet
people’s fuel requirements. Natural resources are limited, and we must use them
judiciously. If we exploit natural resources like forests and water bodies, it will
create an imbalance in the ecosystem. Global warming is not limited to the rise
in temperature. It has other effects too. Many parts of the world are witnessing
natural disasters like hurricanes, floods, and avalanches. All these phenomena
are a direct result of global warming. To prevent our environment from the
harmful effects of global warming, we must restoring our ecosystem. Man has
been exploiting natural resources without giving the environment anything in
return. This needs to be stopped. We must all join forces to make this world a
better place for our future generations who deserve this planet as much as we
do. The basic step that we can follow to increase the overall health of our planet
is planting trees. Afforestation should be our primary goal. The earth can
become a better place if we pledge to plant as many trees as we can in our
lifetime.

One of the purest relationships is the relationship of friendship. A person

without a friend lives a hard life. Everybody needs a companion to deal with our
experience. It is dependent upon you that how you define friendship. It can be
sharing your food, taking care of that person, supporting them in their thick and
thin. You may not be loud about it, but if you care for a person silently, that is
what friendship is. Friendship is about laughing together on small things,
cherishing every moment you share, standing together for each other even when
the world turns its backs towards them. Friendships are sometimes more durable
than the relationship of love. Even though the definition of friendship varies
from person to person, the core meaning behind it is the same for everybody.
Life is empty without a friend. So when you gain a true friend, make sure you
cherish it with all your heart. The person with a real friend, with whom all the
things can be shared, is the luckiest in the world. A friend will never judge you,
and they will never stop scolding you if you are wrong. But whatever the
situation be, they will always be there to support you.

11. Bangabandhu & Sports

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was a sports lover from his childhood.
After the independence of the country, he took a timely plan for the
development of the stadium. In 1972, he formed the Bangladesh Cricket Control
Board, now known as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Not only that, in
the same year (1972), he established the Bangladesh Sports Control
Organization for the coordination and smooth management of sports. It is now
known as the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Pratishthan (BKSP), which is run by
the Government of Bangladesh and is a sports regulatory body under the
Ministry of Youth and Sports. This organization now controls about 45 separate
sports organizations under the auspices of the Government of Bangladesh.
Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is one of them. BFF, the highest football
body in the country, was established in 1972. After independence, he formed
the Ministry of Sports and Youth, realizing the need for the overall development
of the stadiums. As they played a significant role during the war of liberation,
he arranged jobs for the members of the Swadhin Bangla Football Team and
took their responsibilities. He passed the 'Bangladesh Sports Council Act' for
giving the highest status to footballers. On 6 August 1975, he approved a
proposal called 'Bangabandhu Krira Sebi Kalyan Parishad' in the interest of
providing support to the players and their families; but after he was brutally
killed along with his family, its implementation stopped. However, almost four
decades later, his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina passed the
'Bangabandhu Sports Welfare Council Act 2011' in 2011, and the provisions of
that Act are now being applied in various ways.
