Visual-Verbal Illustrations
Visual Verbal illustrations are the ways of presenting
information simply and attractively to catch the reader's
interest. These illustrations help explain concepts easily using
graphs, maps, tables, infographics, charts, and the like.
1. Graphs. Graphs display information on a grid using
an x/y axis. There are different types of graphs, such
as bar graphs and line graphs.

2. Tables. Tables are text-based graphics that display information using words and numbers arranged in columns
and rows.
3. Maps: Maps will help readers to identify information based on symbols and representations. Readers use maps by
looking at the illustrations, symbols, directions, and other features on the maps. Maps can be concept maps and
location maps.
a. A concept map is a visual organization and representation of knowledge.
b. Location map depicts the location of the resource referenced in the application delineated in relation to
named local streets, at a scale that depicts the resource in its entirety and enough surrounding area to

4. Charts: Charts use shapes to convey information, such as percentages, timelines, or processes. There are different
types of charts, such as pie charts and flow charts.
