displays the sequence of work steps that make up a process.
3. The diamond represents an individual task or action in the
process.
4. Deployment Flowchart is a type of flowchart the variations of
the basic linear type.

BASIC FLOWCHART SYMBOLS
The symbols shown below are the commonly used symbols in flowcharts:
1. Oval. It indicates both the beginning point and the ending point of a
process.
2. Rectangle. It represents an individual task or action in the process.
3. Diamond. A diamond shows a decision point such as yes or no.

Figure A shows the following:
• The Oval symbol shows the start and end of the process where the group
started with a suggested design and end with the acceptable design.
• The rectangle symbol shows the task or action in the process such as
discussion of idea, accepting or rejecting the idea, reviewing the created
design, and the submission or revision of the created design.
• The diamond symbol shows a decision point where the group member
decides if the idea is good and if the design is acceptable. As you can
observe, the diamond shows a decision that is answerable by yes or no.
• The arrow symbol in the figure shows the direction of the next step in the
process.
• The document symbol shows the creation of the actual design by drawing
the agreed design which can produce a printed output.
